WANTABLE INTIMATES MARCH 2016 - box

Wantable Intimates is one of the subscriptions from Wantable, and it is probably my favorite box they offer. Like all Wantable subscriptions, you can heavily customize what they send you by filling out your preferences – and you still get to be surprised!

Here are the order details of my box. Wantable recently added free individual item returns to their subscription plans, so you can send back any item(s) you don’t want and get the refund based on the “Your price” listing. (Returns are free for US subscribers). However, if you keep everything, you get a “$4 credit” to your account making your next box $46. If you return anything, you have to pay the full $50 cost for the next box.

When you first sign up for any Wantable subscription you take a style quiz and you can get very specific about the items you want and don’t want. (This is the list of my loves, likes and dislikes from my invoice).

Wantable has also developed their “stream,” which is basically just a feed of photos items from subscribers of their items and boxes. The items are identified and linked below the photos so if you see something you want, you can request it to be sent to you.

This month my stylist actually sent me all 3 things I requested via the stream!

WANTABLE INTIMATES MARCH 2016 - items 1

Tonal Spacedye Colorblock Cozy Socks 3 pack – retail: $18 (my price $8.57)

I’m really happy to get a 3 pack of socks instead of underwear this month! I love cozy socks.

WANTABLE INTIMATES MARCH 2016 - items 2

Long Sleeve Tunic – retail: $28 (my price: $13.33)

In my notes on my style profile I say that I love tunics/tops, and I got this! I’m really happy with it.

Daisy Fuentes Lounge Pant in Mayan Ikat – retail: $38 (my price: $18.10)

I’m skeptical about pants from Wantable Intimates because they’re usually not long enough. However these jogger-type pants are perfect! And they’re crazy soft and comfortable. Almost slinky feeling. The blue print is really cute, too!

The Verdict: Sometimes you can find items that Wantable sends on sale online so the value can be a little tricky to evaluate – personally, I think as long as all the items included are worth the subscription cost to me, I count the box as a win. I’m really happy with this month’s box! It’s one of my favorites in a long while. Also, I’m really glad that my stylist paid attention to my note about liking tunics and tops, and also sent me 3 things I requested on their stream!

What do you think about Wantable Intimates?

I really don’t understand who still subscribes to this box. They send TJ Maxx type of stuff, 3 pieces for $50. That’s crazy to me. You can spend $50 a month on Victoria’s Secret online and choose exactly what you want and it’s a much higher quality. That’s what I do now. They often have deals with free shipping on $50. I liked this sub when it was 4-5 items for $36. Obviously. What a great deal and it was a fun surprise. At the $50 price point, it’s much more of a risk.

I’m absolutely livid about my box. I got a pair of underwear clearly missing one of its bows. The shorts were great but the matching shirt… I was so embarrassed being inside of it. I’d told them my body shape and they gave me a high low that showed off my rather flabby stomach. I started crying wearing it and I never want to go back to them.

I subbed back when it was the older model and it NEVER worked out for me. Always a prob (size, damaged, not my taste, yada yada), but I just can’t see this box as being worth $50 for me. It’s not that these items are not cute bc they are. But for me, I would rather spend my $ on something else. I just don’t see this sub as worth it. But that’s me!

No, I totally agree. I saw a pair of MukLuks listed on the swap site. It was the MukLuks ‘a la mode’ line. The RV was listed as $25. I just bought 2 pair a month ago from Walmart in the same exact line for $6.97 apiece. Their prices just seem super over inflated. It wasn’t as bad, in my opinion, with the old model, and I think customer service was better then too. I called to return both boxes (under the new model) & all they did was try to convince me to do an exchange for a new box. No matter what I said. Finally I had to get a little angry & just say “I’m returning them. Period. I want a refund. End of discussion.”. I was so frustrated by the whole ordeal. I cancelled immediately after returning the 2nd box & made sure they refunded my full $50.

I don’t get the new craze for banded (around the ankle) pants. Visited Victoria’s Secret recently and they also mostly had sweats and lounge pants with banded legs. To me this style reminds me of kids pajamas or leggings from the 80’s. Also they seem to emphasize the shape of thighs which most of us prefer to appear slimmer (I’m not talking about you Haley, just generally, you look great in this style). I find a straight or slightly flared leg on casual pants (including jeans) much more flattering than the ones tapering at the ends. Now I say that having never actually tried on banded pants (can’t bring myself to), as I am slow to welcome new styles. After all I still cannot bring myself to wear tights with a top (I’m tall and it looks like I forgot to put on a skirt).

I like the banded pants for me b/c I’m short. I can always roll the band at least once if I need to. Regular pants are too long and petites are too short. Plus, I just find joggers to be super comfy (not the jean ones, those I won’t wear). I wear them all the time.

I really do love those pants! I’d wear them all the time. I do like ‘stream’ idea they’ve come up with. However, I was not a fan of how they changed their sub box model and raised the prices. For me, I don’t find getting three items to be worth $50, especially when I’ve known several subscribers who’ve found their items on other websites for way less than the RV that Wantable quotes. In the old sub box model, I only ever got one item that I didn’t like and my stylist was really good; she usually sent me items that I requested or adhered directly to my profile (this was out of 7/8 boxes, so that’s pretty awesome). However, I tried the new model 2x & was thoroughly disappointed both times. They changed my stylist who basically sent whatever she wanted (I got things thongs months in a row, when that was a dislike in my profile AND I stated in the notes to NEVER send that type of panty b/c I NEVER wear them & they would always be returned. Both boxes under the new model & price were returned in full. I cancelled after that and I don’t think I’ll be resubbing, even with the new ‘stream’ option. Just my two cents, of course. There are many subscribers who seem to really enjoy the new model, so I may be in the minority with this opinion. Who knows?

Yikes! I hope people who run the site see your note. To specifically send thongs three times when you specifically state you do not like and will not wear tells me the new stylist either doesn’t bother with reading your preferences, disregards what you want and is trying to push certain products on you, or just doesn’t care. Not a good customer service or business model.

That’s how I felt. Like my preference s were completely disregarded. And I got sent some ruffly babydoll thing (their RV was $40, mine $20…nope) that I also had in my dislikes. All my likes were of the comfort sort. Comfy pants, socks, pjs, etc. I did have boyshorts & hipsters picked as panties, but was never sent anything of that nature. Out of the 2 boxes in the new model, I may have (if I’d kept the box) held onto one item. It was a simple cotton nightshirt that they retail valued at $35 ($18, I think, for my value, still too high for just a nightshirt). It’s just not worth it to me. I’m too particular with my underclothes and I won’t pay $18 for a nightshirt or even a pj set for that matter.

Haley I love what you got. This is my favorite box. If I only kept one box that I subscribe to, this would be the one I keep.
