Gamer Girl Monthly is a subscription box service that delivers jewelry and accessories for girls who like to game! I'm a bit of a gamer, but really probably only a little more than most moms. I really just want to have all the cool swag for sharing with and hanging out with the kids and their friends! They love it!

This month's theme is DARKNESS!

gamer-girl-mar-socks

Vaultboy Crew Socks - Value $11.99

Fallout socks! How fun! I think it's kind of strange that they included a pair of men's socks in Gamer Girl Monthly, but my older son instantly loved them!

gamer-girl-mar-bag

The jewelry all came in this little Nuka-Cola bag, also from Fallout. How cute!

gamer-girl-mar-earrings

Nuka Cola Earrings - Value $12?

I couldn't find these exact earrings online, so I'm guessing at the value based on similar earrings. These are also from Fallout, and also very cute.

Always Necklace - Value $4.95

I think I now have every piece of jewelry ever from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, even though I'm not a huge fan. I do like this necklace, though, and I appreciate the shout-out to departed actor Alan Rickman. At first, I thought, wait, Harry Potter isn't even a game. But then I remembered Lego Harry Potter for the Wii that my kids used to play. That was a great game!

Dark Sansa Necklace - Value $22.99

Is Game of Thrones a video game at all? I don't think so, but I don't want to make that statement without really knowing. I think this is more of a cosplay item, and I'm not really into GoT or cosplay, so I think I will swap this necklace or find someone to give this to.

Verdict: This collection was certainly dark! I'm just concerned that GoT is not a video game at all. I also think the inclusion of men's' socks was a little strange. The value is good - $40 worth of swag for $17! All the other items are fun and fit perfectly in this box. I have mixed feelings about Gamer Girl Monthly!

I like the idea but this box is crap. The curation just wasn’t there but I’m interesting in checking out the next spoiler. Hopefully it’ll be way better or else more money in pocket lol.

This seems like it’s a mix of fandom and gamer. Not really my thing, but I am glad there’s a girl gamer box! I tried a couple of fandom boxes, but they’re more cheap items that seemed more for teens. Plus I don’t have any fandoms I’m into.

Am I the weirdo? I’d buy the socks I figure unless they’re just too big they’re pretty unisex in design.
The Always is nice but meh, the Dark Sansa I don’t get because I haven’t finished reading GoT nor have I watched it (apparently one of the few on the planet.) The earrings are cute but probably not nickel free so I couldn’t wear them for long without being irritated.
Over all even if you don’t love everything I always look at is it at least a good value, because often times you can trade. The 4 items of jewelry seem like something you’d get from Hot Topic which would put them in the buy one get one 50% off category.
For me a Gamer Girl box would be more like special decals for your PS4 or XB1, grips for the controller, or something as equally cool.

I’m not impressed. If I were a teenager, I’d be po’ed that I wasted my money. I realize that you may not always get what you want in boxes, but the only relatable item is the earrings.

There is a Game of Thrones Telltale game. By the same people who did The Walking Dead game. I haven’t played it but it seems to be story driven with lots of quick time events.

There was an original GoT role-playing game too for the 360 which I haven’t played it either.

Lynn

There is but it would be thoughtless if they used that as their reasoning since Sansa doesn’t even make an appearance in the game.

Good to know! Thanks Rebecca!

Usually I love this box, but this month wasn’t very good I thought. I like them better when they do retro games. The Harry Potter necklace I received in a previous box. Was disappointed to get it again.
