Previously, on Geek Box Showdown:Loot Crate took home the clean sweep in February with their 'Dead' box.

Just a note before starting - Since geek boxes are including more and more exclusive items, it's becoming harder to get a real value, so I figured I'd give a fair estimate of those items. Also, if the review has a value range - I took the high-end of the range.

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon March 2016 - all items

Nerd Block Classic - Read the Full Review

The Cost: $19.99 plus shipping (Shipping is $8.75 to Canada, $9.50 to US, $12.50 Worldwide)

Number of items: 6

Value of items: $50+ (it's tough to value the autograph)

Exclusive Items: Shirt and Plaque

Synopsis: This month's theme was Hero's Quest. Nerd Block is just gaining and gaining momentum month after month. This is another awesome box - I love everything this month. My friend just about died to get the Johnny autograph. Two Funko items, a shirt that I love, Tobias, and Batman/Superman - I can't ask for more.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - all items with box

Loot Crate - Read the Full Review

The Cost: $13.37 plus $6 shipping a month

Number of items: 5 (not counting the monthly pin)

Value of items: $60-65

Exclusive Items: All items were exclusive!

Synopsis: This month's theme was 'Vs.' which seems perfect for the movies and shows in March. I was kind of hoping for more BvS or Daredevil, although the Daredevil beanie is the standout item of the box for me. Luckily/Unluckily it's been cold, so I've been able to rock this hat. I'm not the biggest Star Trek fan, but I liked the shirt design (but not really the color). In a month where I'd expect a lot of Batman or Superman, the BvS item felt like a toss-in.

Geek Fuel - Read the Full Review

The Cost: $23.90 a month

Number of items: 5

Value of items: $73

Exclusive Items: Shirt and print

Synopsis: This was a standout month for Geek Fuel, in my opinion. They had the best Batman/Super related items in a month where that film was a big deal - including the best BvS shirt and a Funko mystery mini! This had a really high value as well - with less small items and more big ticket items. The Stan Lee comic was a fantastic read, and the print was high-quality and beautiful.

1upbox-march-2016-items

1UP Box - Read the Full Review

The Cost: $18.92

Number of items: 6

Value of items: $40

Exclusive Items:All exclusive except TMNT plush

Synopsis: This was another 'Versus' theme this month, which is definitely an appropriate theme. I liked the two bigger items in the box, the shirt, and the TMNT plush (but only because it was TMNT). I didn't have much use for anything else in the box - but Anna's kids will be reviewing this one from now on - which hI think will be more useful for all of you readers!

Super Geek Box Subscription Box Review March 2016 - al items

Super Geek Box - Read the Full Review

The Cost: $13.92 plus shipping ($6 shipping to the US)

Number of items: 6

Value of items: $30-35

Exclusive Items: All exclusives except the Sonic plush

Synopsis: This month's theme is 'Lightning' and appropriately included 2 big ticket Sonic items. I love, and grew up with, Sonic - so I definitely liked both items. Like 1UP Box, the smaller items were kind of toss-ins which I gifted. Also, like 1UP Box, this will be reviewed by Anna as well!

Fandora's Box Subscription Box Review March 2016 - all items

Fandora's Box - Read the Full Review

The Cost: $35 ($25 + $10 shipping from Canada)

Number of items: 5

Value of items: $64

Exclusive Items: Only the shirt was exclusive.

Synopsis: Fandora's Box is new to this list! Since this is my 3rd delivery, it felt like it was time to include it. This month's theme was 'Toon Mania', and did it ever deliver. This shirt. What else can I say about it? It meshed two of my favorite animated shows brilliantly. On top of that - 3 vinyl figures! and Jake USB drive! Big win this month.

Verdict:

Favorite Box: Both Geek Fuel and Fandora's Box really impressed me with all of their items this month. Fandora's Box takes the victory, though, with an incredible shirt, 3 vinyl figures, and USB drive.

Favorite Item: I love my reversible beanie from Loot Crate! I've been able to wear it often, since it's been cold, and I always take a second to think about which side to wear out. Punisher almost always wins.

March was a really good month across the geek boxes. I was surprised that there was only a small dose of Batman and Superman items, though! After February's onslaught of Deadpool, I expect the same, if not more, for two of the more popular superheroes ever. The big boxes seem to be getting really good at sending out a ton of high-value items now, which is a good sign moving forward!

I recently tried out the Junior version of Nerd Block and found it not only really poor quality, but also extremely lacking of items associated with the theme. It had one singular item that had anything to do with the theme and it looked like a tiny plastic thing I would find at a Dollar Store. I was not impressed in the slightest. I now wonder how many other unknowing children/parents are being ripped off by the poor quality in the Junior blocks.

Extremely unhappy with Loot Crate at the moment. I recently subscribed and selected PayPal as my payment method. Loot Crate has taken their funds from my PayPal account without issue. I went online to pay my Amazon Chase credit account only to find a $30.00 charge from Loot Crate on 3/22/16. My Amazon Chase account is not attached to my PayPal account, so I have no idea how they got that information. I also found it odd that the amount was $30.00 even, as Loot Crate typically ends in .70, .80, .90, .95, etc. I don’t know whether this is internal theft happening through Loot Crate or someone outside has accessed their system. I submitted a dispute through Chase and told them my account number was stolen. I searched online and found I was not the only one that this has happened to. One 70 year-old gentleman had no business dealing with Loot Crate whatsoever. I encourage everyone that has a Chase Amazon credit account to take a look at it. Luckily, I had a small balance to pay or I wouldn’t have logged on to find this charge!
