This month the theme is "Springtime in Texas." My Texas Market says: "This box is inspired by the beautiful bluebonnets lining our Texas highways, the baskets of sweet berries filling the farmers' markets, and the sights and smells of springtime in the Lone Star State. Enjoy!"
Mind Your Own Beeswax Candle Co. - Medium Beehive Candle - $8.00
This is a beautiful candle. There is a lot of detail on it, and it smells amazing - Exactly like honeycomb. The tag on the candle says that burning this indoors produces "negative ions which are proven to cleanse the air of dust, odors, toxins, pollens, molds, and viruses." I'm not sure about all of that, but it does smell delicious, and that's enough for me!
Kuhdoo Soap Co., Bluebonnet Soap - $6.00
Even though my husband is from Texas, and we go back every so often, I don't think I've ever seen or smelled a Texas Bluebonnet. If they smell anything like this soap though - I think I would LOVE them. The scent of this soap hit me as soon as I opened the box, and I LOVED it. It's very light, and sweet. Not too floral but just enough. I am going to want to hoard this soap and not use it, but I'm trying to make a point of using up everything I receive!
Otavea Strawberry Sugar Scrub - $8.00
This smells exactly like fresh strawberries. It is not the fake, saccharine scent of most strawberry body products. It smells like fresh cut strawberries in the spring! When I opened it, I did need to stir it (which the packaging prompts you to do anyway), and then I scrubbed and left it on for 2 minutes (like the directions state), my hands were so soft afterwards! The oils from the scrub were so moisturizing and the sugar was gentle on my hands. I love this stuff.
Texas Hill Country Olive Co., Blackberry Balsamic Vinegar - $6.79
This balsamic is so good. It's very fruity and sweet, but it still has those essential elements of a balsamic vinegar. I make roasted strawberry ice cream parfaits with a bit of balsamic added to the strawberries, and I think this is going to be amazing in those this summer!
Brenham Kitchens, Dried Strawberries - $10.00
These are ridiculously delicious. Again, there's no fake strawberries here - these are real dried strawberries, with a bit of sugar added. They're perfectly chewy and flavorful - amazing. I am going to add these to my favorite scone recipe this weekend, since I have a bit of a lazy Saturday planned! These would be delicious on pretty much anything, but I can also see them being amazing in a white chocolate chip cookie!
Verdict: As always, My Texas Market is one of my favorite boxes every month. They stick to their themes so well, all of the items are exactly what they say they will be: unique items that you might find at your local farmers market. I don't know how they do it every month, but they just do such an amazing job with curation. The value of this box is about $38.79, which is pretty close to the normal value of the box. This is probably very close to the cost of the box plus shipping for most people. I am happy with that value, especially since My Texas Market never promises more than a $35 value, and they always meet that!
Have you tried My Texas Market yet? Do you love it as much as I do?
