Good to Know: Washi Buff Box is mailed at the very end of the month and is intended for the next month of planning and crafting. Like many other planner subscriptions, this box is labeled as the shipping month, but it’s really for the following month. Currently, the Washi Buff Box for April is available for purchase, and it will be shipped at the end of April, for May. Get it, Got it...Good!
At this time, Washi Buff Box does not come with an insert of any kind except the shop’s business card. I would love to know more about where the washi tape comes from and what inspired the picks for each month. As of now, we are left to our own imagination to name, and hard search the beautiful washi tape you see below. So, I’ll stop complaining.
This month I have 7 rolls of washi tape. I believe one of them may be exclusive to the box. After all subscription boxes are delivered, Silent Poetry Arts places many of the new washi tapes available for individual purchases but this doesn’t happen overnight.
Brown, Pink and Teal Floral Washi Tape - $3.50
I love thick washi tape like this one, they’re great for making borders on all all sorts of paper projects.
Green, Pinks and Teal Triangles Geometric Washi Tape - $2.75
I like the color combination in this tape, but it feels very “Christmas”-ish to me. It’s probably just the green triangles that look like trees. LOL. I don’t know. I haven’t used it yet, but its pretty!
Teal, Beige, Green and Red Village Row of Homes Washi Tape - $3.25
As you can see so far, the washi tape do not have names, so you’re left to find your favorite tapes by the descriptions. This one reminds me of Disney princess stories and Shrek! I love it!
Purple Floral Lace Washi Tape - $4.00?
Sorry, I had to make up a name for this one, at the time I wrote this, it still had not been added to the online shop. It’s surprisingly gorgeous and it’s unlike any washi tape I’ve ever seen before. I priced it with the higher quality washi tape available in the shop now. I’m so glad to have it, but I haven’t used too much of it. I’m savoring every bit, like it’s never going to run out. LOL
Skinny Black Triangles Geometric Washi Tape - $2.00
This one is more transparent than I originally thought. I still like it though. I don’t have much black and white washi tape, but I’d love to do a weekly planner spread with all black and white!
Brown Wood Grain Arrow Washi Tape - $2.75
I always need arrows in my planner. Obviously used to point things out. It’s also fairly transparent, so just place them anywhere you need one!
Solid Pink Washi Tape - $2.75
I’m not absolutely sure the solid neon pink listed is the same I’m seeing here. Again, it would be very helpful to have a list of the names of each washi tape available to find/research later. Either way, it’s opaque and “Bubblegum” pink, one of my favorite nail polish colors, and beautiful.
Verdict: This month, Washi Buff Box had an estimated retail value of $21.00. It’s right over the estimated retail of $20.00 and that’s just fine by me. I love my growing collection of washi tapes and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the design selections and the quality of the tape itself. I’ve purchased washi tapes from my local superstores and I noticed the adhesive always has a strong scent. So far, I haven’t run into this problem. Also, I started subscribing to Washi Buff Box last year and I have to say, I’ve been more “selective” when browsing through the washi tape sections in stores and online. So beware, you may become a washi snob after subscribing! Quality over Quantity!
Do you subscribe to Washi Buff Box or any other washi tape subscriptions? Tell me down below what kinds of arts and crafts do you make with your washi tapes?
