Amazon is offering a free Baby Welcome Box ($35 Value) for any Prime Members who create a Baby Registry! (Alternatively, you can also buy this box for $35.)

The process to get the free box is a little complicated, so I've broken it down into steps:

Step 1: If you are not already a Prime Member, start a Free 30-day trial.

Step 2: Go to the Baby Registry Page and click Create Your Own Registry on the left: Screen Shot 2016-05-05 at 5.23.40 PM

Step 3: Fill out Your registry info:

Once you click submit you'll be taken to this Jumpstart page for putting together your registry:

Step 4: Click on the Categories starting with "Out & About," then you'll see the subcategories for each section (ignore Favorites):

You'll need to add one product from each subcategory to your Baby Registry to qualify for the free welcome box. Here is how it will look as you add items:

Almost done! After your registry is 100% Complete. Click "View My Registry." You'll see this on the left side:

Step 5: Add something you were planning on buying from Amazon ($10 or more) to your registry and buy it from your registry. (This does NOT have to be a baby item - it can be anything. I wanted to test it out so I bought a YA book and it worked.)

Step 6: As soon as the purchased item from your registry ships, your free Welcome Box status will change:

Click "Claim Now" and you'll be good to go!

That's it! Phew! It takes a few minutes to go through the steps, but the free gift boxes look pretty great, so I think it is worth it! Here are some boxes shared on Instagram:

Just got my box today! I received the exact same items as photo #2:
*1 Avent baby bottle
*a package of unknown Avent product with a quantity of 2 pieces (nipple pads? it’s unlabeled and I don’t want to rip it open)
*1 Seventh Generation newborn diaper
*MAM newborn pacifier
*3 oz Johnson’s Baby Bubble Bath
*0.5 oz Baby Ganics Moisturizing Daily Lotion
*Baby Ganics Wipes, 10ct
*KIND Fruit & Nut bar
*New Chapter Prenatal Vitamins, 5 day supply (this comes in an amber glass vial, and the large size is silly for a 5 day supply)
*Burt’s Bee’s Renewal Intensive Firming Serum, sample packette with 3$ off coupon

Overall it’s nice for a free box, but definitely not worth $35 for the one I received. Even though I’ve got box envy for some of the other items people have received, I will definitely be able to pass on most items to my first-time pregnant best friend 🙂

Love this! My “baby” is almost 23 but I can’t say no to something free. I always find something I need at Amazon for a great price, so putting any $10 item in the registry was easy! I’m sure I’ll find a couple things in the box that I can use (baby wash for the cat, wipes are good for anyone, etc) and the rest will go in the “free samples” box that has been on my desk at work since I started getting subs. My son thought is was shady but I think samples are samples so if I give them away, the company still gets it’s advertising, right?

What about the pregnant people that actually need this stuff? 🙁 Those samples run out, ya know?

I totally agree with your son.

I was gonna do the same thing she did. Lol

Thanks Liz! My best friend’s pregnant, so I’ll be adding Welcome Box items to some clothes I’m making for baby 🙂

Also thanks in general for this awesome, awesome site.

I’m not even pregnant, but my nephew’s fiancée just had a baby so this is awesome. I’ll be giving this to her as a late mother’s day present! Thanks for the heads up!

Awesome! It took me about 45 minutes to get through all of the steps (mostly because I got really into looking through and picking the items) now just waiting for my item to ship so I can claim my box. Thanks! I never would’ve known about this deal!

I started taking the time to make all those choices but I saw a little link on the side that says “mark all complete”. I clicked that linked, marked all the subcatagories complete in each catagory and Voila! DONE! now i have to buy something??! Don’t know if I will, but just giving others a quicker way around all those steps.

Love the idea, but honestly doesn’t look like a $35 value to me. Target had a nice one with a bottle, pacifier, coupons and huggies clutch.

Since I only had to buy something I was going to be buying anyway, this is a good deal to me. My nephew’s fiancée gets a (late) mother’s day present and I get the item I was planning on buying any way. And with the option to just “mark all as complete” it’s not even like it takes that long.

This is was better than target to me. You get a full pack of wipes, a bottle, baby wash, baby rattle, etc. Everyone has their own opinion but that Huggies clutch can come in a box of baby wipes at sam”s club.

I think this is way better than the target one too!
