PLVSH Style is a subscription styling service for plus-size women.  They describe themselves as "Concierge Styling, Exclusively for Women Sizes 14+."  I love this type of box!  When I signed up, I had to fill out a pretty in-depth questionnaire regarding my size, style preferences, and lifestyle in order for them to select pieces that are just right for me.  Selections for each subscriber will (and should) vary.

plvsh-may-invoice

This is a first!  PLVSH now sends an invoice that lists the items they sent and your cost to keep them.

plvsh-may-info

PLVSH also sent this info sheet with details on each item and a brief explanation of why each piece was chosen for me.  I really like knowing that everything was hand selected for me!

On the reverse side are some important reminders of their terms and the process for returning the items I don't wish to keep.

plvsh-may-dress

BB Dakota Yellow Guaze Off Shoulder Dress - Cost to keep $120

What a cheerful and fun summer dress!  I love the color!  It's not really my style, though, so this has to go back.

plvsh-may-jeans

NYDJ Marilyn Straight Optic White Jean - Cost to keep $120

I love the idea of white jeans in summer, but in reality, I can't own any white clothing, really.  I have kids and dogs and very little time for clothing maintenance.  I also have to mention here that this is the third time I have received the wrong size in NYDJ from PLVSH.  As a service for plus size women, PLVSH should know that you have to size down one size to get the correct fit from NYDJ.

plvsh-may-capris

NYDJ Ariel Crop Regatta Blue With Stud Pant - Cost to keep $98

Make that the fourth time they have sent me the wrong size in NYDJ.  It's a shame, too, because I really like the color and bling on these capris!

plvsh-may-skirt

J. Jill Seamed Knit White Maxi Skirt - Cost to keep $79

This is another really pretty piece I wish I could wear!  I just can't do white on this grand of a scale, though.  White is also kind of a fattening color on me, to be honest.

plvsh-may-blouse

NYJD 3/4 Sleeve Pleatback Miramar Floral Blue Blouse - Cost to keep $98

I'm a little torn about this blouse.  I like the colors a lot, but I'm not wild about the print.  I also like the pleats in back, but the neckline doesn't do much for me.  I guess I have to send this one back, too.

Verdict:  This month was pretty disappointing, to be honest.  I can understand pieces not working out due to personal preferences, but I don't understand why PLVSH Style keeps sending me the wrong size NYDJ jeans.  Otherwise, they sent some cute pieces, but nothing that I really had to have.  I think PLVSH is a really great service for women who are too busy to shop, or even just those who prefer to try on clothes from the comfort of their own home!  Their pieces tend to be a bit pricey, but they always send pieces that are current and high quality.  Here's hoping next month will be better!

I’m waiting for my second Plvsh box. Last month was not a total failure for me – they sent a basic Eloquii navy blue scoop neck tee and a Vince Camuto blouse that I ended up keeping, but the NYDJ jeans, dress, and a white cardigan went back. It was really strange – the dress was too short, the jeans fit fine but were too short (I KNOW I didn’t say I was petite, yet the jeans were petite…), but the cardigan was gigantic and made me look like the Stay Pufft Marshmallow Woman.

I am looking forward to what they send this month, but am cautiously optimistic.

White is a “spill all over this” color for me, personally. Or “hey laundry, feel free to leave all my other clothing colors on this!” I may still be bitter, having just ruined all of my brights and whites by throwing a new yellow coverup into the washer. ='(

Though, I do need to buy some white items to test out an indigo and shibori dyeing kit I got from We Make Collective!

Yup, kids and dogs are a no go for white and honestly I agree with you about how it isn’t flattering. IMO it makes ME feel like a marshmallow. I can layer it under stuff but I do not like to wear large swaths of white.

That yellow dress looks like the tarp for covering wood that the salesgirl tries to sell Amy Schumer in that skit that was released a few weeks ago.
