Good to Know: Each month, SC previews the upcoming theme and all SC subscribers can log into their accounts to select add-ons before the public release date. Adding on items from the shop gives subscribers a chance to grab coordinating pieces outside of their subscription, eliminates the cost of shipping, and gives a unique discount for some purchases. I haven’t figured out all the fine details to the add-ons, so please check with the FAQ or Customer Service. This month, I added on two scrapbooking sheets from the sale section.
This is my very first subscription with Studio Calico. Decorating my planner and coloring are two hobbies that I rediscovered last year and it seems that I’m probably not alone with all the paper boxes popping up everywhere. LOL! The insert card say the theme is “Jolly Holiday” and even lists complementing colors for the month.
Everything was packaged in this SC pouch. I’ll definitely reuse it for a pencil pouch or sticker pouch. I also need to point out that almost all of the products linked below take you to similar/like items. Most of everything is still unavailable to the public. But I am assuming that they would be added to the shop for those looking to restock.
Studio Calico - Roller Stamp in Time - $5.99
I named, “Time”. I have three other stamps from SC, thanks to the warehouse sale. But can you believe they are all different? So many choices now! It’s not available for purchase yet, but I can see it’s stamped with all sorts of references for "time" like: early, morning, am, daily, etc.
Triangle Paper Clips in Gold - 10ea - approximately $10.50 USD
These are the prettiest paper clips I own! I’m using them as page markers. I want to use a few to decorate and gift to friends. Really pretty!.
Hello Forever - 4x6 Planner Die Cut Labels - 2ea - $2.00
Hello Forever - 4x6 Clock Stickers - 2ea - $5.99
Studio Calico - Vellum Checklist Stickers in Grey - 2ea - $1.00
Studio Calico - 3x4 Vellum Raindrop Stickers - 2ea - $2.99
I love how well everything came individually packed. There was no chance for stickers to get lost or scratched from the bulkier stamp. I’m personally not a big fan of die cut labels for planners. You either have to staple them or glue them down, and I don’t carry those tools on the go.
My favorite stickers from this lot are the raindrops. My least favorite are the checklists. I liked using the dots left over in the middle for a check list.
Hello Forever - Alarm Clock Sticky Notes - $1.50
Hello Forever - 3x6 Time Icon Puffy Circle Stickers - $3.99
I’m not a fan of puffy sticker for my mobile planners, but I’ll try a few out at some point. But, I absolutely adore the clock note pad! There’s only 15 sheets which really bums me out. They’ll be gone in no time. Get it.
Jasmine Jones - Floral Planner Pocket Page - $3.00
Adorable! It’s really sturdy like a cardboard box! This pocket page came with a few holes prepunched. I’m not sure what planner it fits like this. I had to punch three more holes for it to fit my planner.
Jasmine Jones - 6x8 Transparency in Time - $3.00
The quote says, “It’s Not About Having Time. It’s About Making Time.” Subscribers had the option to choose from two quoted transparency sheets. It also comes with a clear protective sheet on top. It peels off easily to reveal a glossy finish. Transparency sheet can be trimmed and framed or you can punch holes and use it in your planner and scrapbooking. It feels so weird to cut something so pretty, but I’m going to do it! I think I’m just scared to ruin it since there’s only one. No pressure!
Verdict: The Studio Calico Planner Kit for May had an estimated retail value of $40.00. I would say that the value is very good this month. I’m not sure how I like the kit from a planner’s perspective. It’s not anything that I would normally purchase from an Etsy planner shop for myself, but I think that’s also why I do like it. It’s different! I do love that I discovered the name of an artist, Jasmine Jones, whose work I had already came to appreciate and never knew it. I also really love that SC offers discounts for subscribers and have a private purchasing window for subscribers as well.
