As you can see, my usual “helper” was contributing. Let’s try that again!
Included was a letter detailing the items for the month.
Kong Active Cork Ball – Value $4.50
Sneaky loved this. Especially the cork part. She tossed it everywhere and chewed on the cork. It has held up pretty well so far.
Zanies Lattice Ball – Value $0.60
This was a hit with Monkey. He likes any little noisy plastic ball.
Supercat Plush Toys + 3 mL Spray – Value $9.99
I think these are adorable. And they come with catnip spray so you can refresh them periodically.
Laser Chase II from Pet Sport – Value $2.99
Normally my cats are all into lasers. But this one didn’t work very well. It had like no power at all and the light was dim and then eventually stopped working.
You are SO helpful, Monkey…
Zuke’s Natural Purrz Tender Chicken Recipe (3 oz) – Value $2.63
We get these often in cat subscriptions. They are semi-moist and my cats do like them quite a bit so this is a win. I will never have to buy them, either.
Spry Respiratory and Ocular Support by In Clover (2.1 oz) – Value $5.19
These are new to me. They contain lysine, which is supposed to help against feline herpes viruses which can affect the eyes as well as the breathing. I just use them as general treats although Sneaky does have eye herpes as well as asthma, so maybe there will be additional benefits?
Picture time!
Here’s Madison. It is so hard to take pictures of black cats. I don’t know how those calendar people do it.
Monkey really likes noisy ball toys.
And this was a huge hit with Sneaky. She also bit the cork a lot.
Mr. Kitty was not in the mood for pictures, as usual. (He is an old guy and he is having some eye problems right now so this was the best I could do.)
Verdict: I calculated a value of $25.90 for the May 2016 Surprise My Pet cat subscription box. That is a little above the cost of the box and is a better deal if you get a longer term subscription or use a coupon code. I should also point out that some of the prices quoted above were sale prices, and also that cat boxes have notoriously low values so meeting or exceeding the value of the box is definitely a good thing.
What do you think of the May 2016 Surprise My Pet box? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
