Info Card

The box came with a personalized card telling us which books we were receiving from our personal book picker. The profile you fill out when you sign up for Bookü asks about their grade, age, reading level, interests and also has a spot for you to the book picker anything else you want them to know about your child. This helps them get to know your child well and figure out the best books for them.

Dino

Dino Open

Meet Teddy Rex by Bonnie Williams- $15.99

In my son’s profile I mentioned my son likes dinosaurs. I love that they included a dinosaur book for him! This is a cute story about Teddy Rex who has trouble remembering to use his “indoor roar” in Dino School.

Biscuit

Biscuit Open

Biscuit by Alyssa Satin Capucilli - $3.46 on Amazon (retail price: $3.99)

The Biscuit books are such sweet stories and though we have a couple of them, we don’t have this one which is the original. I love that this story is a beginner reader because my son is just starting to learn his sight words. Books like this help build his confidence because he can help me read it by spotting his familiar sight words.

Lion

Lion Open

There’s a Lion in My Cornflakes by Michelle Robinson - $13.34 on Amazon (retail $16.99)

This book is hysterical! In my son’s profile I said that he liked funny books and this one was such a perfect choice. It’s about two brothers, who save up cereal box coupons to send away for a free lion. Unfortunately the cereal company runs out of lions and sends a bear instead, and then a crocodile, and a gorilla. While the boys are very disappointed at first they soon find out the benefits of these animals and soon are saving cornflakes coupons again in hopes of a tiger. Both the text and illustrations are wonderful, this one is an instant favorite!

Verdict: Bookü was a huge hit! We’ve been enjoying all three books they sent and I feel like the book curator did a great job selecting books for my son based on the profile I had completed. I’m very pleased with the value as well. I can’t wait to see what they send next month!

What do you think of this month’s Bookü? Would you prefer to try the Books Only box or the Books & More box?

I’ve got a rising 5th grader who reads at a 10th grade level, so I just signed her up. Can’t wait to see what they find for her! Unfortunately, I stupidly forgot to enter the coupon, though! *sigh*
