Update: I was able to do the $1 box online, but called in to see if I could also take advantage of the 20%+free May box and I was 🙂 I’m the free May box, the $1 July box and my sub will begin with August (end in Jan 2017).
CS was super helpful and answered alllll of my questions (I had alot too!)

I loved my first box this month and I recommend it even though my skin color is decidley pink. It came on the same day as my last Birchbox and helped me see that I’m OK with the BB break up.

is it normal that when you sign in to your account, the sub says “inactive” and the “billing info” is blank?
I just signed up using the link and paid $1, but my account doesn’t show anything. Wondering if Essence is like Allure in terms of amazing web interface.

I unsubscribed. My Nyx blush didn’t come with my box when it arrived yesterday and I was fine with that. I called customer service and let them know about the missing blush. The man I spoke with on the phone had the nerve to describe what the blush was supposed to look like. As if I don’t know what blush looks like ?? I’ve never been so enraged with any customer service representative to the point where I unsubscribed until yesterday. If I say it’s not in the box, it’s not in the box, don’t act like I don’t know what it’s supposed to look like…

I got a tiny NYX blush in “bronzed” instead of the ombre blush. I was bummed, but oh well. Still love this box.

Me too. My mom got the Ombre one so she just gave me hers. I didn’t like the lip choice this month but the box wasn’t a complete miss considering the price. And I’m even more excited about my sub now that they promise at least 1 B.O.B. per month; that’s a major reason why I signed up.
