I’m reposting this because I used a different account name than usual and I don’t think the original message posted. So excuse if a duplicate…

JUST got my box. I had ordered the pool party mystery box as well as the 3pc add on mystery. Here’s a list of all of what I received; sorry I don’t know which items are part of which offer:

-Makeup The Rules bag, which is much larger than I expected — roughly 11″x7″; it’s clear gray plastic w/ orange zipper.
– 5 nail polishes – Hayley, Jacqueline, Lillian, Madelynn, Makenna,
– Lip gloss in Enchanted
– When pencil met gel eyeliner in electric teal shimmer
– Luxe your lips conditioning lip treatment in Candy apple

I think the offer is still available on their website if anyone is interested.

So irritated with the lack of a lip oil.

Well this is rather disappointing. I agree on the lack of lip oil. And the bright red luxe your lips… >.<

Kara

Thanks! Can you post photos?

Has anyone received their Mystery Bag yet? Today is the last day to order and I am trying really, really hard to pass it up. I thought there was a chance that maybe someone who ordered it right away may have received it already and could give me a hint on what it contains. : )

Rosemary

I think they don’t even start shipping until the offer is closed. My order status is “processing”.

Has anyone noticed if the products that appear on the page along with the Mystery Box listing show up in the Mystery Box that they get?

I noticed that in the photo that has the lip oil and the red polish, the red polish may be the one named “Meghan”.

This is a list of everything on the page:
Your Lip Addiction
It’s Balm (God! Please don’t send me another Aurora Puke)
When Pencil Met Gel – Sunset Gold
Glow Highlighting Powder
Skip the Brush
Dial Up Your Glam
Love Your Bare Face
Bare Body Travel Set
Brushstrokes Nail Caddy
Well-Manicured Kit
Freedom Polymer Top Coat
Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat
Vanish Cuticle Softener & Remover
Your Cuticles Look Thirsty
Aquarius (polish)
Pepper (polish)
Francine (polish)
Meghan (polish)
Caitlin (polish)
Summer (polish)

I will be checking to see if any of these products that are listed with the Mystery Box are actually in the box I get.

I will be interested to hear what other people get in theirs.

I have not noticed, but it’s been a while since I ordered a Mystery Box. I’m on the fence with this one, so if you could let us know when you get yours, that would be awesome!

Rosemary

Will do!

Ellie

I have ordered two mystery boxes and all of the products I received are wonderful. This is the first mystery box I’ve ordered that has not shown any of the products. I would not have tried the highlighting powder (looks good on my pale, over 40 face) or the nice gel eyeliner. I have not received any horrible colors. The only product received that I don’t have any use for is the clear brow gel, but one of my daughters gladly accepted it. If this mystery box has a lip oil, I’ll pass–Lancome has been trying to sell one (and more) of these to me daily, and I am not interested.

If you guys notice the original full value for the major mystery add on is $38.00 so I looked at all of their items & saw like 2 skin care products worth that amount. The hydrating body cleansing oil & the restorative facial milk moisturizer. Those are my guesses ?. I personally hope I get the moisturizer. I’ve heard great things about it & I hate oil cleansers as I already have semi oily skin.

Usually the add ons will include more than one item (particularly the major add on)!

Reply ButtonReply

Lee

I was going to say no because I just got my package from their seasonal sale as well as my June box but then I discovered I can use the May15 code more than once. I got this Mystery box plus the $14.99 mystery add on.

Reply ButtonReply

Kara

Does anyone have experience with the Mystery Product add-on versus the Major Mystery product add-on? I was thinking of just trying the mystery product add-on….

Reply ButtonReply

Christina

I don’t think it will have a lip oil.

Has anyone ever received a Mystery Box with newly released items? I don’t recall. I see their Mystery boxes as a way to move extra inventory that hasn’t been selling.

Reply ButtonReply

Rosemary

It’s just a thought, but maybe the orange lip oil isn’t selling. Even though I know that it won’t be as bright as in the container, I am not even interested to see how it looks on me. Come to think about it, I don’t know anyone who wears orange lipstick at all (except my mother, who would be in her 90’s).

Reply ButtonReply

Katherine

I’m a little confused as to where it says that the mystery box will only have 3 items. I have been searching everywhere & don’t see where it indicates that. Usually the mystery boxes comes with about 6 items & as someone else said, is a mix of polishes & makeup.

Reply ButtonReply

Victoria

The email I got about it says ” …our Pool Party mystery box comes with our fab BRIKA artist collab ‘Makeup the rules’ bag (ideal for bringing your sunscreen to the pool of beach), plus three mystery add-ons–just $24.99 for $100+ worth of product.” in the white space above the picture of the bag (same graphic as the one in the post). The picture posted says six mystery add-ons, so I have no idea what the actual number of mystery products will be.

Reply ButtonReply

Carolina

So I was confused this morning too, (not to mention greedy LOL) as I read it to say you got the bag with goodies (as usual) plus 3 add-ons for $24.99 lol

Anyway, I emailed them and this was their answer:

“Looking into it, it looks like the Mystery Box, which includes the bag is $100 worth of product for $24.99. In addition to that, we are offering 3 different Mystery Add ons at checkout that you can purchase as well”

Steffy

I think maybe that meant the mystery add on… there was some confusion earlier I think, but you’re right, they always have more than 3 items in the main mystery boxes. At least 6 in the ones I’ve gotten in the past, and a nice mix of items.

Friggen Julep – I just bought a three month sub because of their lack of mystery boxes. My entire collection to date (about 80 polishes and I’ve got about 6 dupes in my stash for swaps) has been built by their mystery boxes.

I see a lot of people asking, their mystery boxes tend to be a really great value. They’re almost always a mix of polish and their beauty products unless they state otherwise. Their beauty products are decent, I don’t mind getting them. The last time a Brika bag was featured was in May of 2015 and it included the bag, mascara, lip gloss and 5 (maybe 6) polishes.

I saw someone else say this but really, I’m just a sucker for this brand.

Marie

Earlier this morning those codes were actually working to actually discount the actual mystery box! Not sure if those codes still work though.

Reply ButtonReply

Steffy

The codes now don’t work for the box but they do for other stuff ordered with it. I did the box + mystery add-on with the May15 code making the add-on free, and free shipping. (I have a pool so liked this theme, lol! And I’m a sucker too. Granted I’ve subbed to Julep Maven for years, its my longest sub box, even better now that you can modify your entire box each month, and I don’t do the mystery boxes enough so if I do get any dupes, its because I chose 3 add ons that month and they toss in a freebie mystery item you don’t have a say in so thankfully I’m rarely disappointed. Never had any billing or shipping issues with these guys either *knock wood*)

I tried using the May15 now at 8:00 pm pacific and it’s not working 🙁

Morgan

I think I know what the major mystery add-on is!

Steffy

Kara

Really? What is your guess?

Reply ButtonReply

Rosemary

Does anyone want to make a guess at what Julep is valuing the bag at? Most companies grossly overestimate what a bag is worth, and if Julep includes the value of the bag, I wouldn’t be surprised if they make it worth about $25 to $30.
If they do that…and include a Tinted Lip Oil Treatment ($22) and a polish ($14), we are already up to $61 to $65. That leaves room for (probably) two dud products that aren’t selling, and probably a nail file ($5) or some buffing blocks ($5).
I hope that I am wrong, but I will be curious to compare my initial thoughts with actual consumer reviews.

Reply ButtonReply

Carolina

I was thinking about this too. And I think most of the previous mystery boxes with bags have been priced at $29.99 and valued at $150, which makes me wonder if this bag will take up too much of the “$100” worth.

But getting the add-on for free with MAY15 is tempting!

Reply ButtonReply

Rosemary

OK…after all of my deliberation, I pulled the trigger.
At least I know that I could really use the bag. If I get the orange oil, I’ll try it using a q-tip so that I can give it away if it doesn’t suit me. I can find a home for most polishes. More duplicates will be stored for birthdays or Xmas. I have nieces that are of the age that they can mess around with liners, etc., and Julep liners are very, very nice.
Ultimately, I am a sucker for this brand.

Rosemary

I think this is the first time I have actually wanted a bag. I really like see-through bags, and this one looks a lot more sturdy than the zippy bags I have ended up using. I give away all of the Ipsy bags as they are useless to me (but I know people with kids, and I’m sure that the kids have a ball with them).
That said, I am a bit cautious about Mystery Bags, as it’s like Julep goes through its stock, finds what isn’t selling, and then puts that into bags. I now realize that I have received duplicates of the worst colors I could imagine getting in Mystery bags (like the “Aurora Pink” shade of “It’s Balm”…sooooo horrible, and I had multiples until I threw them out, because I couldn’t even give them away). Also, even though I was hating Ipsy, my last bag was pretty good, and have found some products that I prefer over Julep’s offerings.
So, my question is, “Should I pay $25 for what looks like a very nice bag?”.
Any thoughts? I am on a budget, so this will be a splurge. Should I just stick with zippy bags?
Also, nice work Jenn! If that is a spoiler, I am not sure if I should bother with an orange oil, as orange does not work with my coloring (and I have enough beautiful red Julep polishes to last me for eternity).

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

If you go to the product page for the bag, click on the link that says “Other mystery products vary. Just $24.99 for $100+ worth of products!Read more about our collaboration with BRIKA here.”
it takes you to a page with a photo of the bag, with an orange “your lip addiction” lip oil and a shimmery red polish spilling out of it. So that’s a possible spoiler, but who knows for sure.
I think I’ll pass on this one. 24.99 seems like a lot for 3 products, but maybe the third item makes up for the other two, if the photo is indeed correct.

Reply ButtonReply

Katherine

If it’s 100 dollars worth of stuff I don’t think a polish & a stain would make up even half that value. But that’s great detective work you did ? I totally caved ?. I did get the super mystery item for free though using the 15 dollars off code ?

Reply ButtonReply

Steffy

Its usually a lot more than 3 products. Last time I got one of these it was packed full of stuff, including items I hadn’t tried like the glycolic scrub, foot balm, and nail items (not cheapy fillers). I may pull the trigger on this deal with May15, as I skipped my Maven box this month and want that orange lip oil. I have red and pink and love them.

Jenn

True. there are some things that could make up the rest of he cost though. If the bag was more to my liking I’d probably go for it. :p

Kelly

Any ideas what would be in this bag? I have only received the Julep Mystery Polish bag and am not very familiar with the Julep brand. I do really love the polishes.

Reply ButtonReply

Steffy

With a summer theme I’m not really sure to be honest, probably summery lip and nail colors, maybe some bath and body stuff, who knows? I’m quite curious after having good luck with the last mystery box I got a few months ago.

Reply ButtonReply

Katherine

I wanna get this sooo bad! Just wish there was a spoiler or 2 like there usually is. I have so much Julep stuff that I hatw getting doubles. Has happened in the past & it totally sucked ? on the other hand, it’s such a great deal. I’d hate to pass it up! Ughh

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

I actually prefer Julep polish to Julep makeup but I just went on both Julep and Butter London splurges so I am going to sit this one out, especially since I have about 1000 makeup bags and none of the contents have been spoiled.

Reply ButtonReply

darla

Liz, the email I got from Julep says the bag is packed with 3 mystery items, not 6. Do you know which one it is? Thank you! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

The 3 vs 6 is about the additional Mystery Add-ons you can purchase. And looking at the checkout process now, I’m only seeing 3 additional Mystery Add-Ons. Hope that helps clarify!

Reply ButtonReply

darla

It does, thank you! 🙂

Sonya

I’m confused so can I use MAYCOLOR to chose a free polish and also use MAY30? Or is this a one or the other situation?

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

Only one code per Julep order. And the 30% off probably won’t work on the actual mystery box, only on other things you might buy.

Reply ButtonReply

chris

I just tried these promo codes right now:

MAYCOLOR works on full price polish placed in your cart before the code is applied.
MAY30 takes 30% off other items in your cart, but not the Mystery Box.
MAY15 takes up to $15 off other items in your cart, but not the Mystery Box.

So basically I am not getting a discount on the Mystery Box itself, but can add extra items at no extra cost with the codes.

Reply ButtonReply

Fawne

Thanks for the clarification!

Reply ButtonReply

Katherine

I wonder if this will be a polish makeup mix. I love Julep makeup & you be so psyched if this mystery box had some. I’m on polishes overload right now.

Reply ButtonReply

Carolina

I think they usually mix in a makeup item or two. I’ve received blushes, lipsticks, lip scrubs, and even some skincare items from mystery boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Steffy

Same here.

Katherine

Not you be, *would be*
