Info Card

Stickers and Crayons

Opening this box was so much fun for my son. The box itself has designs inside and is meant to be colored with the included crayons. There was a welcome booklet personalized with my son’s name and simple directions for returning unwanted items or exchanging for alternate sizes. There were sheets of stickers and a reusable slide pouch. There was also a paper strip ball that you unwind and two small toys were hidden in the middle. All these extras were a lot of fun!

Price Sheet

Each box comes with a price sheet listing each item of clothing, the retail price, and the price Kidbox will charge to keep that item (which is less than retail).

Polo

Lucky Boys Wave Polo Top – retail $24 (Kidbox price $16)

My son liked this reddish orange polo because it was thin and soft. It’s 100% cotton and has a surfboard and writing printed on the back that says, “ Big Swell Perfect Wave Surf Break USA”.

Khakis

Lucky Boys Cargo Shorts – retail $34 (Kidbox price $22)

I love these khaki cargo shorts! They have an adjustable waist which is great for my son because he’s on the thinner side.

Diesel

Diesel Boys Crew Neck Graphic Tee – retail $30 (Kidbox price $22)

This is a soft cotton t-shirt and my son likes it. I’m not a big fan of clothing with the designer logo on the front, but he’s happy. They sent a similar Diesel Graphic Tee in my last box that was black. It wears and washes well and I’m hopeful this one will too.

Shorts

Weatherproof Vintage Boys Fleece Knit Shorts – retail $24 (Kidbox price $15)

This was easily my son’s favorite item in the box. He loves anything soft, fleecy and comfortable. They fit him well and are a great length.

Hoodie

Paper Denim & Cloth Boys Hooded Raglan Short Sleeve Top– retail $30 (Kidbox price $20)

This is such a cute shirt. The print on the inside of the hood is dark blue with little white stars. I like the contrasting placket, sleeve and pocket as well.

Swim Shorts

7 For All Mankind Swim Shorts – retail $42 (Kidbox price $30)

These swim shorts didn’t fit my son quite as well as the other items in the box, but they were okay. Since my son is very fair I typically buy him swim shorts with matching rash guards to give him extra sun protection. But it’s always nice to have another suit and I think these will be good for his swim lessons at the indoor pool.

My son is pretty camera shy so it wasn’t easy getting him to model for me. We tried our best though!

Charlie Polo

Charlie Polo Back

Charlie Diesel

Charlie Hoodie

Verdict:  I am so happy with KidBox! The value is amazing and these are well-known high end brands of clothing. The retail value of these six items is $184. Using the Kidbox prices they would be $125, but if you keep the whole box you’d only be charged $98. I love the ease of the process, the free shipping and all the little touches like the crayons and stickers that made it more fun for my son. He loved getting a special box filled with items just for him. Also, I want to note that Kidbox ships 5 boxes a year (spring, summer, back to school, fall and winter) but they will notify you before they ship in case you want to skip a box, change your child’s sizing or even their style preferences. If you keep the entire box for $98 you can also select a cause and Kidbox will make a donation to a kid in need such as a military family or foster child. What a great idea!

I would love to hear what anyone has to say about Kidbox for girls. I have a five year old daughter and am curious about the styles and brands for girls. Thanks!

This was our first month for my 9 yr old daughter. She and I loved everything! Lucky, Polo, limited 2…All great and expensive brands. Their customer service was awesome. My bank card had to be canceled ( fraudulent activity) and I forgot to update my new number in their system by the 7th day , when payment was due.) They sent a polite reminder and even waited a few extra days to bill me. My daughter is a size 14 shirt ( just getting into a size 14) and a couple of her shirts were sized 14/16. A little big…but they were The shirt material and if they don’t shrink..they will fit in a month or so. We are already looking forward to the next box. They do a great job of sending clothing that you can match and make a lot of different outfits. …I really like that.

We have LOVED their girl boxes. I have a three and a five yr old… Sporty 3 yr old received adidas, butter, seven etc… three complete mix and match outfits plus a hoodie in her first box.
I goofed and had my super girlie 5 yr old as “classic” for her first box; she didn’t like most of it but I was able to exchange for her little sister’s sizes with zero hassle (polo dress, Polo polo shirt, two pairs of Seven shorts, a seven top and a Lucky romper, plus a three pack of limited too cami tanks)
I reordered under the boho picture for the 5 yr old and she received a polo romper and four dresses (seven, polo, lucky, and kinsie)… I emailed them a brief reply to the order confirmation saying that she’s super girlie and can’t wear spaghetti straps or logos to school… she loved everything and it all passes the school dress code.
The quality has been great; I was worried when I saw white in their boxes but seems like the better fabric washes easier; three washes on the white kinsie dress and two on white polo romper with no stains yet… and my girls are mud-pie experts 😉

Jessica-

What do you have marked for your son’s “style profile”? I really like the styles he’s been getting so just curious.

Thanks!
and ps – he did a great job at modeling the clothes!

Hi Randi,
Thank you so much! I have his style preference listed as modern/hip and have been loving what Kidbox has sent so far! Hope that helps!

I just subscribed for my Daughter. She filled out the questionnaire. She is so excited. She really likes that another child will receive clothing, too. She’s always giving her old clothes and shoes to little girls that do not have nice clothes. She is between a 12 and a 14. They go up to a 14.
QUESTION…your son’s clothing fit well, so do they usually run true to size?
I like the reviews and your son modeling the clothing, even though I subbed for a girl, the clothing appears to be made of good material, not flimsy. I love the fact that it is seasonal, but also that we can purchase additional packages as often as we like and the ability to switch up her style. We can’t wait to see what she gets! I don’t know what we are going to do when she surpasses a size 14 because there are no subs, that I’m aware of, that cater to a 16 size for girls. But…we will enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe they will add a size 16? Or is there even a size 16 for girls anymore?

suzi

Bonnie, did you get your box yet? Curious as to what you thought. My 12 yr old got hers today and we were quite disappointed. We had the “preppy and polished” profile.

Reply ButtonReply

BONNY ADAMS

Suzi, I have not heard from them since we signed up. Uh oh, we picked the Preppy and Polished profile, too.
The boys review was amazing, so I was hoping that the girl’s box would be.
What did your daughter receive?

Jessica

Hi Bonny,
I have found that most pieces have been running true to size. My son is 5 1/2 and the size 6 fits him well. A couple things have been a little loose but that’s fine with me since he can just grow into them. One shirt was a little small (in the spring box) so I easily exchanged it for the next size up at no cost. Hope that helps! Good luck!
Jessica ?

BONNY ADAMS

Yes, that does help. I definitely do not mind them being a little loose. Thank you. I’m curious to see what ‘ girly’ clothing items she receives. I couldn’t find a review on a review for the girl clothing. But…the boy clothing items look great!

BONNY ADAMS

Please tell your son that he did an awesome job modeling the clothing and that we need him to model them so we know how good the clothing would look on our children! Tell your son that I said thank you for helping this old Grandma!

You are so sweet, Bonny! I will tell him and I appreciate your kind words. ☺️

This looks great! We currently use kidpik for my daughter. The review here is what convinced me to try it out. (: Plus, it didn’t hurt that there was no styling fee. We kept EVERYTHING in the box! I was soooo happy with that service. This one is pricier, but it obviously has more luxury brands, versus kidpik’s inside house brand, and now-defunct ruum brand.

Reply ButtonReply

Katherine

Forgot to say, might give it a try, but I really wish kidpik would have a service for boys.

Katie

What a cutie! My son also prefers soft comfy clothing and has a super pale complexion. Rash guards are a must for us especially here in Phoenix! Great review! Loved the little fun extras added in. It makes geytimg clothes much more fun for kids.
