The information card included a list of items in the box. I notice this month they included values. I think this is the first time they’ve done that. I wonder if that is in response to reviews like this one?
Simply Nourish Freeze-Dried Chicken Treats (0.6 oz) – Value $2.63
Single ingredient treats are great. I don’t have to worry about grain or fillers. So these were a good inclusion in the box.
Loofah Flip Flop – Value $6.50
This was probably the most popular toy. My cats really seem to like this texture. We got some smaller toys made of the same material a few months back and those were also hits. (I don’t know a brand name for this so I am taking the value from the information card.)
Clean as a Whistle Leap Cleaning Wipes (30, unscented) – Value $4.99
I am having a hard time finding these online. You just try typing “clean as a whistle” into Google and see what you get! The package makes these look like they are good for cleaning up messes on the floor (not on your cat). I may try these for when Nyx tracks mud in the house.
Collapsible Pet Bowl from Kole Imports – Value $6
I can only find these online in packages of 48 from a closeout supplier. So, the value is from the information card because I feel it is more reflective of an actual retail price a consumer might pay. This is nice for traveling because it doesn’t take up much space, plus there is a snap-on lid.
Our Pets Pyramid Scheme – Value $2.75
Feathers are always a hit with my crew, so this was appreciated.
Play-N-Squeak Wee Catch of the Day – Value $6.37
I’m pretty sure I’ve received this same exact toy from a cat subscription before, but I can’t remember which one. It makes noise, which my cats are not really into, but they did seem interested in batting this around, so that’s a win.
Safemade Elephant – Value $4.20
This has a bell in it although I found my cats mostly liked to snuggle with it instead of batting it around, so it was pretty quiet. I took the value from the information card as I can never find the Safemade toys for sale online.
And the obligatory Hello Fresh discount card…
Now on to the kitty pictures!
Sneaky bites the flip-flop toy.
Mr. Kitty showing some interest in a toy.
Mr. Kitty being grumpy.
It’s OK, buddy. Sometimes we just don’t have good days. (His right eye was bothering him the day we took this picture. After 2-3 weeks of really good days I guess we were due for a setback.)
MY feather toy. MINE.
This is interesting…
It’s good to bite!
And my favorite photo from the whole review…
Believe it or not, he was actually enjoying playing with this thing. It just doesn’t really show in the photos.
Hmph. (This sat on his head for a couple of minutes before he knocked it off.)
I always hit the camera button at a great time. And then the flash takes forever to go off and I miss the shot. This was one of those instances.
Even Basement Cat likes feathers!
And finally, just in case you ever wondered how these reviews get written…
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $33.44 for the June KitNipBox. Even though that is a little below the value total from the information card, it is a few bucks above the cost of the subscription. For a cat sub, that’s nothing short of remarkable. My cats liked the toys and I liked that some of the items were a little off the beaten path.
What did you think of the June KitNipBox? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
