Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - all items

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - card

This is the first month to include an insert! That applies to all of the Funko subscriptions. Lots of cool facts on this card about the characters - movie and comic related.

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - patch and pin

Every month includes a collector patch and pin. This month we get a Ms. Marvel patch and Spider-Woman pin.

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - shirt

Spider-Gwen Shirt - Value $15?

This month's shirt features Spider-Gwen! If you haven't read any of the Spider-Gwen runs - do yourself a favor and give them a try. I love that it's a pretty basic shirt, and one of the few that don't have a POP version of the character front and center. One cool thing on the card - in the upper left corner, you can see different concept and character designs they tried for this month's shirt!

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - comic

Civil War 2 #1 - Value $5.99

This variant cover was designed by Funko's own Sean Wilkinson. Because of that, I haven't really been able to find a value - but you know it's a pretty exclusive variant also! It's great timing to include this because Captain Marvel is front and center of the latest Civil War battle.

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - mystery mini captain marvel

Captain Marvel Mystery Mini - Value $10-15?

The first vinyl toy is a Captain Marvel mystery mini bobble head.

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - captain marvel out of box

I love the design, especially the translucent flaming hands!

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - mystery mini she-hulk

She-Hulk Mystery Mini - Value $10-15?

The second mystery mini is She-Hulk!

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - she-hulk out of box

I'm not sure that there's a more appropriate female character to include in a Women of Power themed box! She had a small, but awesome, role in one of my favorite comics - Old Man Logan!

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - POP

Squirrel Girl POP - Value $25-30?

I actually don't know much about Squirrel Girl - but I love that this is now the second POP with a mini partner included (The first being the Ant-Man POP).

Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review June 2016 - Squirrel Girl

How awesome is this POP! According to the card - this is the first time that Colletor Corps put the characters in the box to a vote on social media, which I think is a fantastic idea, and leads to really cool - unique - POPs, like this Squirrel Girl POP!

Verdict: I always get excited to unbox Collector Corps - I actually wish it was monthly - and this was no different. As a POP collector, getting rare vinyl figures is what it's all about. I was a bit surprised to see Squirrel Girl as, what I would call, the hero item - but now that I know it was driven by social media voting, it makes a bit more sense over someone like Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, or Spider-Gwen. This was almost the exact same formula as their Ant-Man box - I loved that box, and I love this one, too.

Also, the inclusion of a card made unboxing a lot better - there was a ton of cool information on it, keep those coming!

the patch is not Ms Marvel, it is Kamala Khan. they originally planned to use Ms Marvel but changed their mind.

There is no Ms. Marvel besides Kamala. Carol Danvers was the original but she’s Captain Marvel now.

This was my most favorite Marvel Box yet! I honestly screamed out loud with delight when I saw the Squirrel Girl (and mini Tippy Toe) Pop! I LOVE her! The is, in a way, the most unbeatable female superhero, and just plain awesome! So glad they went outside the box on this one (pun if you want it lol). The Spider Gwen is also one of my most favorite of all the marvel box shirt offerings tied with the AntMan shirt. We are pretty over the funko tshirts. I get that it is a joint-funko subscription, but when it started out, the shirts were supposed to be straight marvel. A funko pop shirt feels very low value with a very short shelf life. I kinda do wish they’d have at least one more offering in their boxes – like maybe another small figurine, movie tie-in, or some sort of wearable. Early on in the subscription they did. I know it’s all exclusive, but given there are thousands of subscribers it’s not that rare anymore and we are talking $50 a box here.

Civil War had an insert that explained the process for selection.

Oh – well that’s good news, I guess it will be an ongoing thing. My Civil War box didn’t have the insert.

Cool box. I really like the Spider Gwen tee and She Hulk

This is probably the first tshirt I’ve received from MCC that I’ve liked. I really don’t like the Pop-character tees they typically include. I prefer simple shirts with a cool design and good fabric like this.

I thought the theme was women of power, and there just happened to be that comic included?

Oh that Squirrel Girl pop is so cool, I’m so jealous it was an exclusive! If you want to check out something light and fun, Squirrel Girl is definitely worth reading. It’s silly, but self aware.
