This month, the theme is Summer Road Trip: "You could drive all day and still be in Texas, making it the perfect location for a summer road trip. So grab your sunglasses, and your favorite tunes, and hit the road!"
Zax Snax - Lemonberry Snack Bag - $5.00?
I threw some of this on top of my frozen berries and almond milk, and it added the perfect crunch and sweetness! The lemon flavor comes through super strong and the berries are kind of in the background. This snack mix is organic, all-natural, gluten-free, dairy-free, GMO-free, and vegan. It is also dehydrated, which means that it is more than likely considered raw.
Hippie Hollow Granola - Granola Snack Bag - $3.25
This granola is made with oats, almonds, pecans, cashews, raisins, dried cranberries, honey, oil, and vanilla. I sprinkled some of this over top of my honey vanilla Greek yogurt, and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't too sweet, and added just the right amount of crunch. It is made with all natural ingredients too, which is a bonus! I always like that My Texas Market includes the business cards of the companies that they promote in their boxes, so we know where to go to buy more!
Earth Meets Water Mermaid Lagoon Air Freshener - $4.00
This air freshener is scented with Moon Flower & Awapuhi Seaberry. I really like the scent of this. It's fresh and clean without being citrusy - which is a bit of an anomaly in the scent world! The company that produces these says that you should get 2-4 weeks of scent, depending on use. If you place this in direct sunlight, it will dissipate faster.
Sinfull Bakery - Everything Bar - $3.00
This bar should be eaten within about 1 week of getting your boxes. I never need an excuse to eat, so I tucked into this one right away. It is vegan and made with all natural and mostly organic ingredients. I really enjoyed this! It is a bit on the heavy side for calories and fat, so I am breaking this up into 2 or 3 servings. Which also means I get to enjoy it longer!
Lemon Tree Herbs - Lavender Mist - $10.00?
This is a lavender mist that can be used for rooms, linens, face, and spirit. It definitely smells strongly of lavender, so those of you that love the scent of lavender - this is for you. It does feel refreshing when spritzed on the face for sure. I am sensitive to lavender, so this will be passed along to my Mom!
Sasha's Hand-Poured Skincare - Zinc Oxide Sun Stick - $10.50
This is perfect for summer! I love sunscreen sticks that I can just throw in a bag and take with me anywhere. This one seems to go on smoothly and is made of organic extra virgin olive oil, organic virgin coconut oil, organic raw Shea butter, local unrefined beeswax, and zinc oxide. I noticed that when you first apply this it does go on pretty white, and Sasha addresses this in the sale posting by saying that it will go on white but that the whiteness will be minimized as you rub it in.
Verdict: My Texas Market is one of my favorite boxes to get each month. June was a bit heavier on the food side than it normally is, but I loved all of the items included! They also added a bonus for subscribers this month by partnering with Texas Highways Magazine to send a Texas State Travel Guide, a Texas Wildflower Guide, and A Texas Highways Events Calendar. These will ship separately from this month's box. My Texas Market says that these resources will be a great tool to plan summer travel or learn more about the state of Texas!
The value for this month is going to be an estimate, since I can't find some of the items online. I calculate this box to be about $35.75, which is right at the value that they promise each month.
