nomadik-may-letter

This was the first box from Nomadik, and this letter was included from the CEO to founding members, thanking them for their support.

nomadik-may-info

This info card was also included, detailing the items in the box.

nomadik-may-picture

This beautiful photograph was included also, but there's no information about it anywhere! I don't know who the photographer is or even what mountain range this is! This must be the inspirational item of this month, and it really does make me want to get out there!

The Friendly Swede Survival Grenade - Value $8.99

This is super cool, but confusing. I had no idea what this was when I photographed it, but then I realized there's all this stuff inside that you might need if you were lost in the woods. It has a carabiner, knife, paracord, tin foil, tinder, fire starter, fishing lines, hooks, weights, swivels, and bobbers! Then I tried to open it to photograph all that, but I couldn't figure out how to open it! So here is a picture from Amazon:

It'll be awesome if I can figure out how to open it!

nomadik-may-mug

Stainless Steel Carabiner Mug - Value $8.82

This would be super handy to make sure you always have something to drink from while keeping your hands free. Since it's stainless steel, I imagine you could boil water in it, too! I was so confused by this at first, also. I thought, wow, you would spill your drink everywhere if you clipped the mug to your belt! Haha, I had a serious spacey moment.

Speaqua Barnacle + with Bluetooth & 4GB Memory - Value $64.95

This is awesome! It's a little waterproof speaker that can connect to your device via bluetooth. It also holds up to 1000 songs on its own internal memory! That's so cool!

Verdict: I really enjoyed this package from Nomadik! This gear is different from what I've received in other outdoorsy subscription boxes, and it is indeed high-end. The value comes to about $83, which is great for a $57 box! I am also glad that it didn't include any snacks or other filler material. I know we will definitely use everything!

Since I can’t get this box if I subbed now I will wait till the next one and hopefully subscribe after that! I like that the RV is higher than other outdoors boxes I’ve seen.

This looks promising! I’m very active outdoor/backpacking, etc.

I’m curious about the “upgrade” you received – is there a code for that? That speaker is something I could use! That would get me to subscribe.

Hi Nicole- we have a promotion going on now, if you subscribe by 6/14 and purchase a 2,3, or 6 box plan you will receive this exact speaker in the June Box 🙂

Thanks! I subscribed to try this one out.

I can’t be certain on this, but I think the you get to the grenade contents by unraveling the paracord. I’m thinking since it’s for emergencies, it’s intention is to be used one time. Of course, you could always save the paracord and rewrap your own kit. 🙂

Kathy- yes, you’re correct. It takes a couple minutes to undo the paracord, it’s meant to be like this so the tools inside stay put! Definitely for “survival,” but also good for camping and has some item’s you could use more often than not. I was surfing/camping in Baja Mexico and actually used the fishing supplies/hooks inside to catch dinner one night ( I had packed food, but wanted to try and make fresh fish tacos!)

the carabiner cup is SO handy! clip it onto your backpack to dry as you hike! Neat box all the way around. I wonder if their goal is to fill a backpack?

Thanks for the review! That’s one of the ideas we are talking about internally! I guess you’ll just have to subscribe or follow along to see :p

It’s an 8×10 so you could also frame it if you want 🙂

haha. I didn’t want to make fun of you, but this is one of (if not the) most iconic rock formations in the world (Half Dome). They probably didn’t think it needed to be labeled. 🙂
