This box doesn’t typically come with an information card, but the list of products and more information will usually be available online if you are interested. There was some more information on a few products in the box.

prettyfit-june-2016-mpcombat

MP Combat 100% Whey in Vanilla (29 servings, 2 lbs) – Value $34.39

I am quite familiar with this product as I am making my way through another full-size container that I got in Monarch Fitness last month. I think it blends into my smoothies pretty well and I know I need more protein so I lose fat without losing muscle. Anyway, I will never have to buy more at the rate I am going!

prettyfit-june-2016-peanutbutter

Buff Bake Protein Peanut Butter in White Chocolate (32 g) – Value $1.63

Buff Bake Protein Peanut Butter in Red Velvet (32 g) – Value $1.63

Buff Bake Protein Peanut Butter in Chocolate Chip (32 g) – Value $1.63

I’ve seen a lot of Buff Bake in PrettyFit. But, it is another product I like. I think I mentioned in one of my previous reviews that I’d love to try the Red Velvet flavor and now I get to. (I’m saving these for peanut butter sandwich week at work – I have a rotation.) I actually like getting single-serve packets of peanut butter because then I don’t have to weigh or measure it (I am counting calories right now).

prettyfit-june-2016-probiotics

Hyperbiotics Pro-Women Probiotic (30 tablets, vegetarian) – Value $22.95

I was looking for a new probiotic and I had not heard of this brand before. I appreciate getting a full size bottle, plus it’s vegetarian. It’s too soon to see if this is working, but it is an item that I definitely appreciate getting.

Tufmed Tufhands (2.5 oz) – Value $14.99

This is supposed to be great for hands with blisters, cuts, etc. I am hoping it is equally good for hands with cat bites and scratches because that is how my hands are most likely to be damaged in the upcoming months (winter is another story). But, I’m a fan of this brand and I am glad to have a chance to try another one of their products.

prettyfit-june-2016-vitermints

Viter Energy Vitermints (20 pieces, 0.63 oz) – Value $4.97

Here is another product I will never have to buy because I am averaging about one full-size container per month. I am not the biggest fan of the taste and texture, but I do think they provide me with a good pick-me-up. I am taking this container to work and leaving it in my desk for sleepy afternoons.

BPI Sports Best Protein Bar in S’Mores (1/2 size) – Value $1.25

BPI Sports Best Protein Bar in Cookies & Cream (1/2 size) – Value $1.25

I like a lot of BPI sports products (BCAA supplements, etc.), but I didn’t realize they made protein bars. These were OK but not my favorite (a little too sweet, I think, and more calories than I’d like). They do both have interesting textures with bits of graham cracker and cookies in them, so if you don’t like protein bars with uniform texture, you may want to try these.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $85.29 for this PrettyFit box. That’s definitely over the cost of the subscription and is a pretty good value for a box consisting primarily of food. I am especially happy to get the probiotic (and that it’s vegetarian) and I am already a fan of the protein powder as well as Buff Bake. So this was a good month for me!

This subscription seems to alternate between supplement-heavy months and protein bar/powder/etc. heavy months. What I like is that you can customize it – if a certain month is not for you, you can skip or request an alternate pack. This makes it a great subscription for vegetarians, because you can take the protein boxes and skip any gelatin-containing supplements. Many of the items are also gluten free. This subscription is probably not a good choice for vegans, however, because I see a lot of honey, dairy, and sometimes egg.

I’ve been trying to choose between Pretty Fit and Monarch. I’ve been following the reviews, but if anyone has tried both and can offer some comparisons or preferences, I’d love to hear.

I review both so I guess you have already seen my opinions. I think these subs are both great, but slightly different, so it kind of depends on what you’re looking for.

PrettyFit is almost all food and/or supplements. (The hand cream this month was something of an exception.) You can preview the contents in advance and skip months that aren’t for you (or swap out that month’s pack for a previous one, if it is still available). They don’t customize based on dietary preferences but since you can preview the contents in advance, if you’re vegetarian and see that a big chunk of the value is fish oil, you can opt out for that month, as an example. It used to be they would offer a lot of PrettyFit-branded merchandise that you couldn’t buy online, but I see that they have opened a store on their site where you can get some of the PrettyFit-branded items featured in their box.

Monarch does have food and supplements but you are more likely to get gear (lifting straps, pull-up bands, clothing, etc.). They have a pretty extensive customization quiz so you will get the right size of clothing in addition to accessories that are appropriate for your workouts. They do cater to dietary preferences (I have mine set for vegetarian, for example). Monarch also includes a workout plan in each box (relies a lot on gym equipment, at least the ones I have been getting do). They don’t have private-labeled stuff, for the most part, although the Monarch logo will appear on some of the shaker cups and I did get a Monarch-branded workout tank last month.

The values on both are good — definitely above the cost of the box. Monarch’s base price is a bit higher. You will see some item overlap (for example the 2 lb container of protein powder…).

Thank you for this extra information! I just saw your new review of Monarch Fitness today. I am still on the fence. I may just sub to both and see which I end up liking better. I like that you can preview and skip a month at Pretty Fit which would be helpful if I already have a good supply of a product or doesn’t fit dietary needs (I’m also vegetarian and can’t handle stimulants in products). I would definitely choose the every-other-month Monarch box. I like that they include gear and workouts and customize to your dietary preferences.

This was my first ever pretty fit box and I was really pleased. I thought it was a great value (for the protein powder alone) and I’ve definitely been making great use of it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the protein bars, am and really excited to try the buff bakes!!

I have subscribed for close to 2 years now and have been really pleased with both products and customer service. I appreciate that you can skip a month if you want. I have always felt I have received good value.
