unboxing-bizarre-jun-holidays

These are the holidays we will be celebrating next month with Unboxing the Bizarre:

June 4 - Hug Your Cat Day

June 5 - Hot Air Balloon Day

June 20 - American Eagle Day

     June 29 - Camera Day

Wow!  Those are certainly obscure holidays!

The reverse side of each holiday card has some information on the item they sent for that holiday, some trivia about the holiday, and some suggestions for celebrating.

Westland Purrfect Together Cat Salt and Pepper Shakers - Value $9.90

Awwwww!  Look at how sweet these kitties are!  I feel so undeserving of these awesome salt and pepper shakers.  I have a cat, but she won't hug me.  Here she is:

unboxing-bizarre-jun-shadow

This is Shadow, the Stank Cat.  Believe me, I've tried hugging her, with emotionally and physically painful results.  I guess on June 4 I will just season food and longingly watch this video instead.

unboxing-bizarre-jun-chime

GSC Copper & Gem Collectible Hot Air Balloon Windchime - Value $31.39

This was my favorite thing in the box this month.  Isn't it beautiful?  It has a lovely sound, too.  I love wind chimes and I love hot air balloons!  Maybe some day I will get to go for a ride.  I could easily end up one of those old women who has hundreds of wind chimes all around her house!

Westland Bronze Eagle Pencil Holder - Value $23.99

Whoa, this is a serious pencil holder for a serious bird holiday.  It's really nice, but it definitely has a masculine feel to it, so I gave it to my husband.  He likes it because it's nice and heavy, and unlike the plastic cup he was using, it won't fall over every time he pulls a pencil out of it.

Caniam Canon Style 24-105 Lens Travel Thermos Mug - Value $11.99

I've seen this mug before in subscription boxes, but never got one somehow.  We can always use more travel coffee mugs, and this one is especially clever!

Verdict:  This was our second month of Unboxing the Bizarre, and we are having a great time with it!  I just completely love my new chimes and promptly hung them out by the front door.  I simply can't wait until Hot Air Balloon Day!  Actually, I like everything we received this month, plus I'm noticing that the things they send can also make nice gifts if we get something we can't use.  The value of everything this month adds up to about $78, which is great for a $49 box!  It's wonderful having so many awesome things to celebrate!

That video was so awesome! Cuteness overload for sure!
I love the idea of this box but not enough to shell out the bucks for it quite yet. It does look like quality items are being sent.
My Dad would have loved that pencil cup too.
The chimes are gorgeous, my favorite thing in the box.

This box looks to be so much fun. Like others I cannot afford the box but would enjoy seeing what they picked for each holiday. Will have to live vicariously through your reviews.

very cool box. It’s too expensive for me, but if I had money to spare I can totally imagine subscribing to this. Lots of money to spare, mind you 🙂

I never really thought about hugging the cat (it’s not my cat, but my daughter’s cat), but he sort of tries to get hugged by me. Basically, when I’m in bed holding my i-pad, he comes and forces his head under my arm, so that I’m effectively hugging him.

I can hug my Wesley. He tolerates it and sometimes even send to kinda like it! Sometimes. Kinda. Sophia, otoh, can NOT bear it. She loves to snuggle on the couch and will lay on her back with her legs splayed out and neck completely stretched out – as vulnerable as she could possibly be. But if I try to pick her up, she freezes up and panics. Sigh.

OH. MY. GAWD. That video! I actually needed a minute to get over the cuteness overload. My kitties will not hug me either, but they will snuggle… occasionally… completely on their terms. The items in this box are awesome and I wouldn’t mind owning any of them. The pencil holder makes me a little sad because my dad would have loved it. The subscription does seem a little pricey due to the total randomness of it, but if they continuously send high quality items it could be a lot of fun. Thank you for the review!

We got one of the camera mugs for my journalism major daughter and she loves it. It looks so authentic. Her friends in the newsroom are so envious.

Love the idea of this box but it is too pricey for me with the wildcard selection of items.

Luckily all of my cats will let me hug them, some enjoy it more than others though. I’ll definitely be hugging them today!
That wind chime is really cute too.

I hug my cats. When I can catch them. Well, Mr. Kitty and Monkey usually don’t mind so much. And it’s June 4 today! Better go do some cat hugging!
