ZBox Subscription Box Review June 2016 - booklet

Each month includes a booklet. This month's theme is "Mutate" and highlights Apocalypse on the front of the booklet and on the shirt that I'll get to in a bit. In the booklet, you'll find information about each item in the box along with numerous small, entertaining, articles related to the theme.

Mutate Shirt - Value $15?

Their shirts are all exclusive and now seem to follow the box/booklet imagery. Here's a closer look at the awesome Apocalypse graphic all over the box this month!

ZBox Subscription Box Review June 2016 - Donatello Fabrikation

Donatello Fabrikation - Value $11.95 on Amazon

We get a Funko item this month in the form of a Fabrikation! It's pretty rare to see this in subscription boxes, maybe due to the size of packaging, but I always like receiving them. I can now add Donny to the collection!

Cowabunga!

ZBox Subscription Box Review June 2016 - Hulk Disney infinity

Hulk Disney Infinity Figure - Value $10.90 on Amazon

I don't play Disney Infinity, but these are still awesome, and sizable figures! This is the second one that I own now, adding to last month's Rocket Raccoon figure.

ZBox Subscription Box Review June 2016 - hulk figure out of box

He fits in nicely with Rocket and the Hulk from Loot Crate!

ZBox Subscription Box Review June 2016 - x-men season one

X-Men Season One Hardback - Value $24.99

This was a pretty fun read. It's the story of Jean Grey's beginning at Xavier's school. You'll find your favorite original X-Men and villains like Magento and The Blob!

ZBox Subscription Box Review June 2016 - inside comic book

Here's a look inside at the graphic work.

This brought back very fond memories of wearing out my VHS tape of Pryde of the X-Men - I hope all of you fans have seen it:

Wolverine's accent is simply incredible.

Verdict: This was a really good box for me from ZBox. I hit all of my favorite geeky focus areas, which I assumed going into it with a theme like 'Mutate'! There weren't a ton of items, but I appreciate receiving a few higher value items when the theme is in my wheelhouse. I'm always looking to add to my collection, and this month did just that!

Thought I canceled and got the same runaround. Oddly, when I went directly to the zavvi web page & tried to login and failed, I presumed the account was removed after cancelling the previous month. I got the message there was no account for that email address when I tried to reset the password. So I created a new one with that exact same email address and there wasn’t any account information. I got nowhere sending an inquiry through this account. Finally I thought to try the link in the original order confirmation (exact same email address) and got to the source order.

Once I got there, I had to wait a while because the emails can take a day to get a response back. I gave up and filed a dispute with the credit card company.

STAY AWAY unless you want to subscribe forever.

Just to clarify, I got a confirmation email that it was cancelled one month prior.

I’m having problems as well. I cancelled my subscription and also received confirmation that it was cancelled on June 22. This was within the 14 day window, which is the timeframe you have to cancel your sub. 14 days after the ship date or dispatch date. The confirmation email also stated I would have any future charges. Well, come July 3rd, guess what? They charged me again! I emaiked them, they said ‘sorry, but you can only cancel within 14 days of your dispatch date, we will cancel after the July box ships’ Really!?! I have went back and forth with them at least 5 times now. I’ve demanded a refund since I cancelled on time and received confirmation as well as assurance of no more charges! I get told the same thing every time! My last message threatened social media exposure, still told the same thing, never offered a refund. I went in my account and entered a bogus credit card number, hopefully it wiped out my info and they won’t be able to charge it again! I’m nervous about it because my subscription still shows active, theu say they can’t cancel it until the July box ships. Wish I never got involved with this conpany!

Ok guys. I got a refund for the July 3rd charge (I cancelled on June 8). Louella was the only logical person from the company that I spoke to (among the many tickets I opened) and I suggest you ask for her when opening one of your tickets. I was just about to open a case with my credit card about fraud when I noticed I was refunded. They never once told me that they did it as I was still awaiting a response from Louella’s bosses? I suggest that those not involved with this company keep it that way if they don’t like hassles.

Louella was my first contact, her exact reply was:

Hello Kathy,

Thank you for getting in touch about the cancellation of your subscription.

This has been requested today. No further payment will be taken from your account.

If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Kind regards,
Louella

I also got her again after my 5th response, she gave the same answer as all the ones before her. I’m going to dispute the charge tomorrow if I don’t see that a refund was issued.

Blah, I dont know where else to post about my problems with this company. Back in May I signed up for that 3 month deal. Like many people I started to panic when the Zavvi (the company behind the zbox) didn’t communicate with us. So after like 5 emails with them I canceled before I even received my first box. For the prices that I paid the boxes ended up being ok but not for full price. They overcharged my credit card per box by a few dollars, but I let it slide. I just wanted to be done with this company. So come July I noticed I have a new charge for $22.99 from them. I email them wft, they say well I need to cancel my subscription (they are ‘do not reply’ emails) so I make yet another ticket showing the email from early June saying that I have successfully canceled. Well I just got another email in response saying that they are sorry and that I am for sure canceled for August. Didn’t day a word about a July refund I demanded. Seriously?!?!

Stay away from this company unless you love headaches.

Sorry for the rant. I just dont know what else to do. Should I contact my credit card for fraud?

Their customer service is atrocious. Add in the fact that you won’t know when or even if you’d get the box making the whole sub a gamble. Would be one thing if their customer service and what customer service can do was adequate. BUT out of a couple dozen (and counting) subs i’ve had, this is by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered.

Yea I’d recommend doing a chargeback with your credit card. You have done everything on your end to cancel, and have proof of it. Plus a chargeback is a bad thing for companies, their processing fees go up, which hopefully will get their attention and you could potentially save future customers the same hassle. So yes contact your credit card company and hopefully that’ll get them to improve their customer service.

I really like this box, I signed up for the into last month and got a ton of stuff, this month I really like the Donatello Funko and the Xmen comic is a hardcover which is awesome. I feel like I got pretty good bang for my buck.

I am super frustrated with this subscription. I signed up as soon as I saw the intro promo. I wanted it for my husband as a father’s day gift. I still have yet to receive anything from this company. I contacted them via their website and they basically said, “wait longer.” I went to cancel, before the next charge cycle rolled around and their messaging system wouldn’t let me submit anything and that is the only way to contact them! Arg!

My aim less the box pretty well. I signed up with the two free box deal last month and those were crap. He liked the book in this box and Donatello was a hit.

I was typing blind… That should say my son liked this box pretty well.
