I bought the Gilt City 2 month subscription and just got my first box yesterday by complete surprise. I read the past reviews and took the advice to limit my concerns to skincare to keep up the value of the box. (Plus my main concern really is skincare.) I received G.M. Collins Serum Vital C 10% + Peptides. It has great reviews and retails for $85. Can’s wait to try it!

The deal is still available so I just might have to buy more. : )

I just got Apothederm firming serum, retail price $75.00. Very happy with the match. It is hard to believe that I Just paid $10/ month for this subscription. Liz, thank you so much for such a wonderful website!

Britt?

I really liked my Beauty DNA subscription I bought from Gilt. BUT, it was a 4 month sub and I had to nudge them after 2 months, to get my first item. Then, I received 2 more, on time & waited 2 months for the last one, before I had to complain again, to get my last one. Overall, I liked the products for the most part, but it was so difficult to get my 4 items & I would think they would send an apology or an extra something.. as a consolation, since I clearly told them I liked the subscription, but was concerned about having to chase them for my products every month… Never heard anything back. I don’t think it’s the “norm” for a regular subscription holder, but may be for a Gilt, discount purchaser.. So, beware. xo

Thank you for posting! I tried this for a month with a different promotion and loved it, but the price point without it was a little much. This fits perfectly in my budget, so excited!

I ordered the 2 month sub and now I’m sorry I did. The website won’t let me activate my account or enter the Gilt City code or my shipping address. It is very frustrating. I wasted a ridiculous amount of time on this and got nowhere. Is anyone else having problems with it? I’m starting to feel like I just flushed $23 down the drain.

If you go to beautydna/ gilt.com it takes you to the right place to enter your code. Check your gilt email for the exact webpage cause I’m going by memory but I know there were directions iin my email fir a specific page at beautydna for the gilt city subscribers.

Do we have to make a new account at beauty DNA if we are already subscibed?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

You won’t need to make a new account. Just log into your account, go to Account Profile, then enter the Gilt City code in the promotional code box located toward the bottom left of the screen. This worked for me when I was already a monthly subscriber, while taking advantage of an annual sub plan sale they were having. It changed my account status immediately from a monthly to an annual plan. 🙂

I snagged a 2 month sub. I received one package from them a few months ago but wasnt impressed. Figured for the price I’ll give them another shot. 🙂

I love this one! I have been waiting for a new deal for a few months. I just got it:)

I’m laughing at myself. I had just read the spoilers for the BeautyFIX box and saw this and my mind read BeautyFIX. Bought the deal and then realized…wait a minute they are not the same thing. LOL Oh well. I do have some skin concerns so four months worth of products should do me.

Reply ButtonReply

Margaret

Yup did the exact same thing! Bought it, all excited for my new beautyfix boxes and then go to enter the code and realize nope I’ve just subscribed to beautydna. Oh well! That’s how good I am at throwing my money at whatever deal Liz posts!

TARA

I’ve only been on this site for a week, but I’m already throwing money at whatever amazing deal Liz posts….. For the love of Pete, take me off the waitlist PLEAAAAAAASE, I need to trade!!! 😛

Nicole

I totally thought this was the newbeauty test tubes sub and then realized it was the one product thing too! I’m so used to seeing the frenzy and it being sold out that I just went to buy it immediately. It looks promising and who couldn’t use a little surprise every month for under $12!

Reply ButtonReply

Laurie

I can’t seem to find this on Gilt. But, while I was in my Gilt app, I scored a full-sized bottle of Gucci Glamorous for $12, so that’s a win!
I wonder why I’m not seeing this deal, though. Anyone else have trouble?

Samantha

Switch your city to “national” and it should pop up!

Reply ButtonReply

Laurie

Thanks! I did finally find it, but it says it’s sold out. Probably for the best… #addict 🙂

Marissa

GILT CITY, not normal gilt, it should be under the city tab at the top or click on Liz’s link above

Got the 4 month, not as great as when I got it for $8 a month but for 12 this is still worth it! My items were all $78-150 each month!

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

BTW Liz thank you so much for telling us how they can be applied to existing accounts, I want to try new products and this way I wont get a repeat and dont have to fill out my profile again!

TAM

This sub was on my wish list and I think that the 2-month sub will work out great for a trial period. Thanks for the heads up!!

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

I was able to use GETCITY20 even though my account is not new. I have ordered form the website once before (but it was in 2010).

Reply ButtonReply

Kay

Yup, the code works on my current active account. So now this is the problem for me… lol. Like Ragan said, it takes a while to use up a full-size product while you sub to a few beauty boxes each month…. I still have 4 month voucher to redeem by the end of this month, so if I purchase this deal, I am adding another 2 or 4 months! But full size items are great for gifting as well. Decisions, decisions…

Nicole

I just caved and got this. I need this like a hole in the head but whatever! I haven’t signed up on the site yet but does anyone know if you get to choose if it’s a skincare, body or hair product or you just get whatever they have that month that fits your profile. I mean for under $12 a product you will definitely get your money’s worth even if you get one or two cheaper products. The brands all look high end.

Carolann

Ooh, great deal! I’ve skipped my last two months and may cancel and resubscribe w/one of these deals. Their customer service is great however I wish their site had more functionality (i.e. you have to email to skip and can’t automate this on the website).

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

You don’t need to cancel; just add the code to your existing account.

Reply ButtonReply

jeein

On the fence… 1 product / month sounds scary (hit or miss, right?) and reading the previous reviews, the values seem to jump up and down from $20 to $100. But there is a chance that I could get an expensive skincare…. AHHh so hard

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

You can manipulate your questionnaire so that you only get skincare products. I did this to get the most bang for my buck, and it’s worked, and the cheapest product I’ve received so far has been in the $50 range, however the average has been much higher.

Also, there’s an area where you can put your top 5 concerns, and if you make them all skincare related, then it seems like regardless of how you change your profile, you’ll still only get skincare products. While the products have been amazing (I actually let out a squeal one time when I opened my box 🙂 ), I was getting a little bored receiving only skincare products, so I changed my profile to get body & haircare products, but never changed my top 5 concerns, and I still continue to receive only skincare products. I guess it’s time to change up my top 5 concerns!

Reply ButtonReply

Cassandra

You are very lucky. I did the same thing only put down skincare products and most months I got items around $30. I did get some amazing products other other months but also not high value. I got a 3lab face wash I loved so over all it was good!

Ragan

I had just been thinking about resubscribing to this the other day. But, I still have a couple of products from my last subscription that I haven’t finished yet. It is so hard to use up full size items.

Liz do these automatically renew or is a one time purchase?

Reply ButtonReply

Jamie M

I did one of these over the winter, it was a 4 month sub. It did not auto renew.

Traci Rhein

Thanks 🙂

Steph R

I really, really don’t need this – I don’t think. But will end up getting it anyway…. Off to sign up for a another Gilt account under a different email address…..

I need an intervention.

Courtney

Liz do you know if this is only for new customers or can we apply it to a previous account?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

You should be able to apply it to an existing account. A few months ago they had an annual subscription deal I took advantage of while already being a monthly subscriber. If you log into your account, then go to Account Profile, you’ll see a box toward the bottom to enter a promotional code. That’s where you’ll enter the code that Gilt City provides to you. This is how I changed my account status from monthly to annual, and the change was instant.
