Candy Club now offers subscribers the ability to customize their boxes! I think this is a fantastic new option, and I jumped at the chance to pick my candies this month!
I signed up for the “Custom Box” on the Candy Club website, which allowed me to select my three main candies for the month. (FYI- I was able to choose three out of the four candies I received in my box. The three candies I selected were sent in Candy Club’s signature plastic and tin containers. The loose, individually-wrapped candies were still a surprise.)
I was able to choose from 33 different kinds of candy.
For subscribers who prefer a surprise every month, Candy Club also offers a “Curated Box.” The “Curated Box” contains candies that are selected for you based on your personal taste. You can choose whether to receive sweet candy, sour candy, or a mix of both.
I received an envelope that contained an info card for each of the candies in my shipment.
The cards provide information about the month’s candies.
They also provide nutritional details.
Haribo Sour Gummy Grapefruit Slices
I’m a big fan of Haribo sweets, so I couldn’t resist selecting these Haribo Grapefruit Slices for my box this month. They’re juicy, tart, and a little sour. Best of all? They actually taste like grapefruit!
Dorval Strawberry Green Apple Sour Power Belts
Sour belts are my husband’s all-time favorite candy, and now that I’m able to customize our boxes I think we’re going to be ordering them pretty regularly! Candy Club offers a selection of different flavors (green apple, rainbow, sour cherry…), and I think these green apple & strawberry belts are one of our favorites so far.
I really like sour gummy worms, so I couldn’t resist trying these sour octopuses! They’re fairly chewy and delightfully sour.
Primrose Double Honey Hard Candies
This is the second time I’ve received these honey flavored candies in one of my Candy Club boxes, and I like them. I typically prefer gummy candy over hard candy, but I like the honey flavor of these. My only complaint about them is that they’re described as having a liquid honey center, and mine are solid all the way through! (I noticed the same discrepancy the last time I received them, which is really weird.)
Verdict: I really enjoy my monthly shipment of candy from Candy Club, and I’m so excited that they now offer customization! I had a lot of fun picking out my candy this month! In terms of value, Candy Club says that each box will have a retail value of $60. You can certainly pay that much for candy at high-end candy stores (like Sugarfina and Dylan's Candy Bar), but I think it’s important to point out that nearly all of the candy in this month’s box is available for much less if you buy it in bulk online. Still, even though this subscription doesn’t offer superb value for money, I think it’s a lot of fun.
