Each box comes with an information sheet, which offers tasting notes for each wine as well as some information on the winery and recipe pairing ideas. I really like the inclusion of the recipe pairings.
Diwald Zweigelt Rosė 2015 - $16.99
I enjoyed this organically grown fruity and dry rosė. It’s the perfect wine for a hot summer’s day. I had it chilled with watermelon feta salad and thought it was so refreshing. You can taste the peach and berry flavors, but it wasn’t too sweet.
Laderas de Montejurra Emilio Valerio 2013 - $14.99
My husband and I loved this wine. It tasted like it easily could have cost much more money. It was earthy and had a smooth finish and I like that it’s grown using organic and biodynamic methods in Spain.
Verdict: I’m thoroughly enjoying my Plonk Wine Club boxes! I love trying new wines, especially from smaller boutique wineries. The recipe pairings are a nice touch too. I also want to note that if you fall in love with one of the wines they send you can order an entire case at a 16% discount with free shipping. This box isn’t going to wow you with value, but if you appreciate being introduced to new wines with organic growing practices this might be a nice subscription to try out.
