This was my second box (out of 3) of the BRIKA gift subscription, check out my first month's review.
Small Origami Vase in White - Value $32 USD ($41 CAD)
I love ceramics so I was very pleased to open the box and find this origami vase. It is made from porcelain with a glazed and matte finish. The inside and top half of the outside are shiny while the bottom half is matte. The design is faceted like a folded piece of paper with no side exactly like another. This is such a great creation by ceramicist Andrew Molleur of Kingston, NY. It's so special to receive something BRIKA picked for me from an artist.
The vase is about 3.5 inches high with a diameter of 4 inches and perfect for showing off a few blooms.
Mai Lin Reminder Bracelet - Value $20
In addition to the vase, my gift box included a delicate silk bracelet with sterling silver beads made by Canadian artist Mai Lin. It looks nice and understated on its own but would look great stacked with other bracelets. The confetti packed with the bracelet is such a nice touch from the maker, I love it! The only thing I'd change about this bracelet would be to have gold beads (available in the maker's Etsy shop), but I'm pretty pleased with it as is.
Verdict: This month's box was a higher value than last months with a value just over $50! It felt very special like a gift from a friend. I love that BRIKA sent me items made by artists and not larger companies. These are both items that I will keep and use/wear and will make life a little cheerier, and that's the best kind of gift, isn't it?
