Cat Claws Club is a bi-monthly subscription box for cats filled with lots of toys, treats, and other surprises. (They just use whatever box will fit the items, so it varies from month to month, but it allows for some unusual item shapes, which can be fun!)
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Subscription Box: Cat Claws Club
The Cost: $33.90 a box ($24.95 subscription price + $8.95 shipping)
The Products: Lots of cat items, mostly toys, including some exclusive and/or new items.
Good to know: Although PayPal checkout shows as an option for this subscription, you can’t actually pay for the subscription with PayPal. I checked out that way the first time and they contacted me, processed a PayPal refund, and I had to resubscribe with a credit card number.

Included was a brochure with more information about the products.
Ciao Churu Purees from Inaba (tuna sample) – Value $0.75
Best cat treat ever. The pictures below are wonderful. I am going to buy so much more of this stuff. Poor Mr. Kitty, he wanted some but he can’t have it due to his IBD. I felt very mean keeping him away while the rest of them enjoyed it.
Catnip Fish Toy – Value $1.88
This was supposedly exclusive but I got the same exact thing in The Cat Kit this month. At any rate, Monkey liked the canvas texture so this was a win.
Ice Cream Cone Refillable Catnip Toy – Value $5.95
We’ve received this before from somewhere. I get too many cat boxes to be sure. My cats are not so interested in the refillable toys, to be honest. But, a good inclusion in a summer box.
Temptations Sample (0.42 oz) – Value $0.33
These seem to come in every Cat Claws Club shipment, but my kitties like them so that is OK.
Fishin’ Kitties Placemat – Value $4.95
Sneaky has to eat in the bathroom right now so she can have a tile surface since she is a messy eater. I am going to see how this works for her. It seems like it will be easy to clean.
Kitty Canoe Scratcher – Value $19.95
This is an exclusive shape for this box. The cats love it. I do wish there was some kind of bottom on it, though – if you put catnip over the top, some of it falls right through. (This exact item isn’t for sale on the Cat Claws site so I have taken the value from similar ones.)
Gratuitous kitty photos!
Investigating the scratcher.
His tongue is blurry here but I find this picture so funny I had to include it anyway.
I took SO MANY pictures like this. But these were the two best ones.
This has to be the best treat from a cat subscription box ever. I am not sure why Madison’s head looks so big in the first picture, though. He’s big but not that much bigger than Sneaky! Weird camera tricks, I guess.
Yay! Mr. Kitty came out to investigate. His eyes look a little weird but trust me, they are better now that he is under the care of an ophthalmologist and improving every day.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $33.81 for the August Cat Claws Club. That is within a few cents of the cost of the box and is not a bad value for a cat subscription box considering some of what I’ve seen this year. My cats liked the high-value item a lot and the tuna puree was a HUGE hit – I will definitely be buying more. The placemat was practical (there is usually at least one practical item in the box), as well.
What did you think of the August 2016 Cat Claws Club? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
