Horror Block never has a monthly theme - but they will spoil 3+ franchises included in the box before your deadline to sign up.
Each month includes an information card with details about each item included.
Pyscho House Shirt - Value $15?
This month's shirt features the iconic Bates Motel. It glows in the dark as well. While I've seen the original movie, I've steered cleared of the remake in 1998 and the Bates Motel TV series. This is one of those films that they can just stop trying to remake, in my opinion.
Friday The 13th Baseball Hat - Value $15-20?
On first glance, I wasn't too excited for a hat - but on further inspection, and with some wear, this hat is awesome!
It's got some fun details. The underside of the brim has some blood splatter and 'Jason Lives' typed out.
On the side, you'll find a Jason Voorhees mask. It looks like a pin, but it does not detach.
It's a snap back, of course, you should expect to receive snap back hats in subscription boxes since they are 'one size fits most'. This hat has a 'worn-in' feel to it as well, which I appreciated!
This, surprisingly, turned out to be one of my favorites of the month!
Alright, to get in the mood for the next item - play the theme song while reading!
McFarlane Walking Dead Hospital Doors Set - Value $10-15 on Amazon
This month, they included a buildable Walking Dead scene! I think that you could have received different scenes (the card shows a prison cell) - I received the hospital scene from the first episode/issue of The Walking Dead!
It's a McFarlane toy, so it's really detailed. It took about 30-40 minutes to piece together this 112 piece set.
I was a little surprised my the lack of detail in Rick's face, yet you can still tell that it's totally Rick - but overall, it's a greatly detailed set.
Look familiar?
It's a great throwback to the beginning of it all.
The doors even swing open! Very cool, very detailed, and one the best items ever sent in any Nerd Block block.
Assorted Blu-Ray - value $10-15?
This month, you could have received one of a number of Blu-Rays. I got a triple feature pack.
It's one disc but contains 3 movies. Forget Me Not, House of Fallen, and Red Hook. All new to me - is there any of these 3 I should be watching right away?
The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror Print - Value $10?
One of the franchises mentioned in the monthly spoilers was The Simpsons. I was a bit sad to see that it was a print - I was really pulling for a Treehouse of Horror specific vinyl figure!
August Rue Morgue - Value $9.95
As always - the monthly Rue Morgue issue is included!
ShirtPunch Credit - Value $10
This is a newer perk to all Nerd Block blocks. You'll receive $10 to spend at ShirtPunch, where you can buy geeky shirts and toys (yes, including Funko POPs)!
Verdict: This is one of my favorite month's of Horror Block, ever. I especially love the hat and The Walking Dead build set - it was a ton of fun to build and photograph. I also love the ShirtPunch perk they've added across the board! More McFarlane buildable sets, please!
