This was THE beauty sub box for me and now I regret buying a 12 month prepay. Seems like excuse after excuse. I respect them trying to break into the makeup industry with their own brand, but i do not respect how they have handled this transition at all. If they decide to send me something worth it every month the pro-rated amount of 6.99 that was just announced will be just fine…as long as I can find something else in the line that attracts me. Eyeshadow dont let me down!

Totally agree…I am SO ticked right now…what they have done is unethical, if not fraudulent! I purchased the 12 month deal as well, based on it being a box of 4 multi-branded cosmetic items. Right after they collected everyone’s year-long-subscription money, they announced that it is now going to be 3 products a month, make-up only, ad oh by the way, ALL items will be coming from their brand new, LaRitzy brand makeup. Umm ok, that’s not what I signed up for…and clearly they knew darn well that they were forging in to their own make-up only box before they did this…I guess they wanted our $$ to put towards their new efforts. I wasn’t psyched about this, (and annoyed at the sneaky way they’d carried it out) but 3 items per month for what I’d paid, didn’t seem bad so I figured I’d give it a try. I wasn’t thrilled with any of their line of makeup items I’d received in the past few boxes, but thought I’d see if it’d get better. So then today they announce another change…transitioning to the 1 item per month box, for $10.98 (box plus shipping.) That in and of itself isn’t a horrible price for new customers who know what they are getting…but for those of us who purchased the 1 year deal based on a box of multi-branded items, it is the pits! It’s my understanding that the money that we’ve paid won’t be going towards the new subscription.. (if we want that we will still have to pay the $10.98 per month) but instead, they will be “refunding” us the remainder of the $$ value of our subscription…but the clincher here is that IT IS NOT A REFUND, BUT RATHER A GIFT CARD TO onlynPURCHASE LARITZY ITEMS FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE!! I have major problems with this!! First off…after they made the first change, at least I was receiving 3 items a month in my subcription, for the discounted price I paid. Now via their “gift card”, I’ll now have to pay much higher prices…ie $24 for a single liquid lipstick…where before I would have received this plus two other items, all for less than the price of the one item! Second…I don’t particularly want any more of their items, as I haven’t enjoyed those I have received, and their selection of both products and colors is extremely limited (LOL about the bright orange concealer cream…what a joke. I have light/medium tone skin, and do use peach-toned or even light orange color corrector under my under-eye concealer…but their pumpkin orange one is ridiculous.) So….I don’t want my “refund” in the form of a gift card…I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I sent them an email letting them know my thoughts, and how disappointed and unethical I find this to be, and asking them to refund my credit card for the unused months of my subscription. Not sure what their response will be, but if they say “no”, I will dispute it with my credit card, as they are unwilling to fulfill what was purchased. I have never in my life had to dispute anything like this…I subscribe to over 20 subscriptions and have never had something as unethical as this take place. It’s really frustrating… oh and by the way, despite reading their FAQs on how to cancel my subscription, I can’t get it to cancel…the link that they say to use doesn’t exist on my screen. Icing on the cake, right??? Ok, getting off my soapbox now!! 😉

I think it’s good that you are warning people. What they are doing isn’t right. I expected a lot more from a vegan company. 🙁

I was excited to receive this box based on past MSA reviews which included 4 full size samples from multiple brands. Just received the Sep box from LaRitzy, based on this posted sale at Gilt City and it is 3 full size LaRitzy products. Does anybody know if all remaining LaRitzy boxes will be exclusively LaRitzy? And if so, why the change?

As far as I know, they are now offering exclusively LaRitzy products. Honestly, I suspect that they figured out that they could make more money by cutting out the middle man and by offering their own products for sale (which they can obtain at cost). It all seems pretty scammy to me.

I would discourage anyone from signing up right now. The product range is just so limited and the quality isn’t that great. But more than that, they’ve been engaging in some seriously unethical practices. They bated and switched a bunch of new subscribers and then refused to offer them refunds. You might sign up at one price today, and expect to receive certain products, and then find that they have switched their business model/pricing or gone out of business entirely tomorrow (as they have done more than once already). They have it written into their policy page that they are not responsible for offering you a refund under any circumstance, and they have a history of sticking to this policy even when they are in the wrong.

DOGDAYS15 should give 15% off on August 19th. Thinking about this. I got Beauty DNA from Giltcity last month and was happy with the product I got.

Cancelled my subscription with them. An item leaked all over last months box, they promptly replied but only offered a $10 credit towards their new shop. Of course, I would have to spend more to get that credit. So if anyone wants my code they can have it. Be sure to set up new account first before going into their shop. Read the following:

“If you’ve already made your new account with the link we sent you in our previous email, you will receive a 15% discount that will already be applied to the list price (on top of the $10 credit). If you haven’t, we encourage you to create an account before using your credit! No refunds or adjustments will be made. ”

Here’s the code: 48K4BZVQ

Hope it all works.

Right before they switched to offering their own products they offered a special promo deal if you bought a year’s subscription. Then they lowered the monthly fee, only offered their own products, and reduced the number of products you would receive. However, they refused to grant refunds to people who bought the year long subscriptions. That’s nothing short of fraud for goodness sakes. They must have known they were going to switch ahead of time but they neglected to tell people. I feel like they encouraged customers to sign up by using false advertisements to entice them. So not cool. I’m totally over LaRitzy.

Debbie

I had me a issue selecting my skin tone on their website and the cofounder of the company contacted me. I am looking forward to trying this subscription, the customer care alone was enough to sell me. I hope the products are amazing!

Blondie

I had the same issue. I was contacted promptly and was told the skin shade was fixed. Great customer service! Today I got my shipping email and noticed that the skin shade was still incorrect. Might be smart to check yours again.

Debbie

I did and she said it was a glitch,, all the bags are neutral this month. I’m excited to see!!

Luna

I had the same issue, emailed them, then figured out the issue on my own right after sending the email, emailed them back right away to disregard, but the co-founder still got back to me with a kind message, and re-confirmed my skin stone was reflecting correctly. I really appreciated that.

Discount Code that works?

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

For people using the GETCITY30 code: I just asked one of their customer service reps and she told me that I can’t use this code because “These promotions are specifically created for individual members and at this time, your account is not eligible.” –Whatever that means. Maybe because I just started the account today to do this?

Kimberly

I emailed them and got pretty much the same response. However, at the end of the email I got back, this is what it said:

Receive 30% off your next purchase at GiltCity.com (the “Discount”) (Maximum Discount of US$25), when you use Promo Code CITYRUSH30 at checkout. Valid only on GiltCity.com, excluding taxes. Discount not valid on Gilt.com (Women’s, Men’s, Home or Kids), on Gilt Travel or in the Gilt Store within Saks Off 5th. Discount will be valid from August 9, 2016 from 1:00pm EDT through 4:00pm EDT. Discount not valid on third-party sites or Ticketmaster offers. Discount must be used in a single transaction and may be subject to product restrictions or exclusions. Discount cannot be combined with other offers. Non-transferable, limit one (1) Discount per customer. Discount will not be granted, may be revoked, and may not be redeemed for a future purchase if the initial transaction is cancelled or a refund is issued.
