Good To Know: These are all exclusive items!

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 11

Collector Corps is a bi-monthly subscription for Funko fanatics. Every delivery is themed in some way - some are themed after comic events/movies, like 'Civil War', or a category of characters, like 'Women of Power', as well as specific characters like 'Ant-Man' and 'Deadpool'.

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 13

Each month now comes with a large information sheet. With this, you can find our additional details about each item in the box - including concept art - I'm loving this new addition!

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 14

The first items you'll find in your box are your themed collector patch and pin. This month, both are themed around the classic Spider-Man.

Spider-Man POP - Value $25 on POP Price Guide

This month contains an exclusive POP (YAY!). In my opinion, I think it's essential for them to include a POP in every box - no POP, no party!

This month's character? It's our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, of course!

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 6

Here he is, mid-jump, ready to web sling!

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 7

I also wanted to give a closer look - I think the paint jobs have been getting better for Funko over the past few months - Spider-Man looks near perfect.

Spider-Man Fabrikation - Value $11 on POP Price Guide

I'm not sure if I'm in the minority, but I really like Fabrikations. While I'm not a fan of their other plush lines - I like how this is essentially an oversized POP.

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 4

The legs/feet are also filled with heavier beads, making it easier to stand them up for display. This is also the first exclusive Fabrikation from Collector Corps - more, please!

Spider-Man POP Top

The typically include one wearable each month, too. Sometimes it has POP'd characters on the graphic, and others have just been exclusive graphics of the actual comic character. Lately, they've been pushing their new POP Top hat line pretty hard.

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 9

Nothing too special for the underside of the brim this time - just POP and Marvel logos.

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 10

You'll find the Spider-Man logo on the back as well. Expect to always receive a snapback hat in these boxes, they are one-size-fits-all, after all.

Marvel Collector Corps August 2016 - 12

The Amazing Spider-Man #16 - Value $3.99 + Exclusive Variant Cover

The final item is the latest issues from the on-going Amazing Spider-Man run. This is a great run, I definitely recommend it to any Spidey fans looking to break into comics. I also highly recommend The Superior Spider-Man run - I won't spoil anything, but it's a great concept and a fun series! I wish it was still going!

Verdict: I love these boxes for the POPs, and this month delivered a great POP and Fabrikation! Those two items alone make this box a win for me. I'm still not sure about POP Tops, though. I'm a hat person myself, but I'm willing to bet that more people don't wear hats - making the inclusion of a shirt much more valuable to more people - so I'm curious to see where that goes. I had a feeling I'd enjoy this month, because Spider-Man, and I was happy to be correct.

Not a fan of this one. The hat really threw me, and it feels like we received so much less in this box. I really do enjoy the blind boxes that we get, or even the double pops. I feel they missed an opportunity to have spider gwen/ spiderman in this one.

That hat was a HUGE mistake. I can’t even give it away…

I’m planning to cancel my subscription after the Dr. Strange box, as I’m not impressed anymore. I collect in-box pops, and the spider-man box I received had a damaged pop box. Not really worth getting it if I don’t know whether or not it will be damaged.

It’s a great pop this month, and I really like the Fabrikation, but the hat was SUCH A HUGE LETDOWN. I tried to pawn it off on my boyfriend and he didn’t want it either. He remarked that it was bad enough when they changed from the awesome marvel shirts to pop-themed marvel shirts, that now they’re scraping the barrel with pop hats -I have to agree with him. I do have a baseball hat I wear on occasion, but I would not wear this and none of my friends would either. It looks styled pretty much for a tween/skater kid.

You know I have to admit, I was feeling nervous with all the people upset over this box but I felt pretty satisfied with it myself when I got it in the mail. I was really happy with the plush and Pop. I love the Fabrikations, too, so it was pretty exciting to get Spidey. And I love the pose of the Pop. I might be wrong but I feel like it’s intentional that the pose is similar to Deadpool’s from his box? The comic cover is super cute and the patch/pin are pretty cool. So overall.. yay!

Granted I won’t wear the hat but I know a little boy who’s birthday is coming up I can gift it to. 🙂 While it IS nice to get the shirts (and a Spidey one would have been awesome) I am drowning in them at this point.

Thanks for the review, Eric!
