My Purrfect Gift Box is a UK-based box of cat-themed gifts. Choose from LITE (2-3 gifts), STANDARD (3-5 gifts), and STANDARD + Gifts for Kitty. You can also purchase one-time boxes in their shop. This is a review of the STANDARD + Gifts for Kitty box.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Included was an information card with a list of the items for the month. This month’s theme was “Celebrating Summer.” (Note: This is the July box. This subscriptions ships from the UK so it took a little longer to get to me.)
Although a lot of the items are custom-made for the box, the makers are selling similar items on Etsy. So I have usually linked to their Etsy shops and taken the values from similar items.
Dalewood Craft Designs Cheese Board with Butter Spreader – Value $24.77
This is exclusive to the box and was designed in the Isle of Man (home to My Purrfect Gift Box). This is the sort of cutting board/cheese board that will need treatment with oil, but luckily we already have some. This is not available online so I am using the price from the information card.
The Fruity Kitchen Apple Chutney and Strawberry Jam – Value $6.54
These are made in Yorkshire. I like the small size. Too often, jams and jellies get moldy because we just don’t eat them that often (since I am counting calories this year). But these jars are just the right size to try a little without any going to waste. These are also not available online.
Lily’s Kitchen Cat Food – Value $1.16
This is mostly chicken and it is organic and grain free. The tin got a little beat up during shipping but stayed perfectly sealed. My cats thought this was pretty awesome.
Cat Napkins – Value $3.91
These are super cute. I will have to bring them out next time we have guests! There was no brand name listed here so once again, the value is from the information card.
Govino Shatterproof Stemless Champagne Flutes – Value $7.19
Everything in this box is just perfect for a picnic. We don’t have any champagne flutes, either. We might drink orange juice out of them instead of alcohol, though, as my husband and I are not really drinkers.
Cleo and Milo Mini Catnip Pillows – Value $1.96
You will receive this if you have the “gifts for kitty” option. Monkey wanted to rub his chin all over this, so I guess the catnip was good, it just didn’t make for good photos. They sell these on eBay in the UK so if you click the link, that listing is ended but you’ll see a lot of similar items below.
Catnip Flower from 4Cats – Value $4.51
Whew, this has valerian in it and it is stinky. So of course the cats think it is great. Thankfully the smell mellowed down a bit after a few days out of the package. You can only see the price of this if you log in, so I found other valerian toys from 4Cats at a UK-based merchant and converted the price of those from pounds to dollars to get the estimate here.
I had some help with the unboxing, so I thought I would show that:
Monkey wouldn’t let me get the items out of the box.
This food was pretty popular. Sneaky ate about 2/3 of it herself.
I like how his tongue is out here.
Even Madison helped me with the unboxing.
You may have noticed that Mr. Kitty does not appear in this review. Around the time I received this box, Mr. Kitty had to spend a day at the emergency vet clinic and then he got transferred to the ophthalmologist. I am happy to report that he is feeling much better at the moment (and hey, it has only cost us $1250 so far…). We are waiting on the results of some blood work and he has a follow-up visit with the ophthalmologist on August 10 but it seems he has glaucoma in one eye and high blood pressure that led to bleeding in the other eye, plus a bunch of ulcers in both eyes. Anyway, he can definitely still see and he was feeling better later in the week so you will see him in some upcoming reviews, but he will not be in the first few cat box reviews this month – I didn’t want to bother him.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $50 for the July 2016 My Purrfect Gift Box. That is definitely below the month-to-month cost of the box + shipping to the US, but is quite a bit above what you would pay in the UK, so this box is probably a better deal for UK-based customers, or else for people who are looking for items that you can’t typically find in the US. I do think the box was very well-curated according to the summer/picnic theme and the items were a lot of fun.
