First of all, My Best Box has one of the nicest boxes I've ever received. It's really sturdy! This box will definitely be repurposed. This month's box is all about getting My Best Sleep. These info cards were included in my package. The one on the left gives the details of what's included in my box. On the right, there's a $5 gift card to spend in their shop at the top. Below that is a card with tips and facts about sleep. It's very informative!

mybestbox-aug-book

The Sleep Revolution by Arianna Huffington - Value $15.85

Sleep is one of those things that should come naturally, but for myself and many others, it does not always work out that way. It might seem weird to read a book about sleep, but I'm a few pages in and so far I'm finding it pretty engaging. It's basically a call to re-prioritize your life and put sleep back near the top of your to-do list! I'm kind of sad that it only merits 3.5 stars on Amazon - I hope it will be very helpful. From Amazon:

We are in the midst of a sleep deprivation crisis, writes Arianna Huffington, the co-founder and editor in chief of The Huffington Post. And this has profound consequences - on our health, our job performance, our relationships and our happiness. What is needed, she boldly asserts, is nothing short of a sleep revolution. Only by renewing our relationship with sleep can we take back control of our lives.

In her bestseller Thrive, Arianna wrote about our need to redefine success through well-being, wisdom, wonder, and giving. Her discussion of the importance of sleep as a gateway to this more fulfilling way of living struck such a powerful chord that she realized the mystery and transformative power of sleep called for a fuller investigation.

The result is a sweeping, scientifically rigorous, and deeply personal exploration of sleep from all angles, from the history of sleep, to the role of dreams in our lives, to the consequences of sleep deprivation, and the new golden age of sleep science that is revealing the vital role sleep plays in our every waking moment and every aspect of our health - from weight gain, diabetes, and heart disease to cancer and Alzheimer's.

In The Sleep Revolution, Arianna shows how our cultural dismissal of sleep as time wasted compromises our health and our decision-making and undermines our work lives, our personal lives -- and even our sex lives. She explores all the latest science on what exactly is going on while we sleep and dream. She takes on the dangerous sleeping pill industry, and all the ways our addiction to technology disrupts our sleep. She also offers a range of recommendations and tips from leading scientists on how we can get better and more restorative sleep, and harness its incredible power.

In today's fast-paced, always-connected, perpetually-harried and sleep-deprived world, our need for a good night's sleep is more important ñ and elusive -- than ever. The Sleep Revolution both sounds the alarm on our worldwide sleep crisis and provides a detailed road map to the great sleep awakening that can help transform our lives, our communities, and our world.

mybestbox-aug-cherries

Woodstock Sweetened Cherries - Value $8.57

Did you know that tart cherries are a natural source of melatonin? I did not know that until I read the info card. That's fascinating! I can see how that would be really good for inducing sleep! On the other hand, it has added sugar, which is terrible for sleep. I don't understand why you would add sugar to one of nature's sweetest fruits, so I passed these along to a friend. She said they were tasty. I'm sure they were!

mybestbox-aug-mask

Hypo-Allergenic Eye Mask - Value $9.99

This is a really nice sleep mask! It's a solid opaque black and it is made from 100% silk. Unfortunately, I can't sleep with eye masks on, they make me feel like I'm suffocating for some reason. I gave this to my husband and he immediately passed out with it on. I guess it works!

mybestbox-aug-salt

Little Flower Lavender Bath Salt - Value $7.50

This is a different bath salt than what they have listed on the information card. The info card cites a Himalayan Pink Grapefruit Detox Bath Salt. I actually think I would prefer this one for sleep, as citrus tends to energize me, and of course lavender is soothing. In any case, I am happy to see this salt has both Epson and Dead Sea Salts for a good mineral balance, and it smells great! I put a little in my son's bath last night, and he fell right to sleep with no problems.

mybestbox-aug-sheets

Mrs. Meyer's Lavender Dryer Sheets - Value $7.99

I absolutely LOVE Mrs. Meyers and everything they make! I was thrilled to see their lavender dryer sheets in this box. I have used them off and on for years, and they smell fantastic. They also do a great job softening fabrics and helping with static electricity in the cooler months.

mybestbox-aug-case

mybestbox-aug-case-2

Healthy Nights Satin with Aloe Pillow Protector - Value $7.99

I have tried this pillow case for the past two nights, and I have to say, I think I prefer natural fibers. This is strictly a personal preference. I know some people love satin sheets, and it's supposedly good for your skin and hair also.

mybestbox-aug-tea

Tazo Calm Chamomile Tea - Value $3.45

Tazo teas are some of my favorites, and this one is a great chamomile. It's very calming and soothes digestion.

mybestbox-aug-aromafier

mybestbox-aug-aromafier-2

SpaRoom Aromafier - Value $12.22

This is awesome, and I am so happy to have it! It's basically a little fan with felt pads. You put some essential oil on the felt pads, and the fan circulates the scented air through the room. It works great and it runs really quietly! Oddly, the info card lists a different product here, too. The product they list looks pretty much identical and is about the same price point, so it doesn't really matter to me.

mybestbox-aug-spray

Truce Lavender & Citrus Room & Pillow Spray - Value $7.99

This stuff smells amazing! I was worried that the citrus would be too energizing, but of course the lavender won out. It may have been a combination of things, but I truly slept like a baby last night!

Verdict: I think MyBestBox is great! It's a great concept that's fairly unique in execution. The products we received are all natural, mostly new to us, and health promoting (except maybe the cherries). The value is about $80, which is fantastic for a $30 box! However, their site claims the value is over $100, so if I had been expecting that value I might have been disappointed. I'm not sure why they would over-promise on a box that actually already delivers an awesome value. If you are looking to improve your health and explore new products that might help you, I think MyBestBox is a fun way to do it.

Yes to all the errors!!! I figure if they can’t even be bothered to correct errors on their info card, how professional can they be?? It’s kind of important to proof something going out to hundreds of people…

This looks interesting, but the info card errors really bug me. That’s the kind of stuff that keeps me from subbing!

I can’t use sleep masks either, but for a different reason. I take them off during the night and fling them all over the room. Have found them in the sheets, under my desk, and once in the litterbox (it was next to the bed).
