Has anyone received the September box yet? I subscribed in August but haven’t received anything this month.

I got mine today but I can’t open it. I cancelled last month but it went through again on my paypal credit account. After emailing again yesterday, they tell me they cancelled it again so I need to send it back.

I was charged for my box yesterday and it shipped today. I live in Chicagoland, so I will probably get it tomorrow. I’ll report back then!

Was it decided that MSA would review these? Wasn’t sure if I missed anything, and wanted to see how this sub was!

Yes! We should have the first review up soon! 🙂

I got 4 products in last months but this makeup is very glitzy. Sparkles galore. Not for a woman my age. I cancelled right away but got another package today and had to email them again. It could be more difficult to cancel if you pay via PayPal credit as I do. Def for younger women, even somewhat theatrical type make up. My opinion.

Alex

Does anyone know if their products are made in China? I’ve been searching all over the site

Hi Alex,

The ANSWER to your question is “I think so”. It lists under each individual product that it’s “Made In the USA” so I hope that goes for all of their products. it sounds like they have a facility where they make the product here but it doesn’t mention where they get their raw ingredients. They are vegan and cruelty free so hopefully their products are all on the up and up 🙂

Go back and look again, it’s on there Alex-and as always you can email them under their “contact us” tab.

So, I signed up for the no they subscription Thursday, and I received my first package today, only two days later (I live in MD). The packaging was nicely padded and there was a paper print out if the items (same as others have posted) and the 4items packaged into two cellophane envelopes nice and securely. I haven’t used a loose eye powder in forever, but the texture is so silky and the color is so smooth. The lipstick isy favorite item, it looks way way too dark(I’m super pale and freckled), but it goes on sheer and with a nice texture, and is actually now one of my favorites for a noticeable color. I’m really delighted with this box, and I’m going to continue wuth the monthly subscription.

Hi all! I’m a gratefully recovering goth chick, so this box is right up my (dimly lit) alley. I’ve always wanted to try the brand and grabbed this the second I read about it on here. SO GLAD I did! I got the same four products that Trish listed and I’m in love.

To answer some questions:
1) Colors are wearable! The eye powder on my lids is a rosey-goldy-bronze with lots of shimmer. It’s not gaudy at all and I’m wearing it right now with a few colors from the Urban Decay Naked3 kit, if that helps any. The lipstick goes on sheer, only looking super bright in the tube. The lipgloss is not at all sticky and while the cotton-candy pink color goes on very sheer, it’s still not right for me. I layered it over a lipstick that is too brown for me and voila! Perfect!) I have not yet played with the glitter, which will likely be dappled in my hair at some point.

2) Fast shipping – I live in Chicagoland and Medusa’s is in Chicago, but still – it was quick. Minimal packaging, too, and everything arrived in perfect condition.

3) I recently cancelled Allure, Essence, Glossybox, and Julep. I didn’t have a problem with them, but I was in a rut and not getting enough make-up beyond black eyeliner and black mascara. This box is going to solve that rut for me very nicely. I can’t wait for fall. I’m hoping for a lot of dark, moody colors.

HUGE thanks to MSA for writing-up this box. I never would have known about it if not for you guys!

This looks like a great box at a reasonable price point! I’m definitely gonna try this!

I’ve looked at other reviews as well as their FB page.. honestly their customer service appears questionable based on what i’ve read.. it looks fun but I will definitely wait to see more reviews on their monthly sub.. I

I am excited to see a Medusas Makeup box. I have used their product for quite a few years. I have all 48 of the eye dust, the original 12 colors of their eye shadow, some of their glitters. I do recommended purchasing sifters for their eye dust if they dont come with one as the dust will spill out otherwise. i also recommend purchasing the eye fix which helps to hold the eye dust and shadow on your eye for a long time and it still comes off easily unlike waterproof items. I also recommended their eye liner liquid to convert your shadows and dusts into eyeliner. Their colors of dust are highly pigmented and are similar to MAC pigments which are also a favorite of mine. The shadows are good for a light wash of color or you can build on it. The sizes are smaller than MAC sizes so you can use them up before they go bad or you get tired of them. I have one of their blushes which is a light pink that is very sheer and you need to build on it if you want deeper color. I have used their black eyeliner which was smooth and easy to use. I have found their lip gloss to look deep or bright in color but have found them to be sheer when you put them on. Depending on the color of your eye dust, shadow or glitter, the colors can be quite bright and are definitely sparkly. They have some new products that I have not tried, as like most of you, I am on overload, but I am excited about this subscription and can not wait to end a couple of others so I can subscribe to this. Their customer service has always been excellent. Overall this is an excellent product and I encourage you to try it a least once. Finally, NO I am not an employee of Medusas Makeup, just a happy customer. If you remember the days of Glam Rock this is a product that would have been perfect for that time period. I hope those of you who do subscribe enjoy the items as much as I have.

Trish

Good info Lola- Thanks! You’re correct about the lippies too- I thought the colors would be too intense but they applied sheer and I like ’em both. My eye dust didn’t have a sifter, but that’s no biggie- I’ve got empties I can use. I most definitely want more of the eye dusts- so pretty!

Lola

Also the prices are very reasonable and you get a lot for your money. The eye shadow colors I have are the electo-colors. Check out their website. They now have an eye liner creme rather than a pencil but I am sure the quality remains the same.

WendyM

I’d love to see it reviewed (and swatches or modeled to see the pigments strength!) especially since it’s vegan.

Nyx

Their website states that the pressed eye shadows are not vegan. Sad. I was most interested in the pressed shadows!

Reply ButtonReply

Erica

I’m not for sure what their eye dust looks like. I’m assuming it’s loose powder. I recommend if you want to do pressed, either putting a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol and pressing down with a spoon and waiting for it to dry to become a pressed powder or make up forever sells a vegan liquid drops. I can’t remember the name but I do it does similar thing to pressing powders and so much more.

I’ve heard you can do the same with eye drops but I haven’t tried it out yet

Marion

Oh, no! I want it!!!

Well, I count 15 items in the picture, not 3 or 4. Truth in advertising, anyone?

The logo and handmade lettering make this look like some of the shops here in LA for professional makeup artists. That’s not bad.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

The ad for the box explicitly states that you will only receive 3-5 items, so there *is* truth in advertising. Obviously they were just trying to display a variety of the types of products that they offer. #smh

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

You are correct. I got four items last month. Not my style but a good value for the sizes they send.

monah

I’m going to have to get a box or order something straight from them cuz I love their edgy looking design.

Karen

Are the colors in the box like crazy colors, or colors that are wearable everyday? Looks like a good box.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

Hooray!!! I love Medusa’s makeup. Totally signing up right now 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Karen

Hi Rebecca. Is their makeup good? Is it pigmented?

Reply ButtonReply

Lola

Pigmented and bright, similar to MAC.

Bev

You have to give us an updated when you receive your box. Please!!

Nyx

Their site says that the pressed eye shadows are NOT vegan. Pass. Sadly.

Trish

I signed up the first week of August and I received my package within 5 days. I received the following:
Eye Dust (Brown Sugar)
Lipstick (Baroque)
Glitter (Ozone)
Lip Gloss (Loverboy)

I’m super happy with all four items! The colors are great and as long as I can keep my daughter away from them, I expect to make good use out of all products. Definitely keeping this sub as I like getting makeup and the value is good.

Patti

Were they full size, Trish?

Reply ButtonReply

Trish

Hi Patti ?-yes, they are full sized, and they are also vegan & cruelty free. I thought the lippie colors would be too strong in intensity, but the ones I got were fine for my medium pigmented lips. I actually like the idea of trying colors I wouldn’t normally choose because I’m a chicken!

I mentioned the vegan & cruelty free because I’m ordering another sub for my niece and she’s all about that when it comes to her wearing makeup. She’s 21 & I know she’ll go nuts over this!

Sara

Is it full sizes or sample sizes? I’d love to see a review of it!

Patti

Oooh, this looks like a fun one. If Sephora and Birchbox don’t step it up, I’m getting this instead.

Go ahead, Patti. Birchbox will NOT be stepping up 🙂
