The box included an information card with a list of items and a monthly message.
There is just one item photo this month because there simply wasn’t much in the box. What you see above is all you get. Even though the box was smaller than usual this month, it still seemed empty.
Sweet Pickles Designs Cat Bow Tie – Value $7
So. You put these on your cat’s collar. Only, we have gotten these in at least two other PetPack for Cats boxes this year (February and May). At the rate this is going, I will have one for each cat by the end of the year. Now if my cats would only agree to wear collars. (Seriously, though, they probably need to find some new items to send.)
Polydactyl Cat Toy Tea Bag – Value $5.99 (?)
This was the only toy in the box. My cats do like dangly things on strings, though, and it fit the theme. In general, Polydactyl cat toys are clever and usually well-received. This is not in the PolydactylCats Etsy shop so I’ve priced it like similar toys.
My Little Lion Cat Treats Totally Tuna Recipe (2.65 oz) – Value $2.97
These are grain free, semi-moist treats and they were probably the most popular item in the box for my guys and gal (except Mr. Kitty who can’t have them).
Cosmic Catnip Tuna Flakes (0.5 oz) – Value $7.40
These are pretty similar to the bonito flakes we got in the May PetPack. I have been using them to try to get Madison to eat wet food. I think it is a losing battle, but I do appreciate getting the chance to at least try.
I can’t leave you without a few cat photos!
Madison and Monkey investigate the box.
Sniffing the treat bag.
Cleaning the treats off the floor. Monkey mostly watched while Madison and Sneaky did the work.
Mr. Kitty was not having the best day. But he was up for some chin scratches.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $23.36 for the August 2016 PetPack for cats. This is quite a bit below the price of the subscription plus shipping. Sadly, this has been the case for most of the months I have received this box to review. It really needs a few more items (in my opinion, toys) and not as many repeats (how many cat bow ties does one person need?). As it stands now, I can’t recommend this subscription.
What do you think of the August 2016 PetPack? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?
