Barefoot with a Bodyguard by Roxanne St. Claire- $12.99 on Amazon (retail price $14.99)
This is book 1 in the Barefoot Bay Undercover series and the author included a postcard & a note which is always nice. When I first saw this book title I instantly thought of celebrities or a royal since that’s the majority of people with bodyguards. This book sounds so steamy I can’t wait to dig in and start reading it! It was also nominated for the Romance Writers of America RITA Award for the best romantic suspense novel of 2016 so you know it’s good!
Description from Amazon:
About to take the bar exam after ending a five-year marriage that derailed her career plans and her life, Kate Kingston craves independence and a vacation. Somewhere warm with sea breezes, sunshine, sand...and no scary threats against her that have been showing up in her dad's office. Barefoot Bay is the perfect place for some serenity while she studies and puts her life back together. But when she meets the brooding wall of muscle her father hired to protect her, Kate feels her hard won independence slipping away as fast as her resolve to avoid men who wield power over her.
Mixed martial arts trainer Alec Petrov has been on the run for a long time. Guarding a feisty attorney-to-be while pretending to be her husband is not a bad way to live off the grid, hidden from the Russian mobster who is hunting Alec with deadly intent. But Kate brings out a tender side Alec doesn't understand, or believe he deserves, and he soon realizes that keeping them both safe is only half the challenge. Keeping his hands off her and his attraction under control will be every bit as difficult in the close quarters of an exclusive resort.
When their make-believe honeymoon in paradise turns sensual, complicated, and dangerous, Alec and Kate realize it's not just their lives that are in jeopardy, it's their hearts. And they'll have to fight to the end to save each other...and their love.
On the Way Home by Skye Warren- $9.99 on Amazon
The author of this book, Skye Warren, is a New York Times Bestselling author. She included a note along with a signed bookmark which is pretty cool. Her book is based on a solider and stewardess and it looks like it’s also going to be a page turner! I can’t wait to start reading this one.
Description from Amazon:

For eight months I've been deep under cover as a special operator in the Army. On the plane ride home, all I want is a hot shower and a long sleep. But a Dear John text message leaves me stranded. I need a ride and a place to stay, and the pretty stewardess is more than willing.Della
It's supposed to be a simple trade--the passenger in seat 34B for my sister. But the sexy soldier is more than I can handle in all the best ways. He trusts me, but I can't save him. No one can. Sometimes trouble has a way of following you home.On the Way Home is a full-length new adult romantic suspense novel intended for readers over eighteen. Fair warning: Contains a hot army hero who knows how to follow orders.
Foldable Sunglasses- $7.00?
I love wayfarers so this is totally my style! It’s also a plus that they fold up small enough to fit neatly in your pant pocket or in your purse. They are courtesy of author Jennifer Hart. On the side of the sunglasses it says “Sleuthing for a Living” which is the title of one of Jennifer’s new reads. On a side note, her website is really interactive so it was fun discovering it.
Barefoot Bay Backpack- $12.00?
This is one of the more practical items I’ve received from this sub. The backpack folds up nicely into a little square that you can zip up. It will be perfect for hiking or any outdoor activities. I really like the color too! It’s courtesy of the author Roxanne St. Claire (hence the Barefoot Bay name).
The sunglasses folded completely.
View of the backpack unfolded.
Invisible Ink Pen- $5.99
The invisible ink pen fits the theme perfectly. The card advises you to use it to send and decode secret messages. It also says you might find some secret messages within this month’s box- cool!
Secret Note Capsules-$5.00?
These little capsules with faces are seriously the cutest ever! I really like the concept and they each came with a small note inside of them, with codes to go on a 'secret mission' online. The card refers to them as happy pills and they are perfect for exchanging hidden messages. I also like how they are reusable.
They included a small promo card for an upcoming book in the box: The Gangster’s Woman by Ginger Ring.
There were two ebooks included this month: Stacking the Deck by Anne Marie Becker and I Spy a Duke by Erica Monroe. The ebooks are always a nice extra!
Verdict: I enjoyed this month’s The Ever After Box! I used to love being a “detective” when I was younger so this box is right up my alley. It’s the most practical box I’ve received yet since I will wear the glasses and use the backpack. I estimate the value of this box to be at $52.97 and that's not including the two ebooks. It’s a very rough estimate, but it is one of the higher valued boxes I’ve received. Overall I was very happy with it!
