I was very happy with the spring/Bunny’s box but very disappointed with the summer/Kandee’s box. Also, the cancellation rule is ridiculous but you can get around it by using a visa gift card and only have enough balance for the box or switch the billing to an empty card after. I’ve also read a lot of people complain about being billed twice for regular and yearly subs. Buyer beware!

I didn’t see a contact number for beautycon either but I didn’t have any issues getting hold of someone by email. As someone else said they do have a tricky cancellation policy. I contacted them PRIOR to the last box shipping. I thought I was going to be able to cancel since I hadn’t received the summer box yet. Figured since I’d already been charged for summer I would just get summer’s box and not fall’s. But they told me I had to wait until I received summers box and that once I did received it I had 7 days to cancel. Was/is very strange in my mind. You have EXACTLY a one week window to cancel, 90days or so between boxes and a 7 day cancellation window directly after you receive a box. Besides that the service has been fine. I’ve only gotten two boxes so far, Fall will be my third and then I’ll be waiting for a yearly sub deal to resub later. I wouldn’t recommend glossybox to anyone over boxycharm. Between beautycon and boxycharm, Beautycon seems to have a lot of drugstore/department store brands. You get a lot of items in the box and the range is broad. Hair items, nail, makeup, cleansers, etc. I really enjoy beautycon boxes. With boxycharm you get less items but generally they are a bit higher end then beautycon’s items. Boxycharm also costs less than beautycon. I really don’t like what glossybox has had in their recent boxes and haven’t seen a single box from them that I “just had to have”. Best advice is if you check out the unboxings/review and you like the items in a box then give it a try. With any subscription there’s going to be the possibility of issues and if that happens most times they will try and fix it as best they can. I would say not to let other peoples customer service debacles stand in your way of trying a box. If glossybox consistently had items I liked in their boxes I would just give it a try.

Check about their cancellation policy. When I was subscribed, you could only cancel within a week of receiving your box. If you didn’t, then you had to wait to get your next box, and then cancel within 7 days of getting that. It was ridiculous. They hadn’t advertised their cancellation policy on their checkout page, which violates California law, and it took my pointing that out to them for them to cancel me.

I hope they’ve changed their policy but CHECK before you subscribe.

I got two boxes from them for my young teen, who is a Beautycon fanatic. She wasn’t super impressed. I think for the money, there are better boxes. She’s currently quite happy with Sephora which is just $10.

I’ve subscribed to Beautycon this past year and have not had any issues with the customer service. I had to email to cancel my subscription and they took care of it within 2 or 3 days no problem. I haven’t had to deal with the customer service much except to cancel so that’s been my only experience.
