Each box comes with an illustrated card of the curators, and on the flip side is the item list;
The Brow Gal Brow Dual-Ended Highlighting Pencil in Gold/Nude – Value $20
This pencil is part shiny highlighter and part matte concealer. Both ends go on smoothly and blend well - I'm really impressed with the formulas and the coverage/pigment. (Both swatched in lower photo.)
DUO Eyelash Adhesive - 2.5 g Value $1.60
I'm completely new to false eyelashes and glue, but Emily let me know that this glue is THE glue all youtube makeup artists use! It's also free of Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, GMOs and Triclosan.
And this is a critical item to include since they also included lashes in this box:
Eyelashes by Flutter lashes by MakeupShayla – Value $10
For years now, I've received false lashes in subscription boxes, and kept them saying, "One day I will try these." Well, in an effort to make sure I try every item I review when possible, it was time to actually try false eyelashes!
They were actually pretty easy to apply once I got over my fear of glue on my lashline. If you haven't tried false eyelashes before, first, hold the lashes up to your lashline and see if the lashes are too long. Cut any excess, then apply a thin layer of glue to the lashes and let it set for a few seconds. Then apply to your lash line and move into the correct place.
(You can always use makeup remover to take it off if you make any mistakes.)
Here I am with one side on so you can see the before and after (apologies in advance for the closeup):
And these were pretty easy to remove, too. (I used makeup remover solution on a Q-tip on the lash line for a few seconds, then I was able to remove them without pulling out any of my own lashes.)
Jouer Conditioning Lip Treatment (4.5 ml) Value $8
This lip treatment is paraben-free, and non-sticky! It goes on clear and provides a lot of shine and moisture.
Laser Kitten Sweetheart Lipstick Pin - Value $12
There's usually at least one or two non-beauty items in every BeautyCon box (think accessories like a keychain or necklace). Given how popular enamel pins are right now, I think this is a fun choice. (Though I wonder if this box would it feel like it had a higher value if the accessory item had literally bigger.)
Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow in Bella Taupe – Value $5
I really love how smooth this pressed powder felt while applying it! The pigment is pretty good, too. (Swatched in lower photo.)
Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Mocha - (8 g) FULL SIZE! Value $19.50
This liquid lipstick is heavily pigmented, and it has decent staying power, too. I found this Mocha shade to be flattering on my skintone, and I also like that the formula didn't dry out my lips!
Here it is swatched:
(Lipstick, Eyeshadow, Highlighter, Concealer)
Luxie Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush – Value $16
I've received these Luxie brushes in subscription boxes before, and I'm a fan. The brush is soft, vegan and cruelty-free, and the bristles are coated with an antibacterial solution.
Sugarfina Sugar Lips - (Taster Packet) Value $2.50
These sweet & sour gummy lips are in the flavors of Watermelon, Strawberry, and Bubble Gum. I couldn't eat these because they are made with Red 40 :(, but Emily and Eric both were happy to sample them!
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes – 7 wipes Value $1.25
I’ve sampled these before and I’m happy to have more. The wipes are gentle on my skin and remove makeup well.
Mystic Tan Mocha-Kyssed Bronzer Lotion (1 oz) Value $5.85
I was surprised by the scent of this lotion! Most self-tanners I've sampled range from not-great to tolerable when it comes to scent, but this one smells like a lovely perfume!
This is a 2-in-1 product. It immediately gives you a bronzer, and then the tanner gradually builds over time. So far, I really like it for the bronzing part - the color looks very natural on my skintone.
And this box also came with some stickers!
Verdict: Based on my estimates, this box has a value of about $101. I think that value is great, but it does feel like this box is missing a stand out hero item or two, or more full-size items like the Summer Box included.
That said, I'm still going to be using almost every item in the box, so I feel like I got my money's worth.
