The info card details the basics of a CampusCube subscription.

CampusCube-Women-September-2016-Info3

The outer box can be upcycled into storage space. They're stackable and make for nifty organizational shelves! CampusCube kindly sent me a couple extra outer boxes so you can see what they look like when used together as storage. The binder clip included with the info card is perfect for clipping boxes together.

Aluminum Water Bottle with Carabiner Clip - $7

This is an aluminum water bottle with a twist off cap and "CampusCube" logo. It's a simple necessity for students!

479 Degrees Sea Salt Caramel Popcorn 5oz - Value $3.35

I usually think all kettle corn taste the same but this one is different, maybe even tastier. It reminds me of Kellogg's Corn Pops cereal.

Goodie Girl Quinoa Chocolate Chunk Cookies 4.5oz - Value $5.29

This is another big win. The cookies are so light and crunchy and delicious. They have the perfect amount of chocolate chips. There's a slightly nutty aftertaste that I'm quite fond of too. I'm addicted!

CampusCube-Women-September-2016-3

Andalou Pure Pore Face Mask - $5.99

This sheet mask contains fruit stem cells, willow bark extract, coconut water, jojoba oil, and a host of amazing ingredients. I really wanted to like it but several things didn't work out. The fiber mask was thin and adhered wonderfully to my skin, but the eye and mouth holes were too small. The watery essence felt cooling and moisturizing, but at the three-minute mark my face started to sting from the cooling effects. I had to remove the mask after only five minutes. Finally, the essence felt sticky after use. Overall, great ingredients, not so great execution.

Cyndibands Hair Ties - $4.95

I always like to keep a hair tie on my wrist so this is perfect. Hair ties are super versatile too. If you have short hair, you can always use them as regular rubber bands.

Sinji Pouch Smartphone Wallet x2 - $15.98

This is an adhesive wallet or pouch that you attach to the back of your smartphone. The pocket is made of stretchy fabric so you can store cards and even knickknacks  inside. When I was in college sometimes all I needed was a phone and my college ID to travel between dorms for activities. If I had this I wouldn't have needed to bring a wallet or purse every time.

Exclusive Pillowcase - $10

This is a CampusCube exclusive pillowcase with pink text that reads "I woke up like this." It's 60% cotton, 40% polyester, and made in the USA. I love how comfy it feels. It is pretty large and will fit most pillows.

CampusCube-Women-September-2016-4a

Cute!

Stur Drink Powders in Lemonade - $3

Delicious! This contains a box of 7 packets of lemonade flavored drink mix. I'm happy that the flavor isn't overwhelmingly sweet, plus, it's organic. As someone who doesn't really drink much fluids this will surely motivate me to drink more throughout the day.

I couldn't find the exact packaging so I linked to a larger size.

Harry's Truman Razor - $17

Wow, I love the packaging! This Truman razor has a comfortable, plastic composite handle and a weighted core for better grip and control. The blades have a flex hinge and lubricating strip. The razor retails at $9. You can redeem four extra blades from Harry's website at no extra cost, which adds another $8 to the value.

Verdict: I loved my first box from CampusCube! The whole care package feels thoughtful, well curated, and high quality (especially the pillowcase). I like the mix of snacks, beauty, and gadgets. The face mask didn't work too well but I enjoyed trying it out. I was a college student not so long ago so I know that it's sometimes hard to eat healthy in school. Therefore, I appreciate that they include both healthy and delicious foods. Also, one feature that makes CampusCube unique is the convertible storage boxes. It's a great way to be practical and environmentally friendly. I calculated the total value to be $72.56, which is more than twice the cost of the box! Overall, I'm extremely pleased with September's box and look forward to future months.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with branding the water bottle. When is the cut off to sign up for this and my niece receive Septembers box? Thank you! ???

Kate

Hi Amy. We’ll be taking orders and shipping this box throughout September, so please use the MSA coupon when you order!

As someone who is in college. I would loveee to recieve this!!! I totally sent the link to my parents. I love everything about this box!! Although I’m not a big foodie fan my roommates would love to get their hands on the snacks in here. I love the whole boxes turn into storage because that’s really necessary. everyone’s commenting on the branding of the water bottle. I really don’t mind. I think it’s totally okay. I mean all my other bottles are branded because I go out of my way to get the free stuff on campus and I’m pretty sure any other student would say the same. I really hope my parents get me this box. If not I guess I’ll have to buy it myself.

This would make a great gift to my niece it’s a great box! I think the cubes are what sets it apart not to mention the thoughtful curation. Great job CampusCube ?

Lauren

Thanks so much for your kind words, Angelique!
I forgot to mention earlier that Harry’s replacement blade cartridges are now available at Target, too 🙂

Angelique

I have been looking for something like this for my son. I stocked his shower caddy and was thinking my 18 year old is not going to spend $8 for a razor blade – he will buy a burritto and try to get until Thanksgiving out of the blades he has. I was thinking of making him monthly care packages.

Lauren Irvin

Hi Angelique. I laughed out loud about your comment about choosing the burrito over the blades! (I think my 3 college girls might do the same thing)
But now your son won’t have that problem since the Harry’s razor in our Guys Cube also comes with a certificate for 4 more blades – absolutely free, delivery included 🙂

Check out the Guys CampusCube which MSA also reviewed today on the site and please use the coupon!

I just ordered a year’s subscription for my college freshman. It a great value given the full size products. I like the mix of “stuff”, it’s a little bit of everything my daughter likes and can use with a surprise thrown in as well. And that box with the clip – clever!

This box looks fantastic and looks like a good alternative to Popsugar. Will keep it on my radar!

That pillow case is adorable!

What a nice box! It’s been a long time since I was in college, but I would have LOVED something like this back then. I hope this sub does well and sticks around.

Wow! First of all, thank you everyone for all of the positive feedback and encouragement and for sharing your thoughts on the logo on the water bottle, in particular. We went back and forth on this topic ourselves so it’s really helpful to hear from some of you about whether you like the CampusCube name on the bottle or prefer it blank. Sounds like we should go with blank water bottles for future orders, so we will absolutely make that change! If you have any other thoughts or suggestions, we’d love to hear them and can reach us directly at

I think overall both of the campus cubes seem pretty good! Please do be careful not to make the girls one too “girly”. I’d personally have much rather had the food from the guys version than the mask, if I were getting this box (or the pillowcase, really, though that one less so). I can still definitely see it being fun and good to do the two different crates, just don’t make them *too* different (I don’t think you overdid the differences on this one, I just think you shouldn’t veer to make them more different).
Anyways, I think you did a great job with your first boxes 🙂

Lauren

Thanks for your feedback, Ali, this is really helpful. We agree that small differences between the boxes are good but over-all we will have most of the same food items going forward (girls and guys like the same things as long as they’re delicious, in our experience!). The pink box, for example, will not reappear (even for the girls) until late Spring. Mid-October is orange and December is purple and the contents are Halloween or Finals/Holidays themed which is the same for everyone. We hope you’ll give us a try!

I feel like they touched on something different and unique simply with their idea of reusable upcycling of the boxes. As a college student I would have loved that for the shelf above my desk etc or even in the lower part of my wardrobe or under a lofted bed right near the head of it so I could store snacks and books nearby lol. It’s a nice wide mix of items and it’s all stuff I would have used and an odd item out or two would have been great for a roommate or new friend. Nothing goes over better than a free food as a college kid.

If it were me, I’d just put a fun sticker over the logo. Problem solved 🙂

Elizabeth

Agree about the water bottle branding, BUT- I would have loved this sub as a homesick college freshman!

Gina

I would have been so happy to receive something like this in college!

I don’t really care that they branded the water bottle. Most of college I carried water bottles I got at career fairs that had names of companies I would never work for on them anyway!

Loba

Out of all the campus box reviews I have seen reviewed this one seems to be the best curated box.

However, I agree that the water bottle would be better if it wasn’t stamped with the sub’s name.

I really like that the boxes were designed for repurposing. And outside of the logo on the bottle I think the items were great for a care package box. It was almost like a PopSugar care package.

nana

Thinking back to college, I think this box needs more snacks.

I also don’t really like the water bottle. Who wants to go around advertising “campus cube”?

But, I still have 4 years to go before my oldest one goes to college, so my opinion doesn’t really matter much 🙂

I think its ok with the branding. This is a really nice college care package sub. I agree its one of the nicest, so I am ok with the advertising, if it helps them get business and stay in business. As a student and even today, I have a lot of nice water bottles with corporate branding on them – they were free, so I am ok with it.

The Campus Cube branding was weird to me too, but then again, I used pretty much any free stuff I could get my hands on & don’t think I’d have minded. It’s a clean logo with nothing too cutesy or obnoxious, at least.

bk

Agreed! I don’t mind it either. I like their branding, simple and fun. I think this is probably the best college care package so far. I have a son in college and was looking for one. 🙂
