The info card details the basics of a CampusCube subscription.
The outer box can be upcycled into storage space. They're stackable and make for nifty organizational shelves! CampusCube kindly sent me a couple extra boxes so you can see what they look like when used together as storage solutions. The binder clip included with the info card is perfect for clipping boxes together.
Aluminum Water Bottle with Carabiner Clip - $7
This is an aluminum water bottle with a twist off cap and "CampusCube" logo. It's perfect for any student.
Sinji Pouch Smartphone Wallet x2 - Value $15.98
This is an adhesive wallet or pouch that you attach to the back of your smartphone. The pocket is made of stretchy fabric so you can store multiple cards or bills inside. When I was in college sometimes all I needed was a phone and my college ID to walk around and hang out with friends. This kind of gadget would have been perfect!
Goodwipes for Guys x2 - Value $1.60
Portable deodorizing body wipes are something I wouldn't normally think about getting but would be super useful on hand. Each packet holds one wipe, which contains tea tree oil, peppermint, and ginseng to cool the skin. It's portable enough to stick in backpacks or pockets for any occasion.
Sheila G's Chocolate Chip Brownie Brittle 5oz - $3.99
I've had Sheila G's brownie brittle before and it's heavenly. It has all the deliciousness of a brownie condensed into graham cracker sized cookies. If I could eat this every day with no consequences I would.
Stur Drink Powders in Fruit Punch - Value $3
This contains a box of 7 packets of fruit punch flavored drink mix. The drink mix is organic and it is just the right amount of sweetness for me. As someone who doesn't really drink much fluids this will surely motivate me to drink more throughout the day.
I couldn't find the exact packaging so I linked to a larger size.
Krave Jerky in Sweet Chipotle 1.5oz - Value $3
I love jerky so this got devoured pretty quickly. Even though I'm not usually a fan of spicy things this Sweet Chipotle sure is delicious. It's a little dry but the flavor makes up for it.
Squirrel Brand Hunter's Mix 4oz - $3.50
This is a savory blend of kettle roasted nuts, seeds, and sesame sticks. I like the flavors and will totally eat this as an afternoon pick-me-up snack. It has a resealable top for multiple snackings.
Modern Oats Goji Blueberry Oatmeal - Value $3.50
This is a quick and easy breakfast for when you're in a rush in the morning. I liked the oatmeal but I wish it was just a little sweeter.
Strong & KIND Hickory Smoked Almond Protein Bar - Value $1.25
This is my first encounter with savory protein bars. It contains almonds, pumpkin seeds, honey, and lower down on the ingredient list, onion powder and garlic powder. The KIND Snacks website describes this as "the beard-growing, wood-chopping, pick-up truck driving snack that doesn't need a map when it goes walking in the woods." Honestly it smells like the description-- a bit meaty but not appealing. It tastes like BBQ sauce and nothing like the nuts and seeds that makes up the bar. I heavily dislike it...
Harry's Truman Razor - $17
This is such a fancy razor! The handle has a comfortable, plastic composite grip plus a weighted core for better control. The blades have a flexible hinge and lubricating strip. Overall, it looks and feels like a high quality item. You can redeem four free blades from the Harry's website (with free shipping) too. The razor retails at $9 while the four redeemable blades add another $8 to the value.
Verdict: The first guy's box from CampusCube feels thoughtful and well curated. I like the mix of snacks and care items. I was a college student not so long ago so I know that it's sometimes hard to eat healthy in school. Therefore, I appreciate that they include both healthy and delicious foods. Also, one feature that makes CampusCube unique is the convertible storage boxes. It's a nice way to upcycle packaging and be practical. I calculated the total value to be $59.82, which is around twice the cost of the box. Overall, I'm very pleased with September's CampusCube and look forward to their future curations!
