Scentbird has announced the launch of a new makeup subscription, Deck of Scarlet! (Thanks, Lin, for the head's up!)

(FYI - this box is in pre-launch stage - you should be able to actually subscribe soon.)

Scarlet was born out of our lust for makeup and wanting to re-create the most gorgeous looks seen on Youtube. However, when one video used 32 products (!) to achieve a perfect cat-eye- it was enough. There had to be a solution for the makeup obsessed that doesn’t break the bank. With Deck of Scarlet, you get two complete makeup looks delivered right to your door for just $29.95 every other month.

I will be recieving their first pallet #00, I won it for promoting pre-launch sign-ups. I love the concept, but skeptical of the quality. I am holding out some optimism because they are at least stating the products will be “100% cruelty free, paraben free, and made in the USA”. This at least shows forethought of quality.

I will say that scentbird has amazing customer service, the few times I have dealt with them which already adds brownie points over some of the other makeup sub boxes…..yes glossybox I am looking right at you.

Customer service sucks! I ordered mine the beginning of this month and still have not received it!

Is it a refillable palette & you get different colors every other month? If you get a palette every other month that will give you daytime & nighttime looks. It had their company name on it so I’m thinking it’s just a private label cosmetics company. So subscribers will get 6 palettes a year? Hmmm I think I would get bored of the same company that’s not exciting to me & that’s a key reason I subscribe to so many boxes. I just love trying new brands & different products.

Does anyone know when its coming out?

This sounds like a great subscription for someone like me who is starting from scratch and doesn’t really wear makeup. Receiving an entire look should simplify things, and I love that they include a day time and night time look.

I like this concept as long as the makeup itself is worth the money and the time. I’d love to see reviews of this box. I think this is a great way for newbies to makeup to learn and an easy way for more experienced makeup lovers to get everything in line shot. I think I may actually have to try this as long as I can part with one of my other 5 subs. Orrr I could just try it as a one time thing unless I really love it then I’ll figure out a way to fit it in the budget lol.

I’m so over palettes, but I’d still like a review of the box.

I think that sounds fabulous! Wow! Would definitely love to see it reviewed here!

I must be in the minority, but this doesn’t excite me. A one-brand palette every time would just bore me. I have enough palettes, I’d rather receive individual products.

oh my! I would love to see this reviewed! Or a sweet deal then I think I would have to sign up ASAP. What’s this a new palette? yes please

Swoon!

My only hesitation (and maybe this is just me) is that they are going to give you two blush-type products a month. I am currently drowning in blush (and bronzer, and highlighter) thanks to sub boxes.

Please review this!

This is a fantastic idea. I like the bright/bold colors. It is so easy to find quality neutrals. I’m more hesitant to purchase out of ordinary colors on my own. And, hopefully there will be day and night look tutorials included.

I will be signing up ASAP.

I would love to see a review. The colors look pretty bright for my taste. In reality, they may be less stark.

This sounds like an interesting take on make up subs. If the make up is good this could be a great alternative (or addition) to what is already out there.

I love the idea of them sending you the right products to achieve a daytime & nighttime look with everything you need and the fact that it’s every other month which is great for a budget. The only thing I’m wondering about is the fact that they’re using their own makeup line and as far as I know they’ve only ever done perfume and even that wasn’t their own perfumes. I’m interested in knowing who is creating their makeup and what the ingredients are. Like Julep when they switched from just polish to makeup (which is fantastic), I’m sure people will be on the fence about the quality. I’d LOVE to see some reviews on this because I doubt I’ll sign up till I know it’s legit and not some garbage makeup company product. Love the idea of YouTube collabs as well. Please review!

My thoughts exactly! Totally agree 🙂

My thoughts exactly. Love this idea, but it’s weird that there is no information other than the obvious but unstated idea of tightly edited stand-alone palettes, especially when so many companies not only provide lots of information about ingredients and sources but also the reasoning behind those decisions and why their products are better or different than what’s already out there.

I have an unrelated question that hopefully someone can help me with b/c I don’t want to sign up for forum just yet. I’m trying to post my first listings for swap but I can’t get past the update info. part. It always says that my info was updated successfully but won’t let me proceed from there. I’ve read that other newbies had this problem but no one ever updates what they did next.

Yes, please review! Curious as to the quality. Love the idea. One palette & done! No packing a whole bag of stuff!

Yes, and could be good for travel too, or if daily like me, doing makeup on the fly since I’m always running late, in the car (parked, of course!) on the train, my desk/office, etc. Sad but true. I like sleep more than mu in the morning lol!

I would love to see reviews on this! It sounds like such an interesting concept and one that I would totally get after seeing a couple reviews (if it’s good of course).
I have been getting make up boxes as I am a make up beginner but so often I then don’t have the complete look and don’t use it much!

I can’t wait till this opens for subscription. I’m in!

Something about subs selling their own brands seems less interesting to me then getting surprised by many diff brands. But either way I read every review on here lol

Love this. Very interested 🙂

Yes, I’m very interested in seeing it reviewed BEFORE I decide! Looks very interesting tho and might be good!

I like that it’s every other month, it will give us a chance to experiment and eventually master the colors before we need to move on to the newer pallet.
I’m sure they will have a booklet tutorial especially for those of us who are artistically challenged. 🙂
I think I will try this subscription.

This is intriguing. I imagine/hope that they’ll send instruction on how to apply for us make up application challenged. Could be a fun one.

Wow! Yes – please review!!! I love this concept. I find palettes intimidating. I love the idea of a tailored pallet with specific tutorials on how to use. Very cool idea!
