Each box comes with an information sheet, which offers tasting notes for each wine as well as some information on the winery and recipe pairing ideas. I really like the inclusion of the recipe pairings.
Rootdown Rosé of Trousseau 2015
This rosé was very acidic and tart with melon and apricot notes. It wasn’t too sweet which I was happy about, as I prefer my whites and rosé to be dry. It’s made Amadour County, California and is fermented in oak barrels. I enjoyed this rosé, but it wasn’t my favorite selection from Plonk.
Acustic Cellar Montsant 2013
This Montsant was so smooth, crisp and fruity. My husband and I brought it to a local BYO restaurant and we enjoyed it so much. This is a bottle I would definitely buy again! It paired well with my angel hair and mussels. This wine is grown on organic vines in Catalonia, Spain. This wine was for sale at wine.com but is currently sold out. It was selling for $17.99.
Verdict: I enjoyed my Plonk Wine Club shipment this month. I especially loved the Montsant. It can be overwhelming going to a local wine shop and deciding what to buy. Having Plonk do the work for us is a nice treat. I’d like to note that if you fall in love with one of the wines they send you can order an entire case at a 16% discount with free shipping. If you appreciate being introduced to new wine from wineries with organic growing practices this is a nice subscription to try out.
