I'm so excited to explore this box! I love jewelry but am terrible at taking the plunge and buying pieces for myself, so this box sounds like just what I need to start growing my accessory collection. The message on this info card is all about living out your "fall fantasy", which has me expecting that the items in this box will have an aspirational flair.
They also include a list of the items in the box, along with flowery descriptions of each one. The grammar nerd in me spotted some errors, but I appreciate the effort Cate and Chloe put into conveying the personality of these pieces. Reading the descriptions, I automatically started imagining what was to come, and putting the pieces I imagined into outfits!
The jewelry in this box comes packaged so beautifully. This first piece was in a white box tied with a black satin ribbon. So classy and charming.
Isla "Ethereal" 18k White Gold Swarovski Pendant - Value $129.00
This necklace is so sweet and charming, with its tiny crystal and tinier Eiffel Tower. That little Parisian detail is awfully subtle, though, so even if you're not a fan of France, this necklace could come in handy in adding an understated twinkle to your ensemble.
The chain has lots of loops, too, so that you can adjust the length of the necklace to land where it's most comfortable or flattering. Note that this piece is white gold plated, not white gold. It doesn't impact the appearance too much, though.
I checked around online to see if I could find this pendant elsewhere, but only found it on Cate and Chloe's site. Similar necklaces (white gold, Swarovski crystal...) seem to fall a little closer to $80-$100, so I'd say this very simple piece might be valued a little bit higher than deserved. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that it's super cute.
Gia "Gracious" Bracelet - Value $54.00
Unlike the other jewelry in this box, this bracelet came in a velvety black pouch. The bracelet is an ornate combination of crystal flowers and white "stones", secured with a simple post. While this might be a bit austere for my tastes, I like the white and gold color scheme, which seems like it could work it's way into lots of outfits. There's definitely a lot of twinkle here, too, as the petal-shaped gems really catch the light.
Leona "Fate" 18k Rose Gold Swarovski Ring - Value $132.00
This solitaire ring is so classic and pretty. It glimmers in the light really beautifully, given the rows of crystals wrapping around the band. Had the info card not mentioned that this was rose gold, I probably wouldn't have noticed, since it's so subtle (or since the main crystal steals the attention away from the rose gold band). Just like with the necklace, though, take note that this is rose gold plated, not rose gold through and through.
Here it is on. See the rows of crystals?
Similar rings on the Swarovski site are priced around $80-$100, so again, I feel like the Cate and Chloe price is a little high.
Manna Kadar 3-in-1 Eyeshadow in Fantasy - Value $9.50?
This velvety powder is supposed to act as an eyeshadow, a blush, and even a highlighter for all skin tones. I was worried that this shade would still be too dark for me to use as a highlight (I'm super pale), but when I applied it sparingly, it actually created a gentle glow that didn't look unnatural or dull.
I couldn't tell what size this compact was, but it seems to be around half the size of the $19.00 container Manna Kadar sells on her site. I like that the box also comes with some beauty tips from Manna Kadar. (There are other video tips on her site, too!)
Verdict: I really liked the items in this month's Cate and Chloe box! Some items seem priced a bit high, based upon other comparable pieces, but even so, the value of the box (about $325!) is way higher than the $39.99 price tag. I've got to say that makes me a bit suspicious of the prices all of these sites are giving to these jewelry pieces, haha. But hey, maybe it's just a ridiculously great deal!
