I received the July 2015 box and sent a complaint email. They were kind enough to send out a “Best of Box” to make up for it. I got the box yesterday – IT WAS THE SAME BOX I COMPLAINED ABOUT!

I love Dermstore. When I called to report the expired product, they promised to replace with the December box. It took one more call to confirm, but they made it right.

So, I ordered 2 of the mystery boxes. Both were the July 2015 boxes. Monday I sent an email to them because both of the mascaras were dried out. I got an automated response that they would reply back within 72 hours. I got 2 emails today one to confirm my Return Merchandise Authorization. 2nd was order confirmation for 2 BeautyFix Best of BeautyFIX II. Which I believe is the exact same box I originally got. Hopefully they are checking all of the mascaras to make sure they aren’t replacing with another dried out mascara.

I emailed them last week about my expired and dried out products, but they haven’t even bothered to followup yet. I did get a survey regarding my satisfaction with their service/response. I think the lowest score was 1, so that’s what I gave them. Not a happy customer here.

I have noticed that anyone who posts something negative regarding the mystery box on the Dermstore Facebook pages gets their post deleted. This doesn’t sit well with me; it seems dishonest. I’m not particularly bent about what I received, it was $15, I got than that in value, but some of the dishonesty I’m seeing from them is really concerning.

I did a live chat with customer service last week and was assured that I would be receiving the December box as a replacement. However, the email confirmation I received over the weekend indicated it was the Best of Beautyfix II box. I did another live chat with CS today and they advised it was in fact the Best of Beautyfix and they could not change it to the December box because it has already shipped. Just FYI when you get the email you should call or chat immediately if you want the December box instead. It is wayyyyyyyy better.

Heads up to anyone who got this. I thought it was a one time deal (like the write up above said) but I just got charged for a box for a subscription. I also got an odd email today with a number to return the mystery box I got, which I didn’t want to or need to do. I hope their customer service is good…

You need to call. There’s a difference between dermstore.com and 1 800 Dermstore. Always talk to the people, you get a better, customer service. PS, it’s cheaper just to replace one mascara.

Warning to all those promised a December box: you might not be getting that. You may be getting the second variant of the mystery box, which is the July 2015 box (even older). I know because I GOT that variant in the first place, complained about that variant specifically because it was old with dried up mascara, was promised a December box, and then was shipped the SAME BOX again. They refunded me for the original purchase, but I am furious with them, and I let them know if (though I told the CSR I knew it wasn’t their personal fault). I will never buy from them ever again, including other Dermstore products. You DO NOT offer something as a new “mystery box” to entice new customers and then send out your 1+ year old stock of unsold boxes that anyone can look up on MSA. And then send it again as a half a**ed refund. Its baffling to me that they thought this was a good deal. I guess that’s what the “mystery” of it all is.

I have a question to those who ordered more than one. Did you receive different items? I read the comments about getting a couple boxes and thought, yes let’s go! I ordered three. Unfortunately I received the same box. I only like one item. So disappointed.

I bought 4 to give as gifts- they were all exactly the same except for the eyeliners being different colors. I received the email and spoke with CS today and she said they would be sending 4 December boxes as replacements. I feel like they have handled this very well overall- can’t wait to see what the December box is…

I received my replacement November box. Other than the fact that the Manna Kadar eyeshadow is a crumbly mess I think it’s a great value for $16. I’m very satisfied with Beautyfix. Their customer service is awesome.

I cannot believe that they tried to pass off a July 2015 (!!!!!) box that everyone hated as a Black Friday “mystery box.” They have to know customers would look it up on this site and then discuss it. I complained, and they are sending me a December box, which I appreciate. Good customer service. But it’s still a shady thing to do, and as a potential new customer, I don’t think I’ll be subscribing.

I haven’t gotten my box yet but I just got an email from Dermstore letting me know they sent the box with the expired items and would be sending me a December box to make up for it. Unless I want to do something different, I don’t need to respond and should just get box.

I got the box with the expired product AND the email from Dermstore that I’ll be getting a new box. I am actually very happy with the way they handled it. Even if the product wasn’t expired I don’t think I’d use it with all the precautions. They are sending a new box without me having them to contact them.

I was told I would be getting two December boxes as replacements — but in my confirmation email, it says I’m getting two “Best of BeautyFIX II” boxes worth only $19.99 each. I’m not upset, since that’s more than I spent on each mystery box, but that isn’t the value of a December box. Did anyone else get a similar email?

However, im not a subscriber, so does anybody know when in the month it arrives? I need to know which address to send it to. Hopefully spoilers will be up soon too 🙂

Ok so I’ve been following this thread since I ordered and crossing my fingers for the boxes that didn’t have the expired follimedica.
Buuut my box came today and I got two of that cursed box. So disappointed 🙁
I called and they are sending two December boxes (one free box per bad box), and I guess it’s fair but now I gotta cross my fingers that December is amazing. I really didn’t need a crap ton of products I won’t use so…here’s hoping I get something amazing for December :/
PS: the guy on the phone told me they had 300 bad boxes and 700 good boxes. Do you guys think this is accurate? Did I just get a really terrible roll of the dice, twice? Idk 🙁

I’ve only seen two box variations, and if the other box (the one I got) is the “good” box, that’s laughable. It’s even older than the other box since it was the July 2015 box.

I also ordered two mystery boxes that arrived yesterday, both with the expired product. When I called this morning they credited the purchase price back of each box and offered to also send me “something” to make up for the trouble. I think that is great customer service and I am very pleased with their response. They must have run out of Nov. and Dec. boxes to offer as a replacement. I would have been just as happy with those 🙂 I would really love to see a deal on a yearly subscription on this one. The product value is always great on the monthly boxes and I almost always love the contents since I prefer beauty items to make-up.

Estimated delivery 11/23-11/28. Still haven’t received my package.

I emailed them as soon as I received my box (included the expired hair growth product) and was offered a November box. I have received a couple of automated emails and I’m confused since one of them included an RMA number. Am I supposed to do something to send back the mystery box? I just received a shipping notice today that the November box is shipping out.

I called CS and they actually offered to resend out another mystery box to me with newer dates on the hair loss crud….. Umm, NO THANK YOU? I told them that I just wanted my money back and that I had lost all interest, which of course they complied. I am glad that everyone has had “good customer service” from them, but I find this absolutely I reputable and disgusting that a company sent out products this old to everyone. It’s not like just a couple of boxes with expired products were mistakenly sent out. And the thing is, Beautyfix has had this issue before in the past with sending out old/discontinued products but I was hoping that they had learned their lesson. Well, I have certainly learned mine.

If anyone is considering swapping the Cargo eyeshadow in Moreton Bay cause it looks like a bright purple, FYI, it goes on a really pretty maroon/plum shade! I was very pleasantly surprised with the shade once I put it on, and it also goes great with the navy eyeliner from Osmosis. I’m so glad I tried them and didn’t automatically give them up!

Well, I got mine today and I’m pleased! I can use most of the items. They seem a bit random, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s variation in these mystery boxes. I received:
Follimedica Hair Regrowth Treatment (2 oz – one month supply!), Avenue Thermal Spring Water (5.29 oz – full size), AHAVA Deadsea Water Mineral Hand Cream “Water” (0.68 fl oz), Osmosis eye pencil in Plum (0.04 oz), Cargo eyeshadow in Moreton Bay (0.12 oz), Replenix Neckletage (0.35 oz), 100% Pure coffee bean caffeine eye cream (0.3 oz), and samples of Rollin Lift Instant Skin Smoothing Mask (1 use) and Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Molecular Repair Treatment (deluxe sample). I don’t know the RV on all of this, but def was worth the $15 to me!

Make sure your hair product isn’t expired! Seems like everyone including myself who got that it expired last December. Call or email customer service 🙂 they are sending out free November or December boxes or more mystery boxes or giving refunds lol which offer you get depends on who you talk to I guess! They offered me december and I’m looking forward to spoilers!

Yeah, the hair product was expired in mine. I emailed them and they said they would send my Dec box for free (I am a subscriber), but then I got an email with an RMA, an email for a Best of Beautyfix II box – with a $34.95 price tag, and a billing notice for the December box. uh, geez. I’m just going to wait and check my cc statement and see what happens there. kind of a mess though.

I think I got the exact same box as you, except my eyeliner is in navy! I’m very happy with what I got, and it’s better than I even expected! Great $15 spent! I’m especially excited to try the eye cream.

This was horrible. Mine was just their worste box from back in 2015. Maybe they had a pile marked for trash & one for shipment & they got mixed up? The samples were even dried out. It was pretty bad.They were very apologetic though & customer service was nice. I think they know they made a mistake. I was issued a refund with no hassle but would have rather have the box they promised. So excited to order it because I have been interested in purchasing their subscription box for awhile. I thought this was the perfect way to see what their company was all about. I don’t think I could be confident in ordering from them again.
