This is the first time Isle Box is doing a fall quarterly! The information card shows all the items included this season: A Goal Zero Torch 250, a Therm-A-Rest Tech Blanket, a Klymit Luxe Pillow, and a bottle of the Archtek Toothpaste tablets.
Two of these items were included in the October Monthly Isle Box, just a heads up for those of you partaking in monthly and quarterly plans!
Goal Zero Torch 250 - Value $64.40 (on Amazon)
The first item is this awesome solar flashlight from Goal Zero. Goal Zero does a ton of solar powered items, and this device is one of their coolest. It can be powered by the sun, by the attached hand crank, and even by USB if you forgot to leave it out to charge. The torch is a flashlight, can be used as a lantern, and also has a red light feature for when you’re out stargazing! Another great feature is that you can charge USB items with it. Let the sun power it up and keep your phone or camera batteries charged while you’re out in the woods.
There are blue lights on the base indicating if the flashlight is on and how much power remains in the battery, and it also has handy little hooks for hanging it. It’s definitely got enough LEDs to light up a picnic table and then some. The flood feature has 3 levels of brightness too.
Therm-A-Rest Tech Blanket - Value $50
The Therm-A-Rest Tech Blanket has been on my camping wishlist for a while, so I was really stoked to open up the Isle Box and find it peeking out at me! I gave up the annoyances of a tent for hammock camping a few years ago, and I’m always looking for better, lighter ways to keep warm in the hammock at night. This blanket is ideal for cool nights in a camp chair and would be great to wrap inside your sleeping bag on a really cold night too. The best part is, it folds up into itself and the final wrapped size is nice and small.
I liked that there were small snap loops on the edges, giving you the option to turn it into an emergency sleeping bag too. The one included in the box is a Small size, and I think I would have preferred the Large. A size choice from IsleBox would have been great. I’ll still be using this on my next outing, though!
Klymit Luxe Pillow with Cover - Value $39.95
The Klymit Luxe Pillow was featured in the October Monthly Isle Box, here’s what I had to say about it in that review: This ultralight pillow is super comfortable, packs small in its own pouch, and was a breeze to inflate. The outer cover is really soft and bonus, removable! Campers know that pillows tend to get pretty gross over time, and I’ve never used one that could be thrown into a washing machine. The air bladder took just 3-4 good sized breaths to fill up. The included pouch is great, but you’d also be able to flatten out the bladder and stuff the cover in a side pocket to save some space in your pack.
Archtek Toothpaste Tablets - Value $5.49
The Archtek Toothpaste tablets were also featured in the October Monthly Isle Box, here’s what I had to say about them in that review: These are new to me! I really enjoy the process of cutting pack weight, especially when planning an extended backpacking trip, and toothpaste is always a must-have high-weight item. These individual tablets are small, light, chewable, and can be used without water. You will still brush and rinse as normal, just no tube of toothpaste to worry about! I’m looking forward to testing these out on my next trip. Plus, you get a ton so they’re going to last forever and you can share them out with that one friend who never does anything about his terrible morning breath.
Verdict: I think this Isle Box is awesome for outdoor-minded people looking to expand their gear selection and try out some new products. It was a bonus for me because I had one of the items on my personal wishlist! The value is good ($124 for $160 worth of gear) and I know I’m going to use all of this stuff!
