mine-chest-october-2016-theme

This month's theme is Cold Taiga! That's one of the snow biomes in Minecraft. This info card is also a cool (albeit blurry) hologram.

This is the information card that was included, and it's written up very cleverly in postcard style. The box (pictured above) is also a collectible and subscribers are encouraged to keep them and build in real life just like in the game!

mine-chest-october-2016-tee

Exclusive Minecraft Tee - Value $15?

This tee is a Mine Chest exclusive, and my eight-year-old loved it, of course! This is a burning skeleton, a wolf, and a dog, which are things you would find in this biome.

Mine Chest Exclusive Sticker - Value $1?

These are all individual stickers, and you can put them together to make your own snowy taiga image. My son loves stickers, and he loves Minecraft, so of course, this was a big win!

Stamp Block and Ink Pad - Value $7?

This is another Mine Chest exclusive! It's a snowball! I like these stamps because they can be used to make Minecraft scenes on paper. We get a new one every month!

mine-chest-october-2016-pin

Minecraft Exclusive Pin - Value $5?

It's another Mine Chest exclusive! This is a dog, and my son loves it! I've been saying for months that my boys aren't really into pins, but my eight-year-old just collected up all his pins and is using them on his corkboard he made for last month's Doodle Crate. I'm so happy!

Pop-out Cave Scene Papercraft - Value $2?

It's a snowy scene from Minecraft Taiga! This is perfect for playing together with...

Minecraft Mini-Figure 3-Pack - Value $14.99

...these mini figures! It's the killer bunny, a spawning zombie pigman, and Alex with gold armor! So fun!

Verdict: This was another great box from Mine Chest! My eight-year-old is obsessed with Minecraft, and he completely loves this subscription! It all goes to very good use! The value of everything this month adds up to about $45, so I'm happy. This is such a fun subscription for Minecraft fans!

I think the stamp is a heart. The stamp and pads were ok as a novel item in the first box or two, but my son does not really “get” what he should do with the growing collection. That folded landscape took me forever to get folded out correctly. My son loves the tshirt every month, but I feel like I’m paying lots of $$$ for just a tshirt and then a few collectible items he really does not have a use for at this point. I keep hoping they get a better value of items similar to other sub boxes.

I agree with with Katherine. I am not impressed with the content of these boxes….The stamp was nice the first time as an unusual collectors piece. But other than sitting on a shelf they are not even really something to be displayed like the vinyl figures… Every month is the same….sticker, pin, a stamper that goes in storage, and a Tee..they always throw in a plush or some other item as an after thought….the only item that has impressed me as something useful and quality for this entire 6 month run was the creeper back pack that came in November’s box, however, it was very small, not a standard issue school backpack size, so again, other than for maybe an elementary age child the backpack is not very useful…..I am going to give it til Feb, 2017 and see if now that LootCrate has stepped in, it improves, if not, I am cancelling….it’s a shame really, when I heard about a Minecraft subscription box in the works I was over the moon….now I am just “over it”.
