This month's theme is: Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice. From My Texas Market:
It's our fall celebration extravaganza! We have so many fun fall goodies to share with you, that we're delivering TWO different months full of autumn-themed bliss, starting with Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice. Get into the season with savory pumpkin, yummy apple, and more. Enjoy!
My Texas Market always includes an info card with details about the items included in the box. This month, there were 5 items included, and they gave a little background about the artisans and the items.
Spaulding's Specialty Spices - Holiday Spice Sugar - Value $6.50
This sugar is blended with cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg, and lemon. I was wary of stirring this into my coffee, thinking that it wouldn't mix in completely. I was totally wrong - it melted in smoothly and made my coffee taste delicious! It's almost like having a pumpkin spice latte...with a ton fewer calories. I'm definitely purchasing some of these for gifts this year.
Confituras - Bourbon Caramel Apple Jam - Value $12.95
This Bourbon Caramel Apple Jam is everything you would expect it to be. It's caramelly, fruity, and really smooth. In short - it's amazing on anything you can think to put it on.
From Scratch Farm - Pumpkin Spice Brown Sugar Scrub - Value $9.00
This scrub smells amazing - it's sweet and spicy. The ingredient list is impressive: brown sugar, olive oil, honey, vanilla, and spices. The pumpkin spice scent comes from a flavor oil.
The only caveat I would give is to be careful with the glass in the shower! I'm a klutz, so I never use glass near the shower.
Tradition Scents - Starbucks Wax Melts - Value $4.50
These wax melts smell very strongly like coffee - if that's your jam, you'll love these. I love the smell of coffee but this is a little much for me! They are made with natural soy wax. They also have a ton of different scents (colognes that I LOVE), so I may have to pick some other scents up soon!
SRSLY Chocolate - Pumpkin Spice Chocolate - Value $7.00?
SRSLY Chocolate is based in Austin Texas and they make their own chocolate from dried cacao pods. The company even offers chocolate making classes! If I lived closer, I would definitely be interested in that. This chocolate is made with 70% dark chocolate and a pumpkin spice blend. I couldn't find this particular bar on their site, but the other flavors look amazing too!
This bar tasted great - I loved the dark chocolate mixed with the spices that have become quintessentially autumn!
Verdict: My Texas Market has really taken a great concept and turned it into a successful box. They ship quality, unique items that you would find at a local farmer's market, straight to your door. All of the items are made in Texas and they do an excellent job at sourcing new companies. The value of this box is $39.95, which is right on par with what they promise - they always promise to meet the cost of the box and they always have!
