This box always includes a lot of great information about the crafters and products featured that month.

Dracula Greeting Card by At It Again! - Value approximately $4.15 USD

Just in time for Halloween is this greeting card, which features a quote from Bram Stoker's Dracula and a playful little doodle. It's quite a sassy little card—maybe pass this flirty design to your paramour or any lover of literature.

At It Again! creates cards and other paper goods themed around classic literature. It's a cute company that I'd never have known about without this box.

Wild by Water Clutch in Skellig Views - Value approximately $38.52 USD

I love this clutch! It's super pretty with its ocean landscape, which features the Skellig Islands. (You might recognize them from the end of the newest Star Wars movie!) I really like photorealistic prints like these, but find them overwhelming in clothing—on the other hand, this versatile zip-closed bag is the perfect amount of photo pattern.

Mungo Murphy's Sea-Bag - Value approximately $6.56

I had never seen a product like this before! Think of the Sea-Bag as a giant tea-bag—inside, there's a bunch of dried seaweed that you steep in hot water, releasing its powerful nutrients and oils. After you heat it up, you pop it into the bath for a soothing, traditional take on a spa soak. Crinkling the dry bag, it smells a little beachy and a little like a pine forest, to be honest.

Dingle Druid Wool Felted Soap - Value $3.62

This tiny soap comes wrapped inside a felted layer of real Irish wool. I'm a big fan of exfoliating products, and the gentle scrubbing power of the wool leaves my skin feeling smooth and squeaky clean.

The pattern is so cute, too! I love the heart. This little cube is about the size of a large die, so I'm keeping it by my sink rather than in the shower—it's just the right size for rolling around between your hands.

Verdict: I really liked this MyIrelandBox! The card wasn't quite my style, but I really loved the other unexpected items. I'm always delighted by the pieces this box features. They go above and beyond the run-of-the-mill shamrocks and sheep you might find in Irish gift shops in the states. The items are worth about $53.00, with most of that value coming from the clutch. All of the items are of great quality, and they're super unique, so I'd say that the $45.00 price of the box is definitely fair.

Nice review, thanks! I am always torn about MyIrelandBox . I applaud the unique nature and artisan quality of the items with mindful curation, though many seem to have an inflated cost. Also I agree that the “Shamrocks/Woolies” theme of mass produced offerings I see here (and all over the country there in gift shops) are not made well, uninspired and usually token (as a small souvenir) in nature. I wish they had a way to get past the shipping costs which I think is the biggest problem with the overall price of this SUB; items have to be light in size and shape and able to withstand shipment to the U.S. plus the shipping has to be absorbed by the consumer. I think about all the amazing food, art and gift items available in Ireland and I wish it were easier to get those things to an appreciative customer at a more reasonable price?

Thanks for reading! One reason I think the price is fair is because I know that in a gift shop, nicer items like these – the nice clutch (which is faux leather with a fabric front, I should have mentioned!), the unique seaweed soak… – would go for a pretty penny. I’m willing to pay a little more for authentic, locally-made items, too, since they’re not just mass produced somewhere else in the world and shipped out as “Irish”. But the price point puts a real limit to who can experience all the fun this box has to offer. I see this subscription as being best for someone who’s really into Irish culture and wants to splurge a bit more for the experience of getting legitimate Irish goods. For someone looking for unconventional gifts, this is probably not the box for you, since the value ends up coming from the experience, not just the items. It’s a shame, because the pieces really are quite cool! Thanks to everyone reading, commenting, and leaving feedback!

$45 + shipping fair, really????? I think this review would be a lot different if it came from a person who actually paid their own hard working money. This box is terrible.

I’d put the real value of the box at $20.

Really – screen-printing a photograph onto a zippered clutch/cosmetic bag makes it $38? I’m a little skeptical. Then again, I haven’t seen the Star Wars movie. Maybe the die-hard movie fans think that $38 is reasonable.
