Now, onto the items!

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0022

ColourPop Lippie Stix in BeautyCon Pink – Value $5

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0023

I’ve tried ColourPop Lippie Stix before, and I like the formula and coverage. It provides moisture, a hint of shine, and a good amount of color, too. (Plus the flavor is yummy!)

Rimmel London Lipstick (colors will vary) – Value $7

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0025

I received the shade "Listen Up," a bold red. If you're not a lipstick person, you might want to give this one a try! It doesn't have that classic lipstick smell (instead, it's a fruity scent), and you can apply it with a light hand for a more lip stain look.

Artist Couture Illuminati Highlighter - 2.35 g Value $10.60

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0021

This brand is from Angel Merino (one of the Fall box curators). I've seen a few beauty tutorials using Artist Couture highlighters, so I was thrilled to see this in the box so I could try it. No surprise - the pigment and shimmer are amazing. (Swatched in lower photo.)

This highlighter is not for barely-there makeup looks - it is made to shine!

Too Faced Bronzer - 2.5 g Value $6.85

This is my go-to bronzer for a few reasons:

1. It's matte. I appreciate a shimmer on occasion, but for everyday makeup, I need matte!

2. The color works perfectly for my skin tone and it is buildable.

3. It smells so delicious you are going to want to eat it.

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0028

I just bought the full-size version with my Cyber Monday Too Faced Mystery Box, so now I have a travel version, too!

Here it is swatched below the Rimmel London Lipstick, the ColourPop Lippie Stix, and the Artist Couture Illuminati Highlighter:

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0039

Great pigment across the board!

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0013

Skinvolve Beauty Karate Cream – Value $40

This body cream is a great size (8 oz). It’s designed with caffeine and argan oil to help hydrate, tone, and smooth your skin. (AKA – decrease the appearance of cellulite!)

I’ve tried quite a few cellulite creams over the years, and I do see results with caffeine creams (even if the results are temporary.)

I like how light this cream is – it absorbs in seconds. (I’ve tried other cellulite creams that took way too long to absorb.) And the formula is paraben and sulfate free, too!

The immediate result from using this lotion is more hydrated skin, but I’m hoping with continued use I’ll see smoother skin, too. (One tip I recommend for maximizing results is to apply it then massage it in with a cellulite tool. I use this one.)

One other thing to note, this cream has a light floral/rose scent. It wouldn’t be my first pick for a scent, but I don’t mind it either.

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0015

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - 3.4 oz Value $3.50

This Micellar cleansing water removes makeup and is designed for sensitive skin. It works wonderfully well, and my favorite part is that unlike some makeup removers, you don't have to rinse it off after using. I'm keeping this next to a box of q-tips on my vanity for quick fixes to makeup application mishaps!

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0031

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Feline Mascara – Value $8

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0032

Wow! Between this mascara and the Smith & Cult mascara in the Byrdie Beauty Box, I'm having the best mascara month ever!

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0033

This formula gives amazing length, curl, and lash definition. I would give it an A+ except I want a tad more volume in my dream mascara, but... good news! The next item takes care of that!

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0035

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Primer – Value $5

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0036

This primer is designed to give your lashes volume, conditioner lashes, and prime them for mascara. It goes on white, and it’s easily covered with mascara.

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0037

I've sampled this before thanks to subscription boxes, and it is one of my favorite drugstore beauty products now!

The formula is seriously impressive – it gives SO much volume with only a few swipes! And it means I’ll use less mascara per use, too!

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0029

Luxie Beauty Highlighter Brush – Value $24

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0030

I love adding Luxie brushes to my collection - the rose gold + pink combo is gorgeous, and the bristles are super soft, too. And I can always use another highlighting brush!

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0017

Kate Somerville Exfoliating Treatment - .5 oz Value $24

Another item I was thrilled to see in the box! I LOVE this exfoliator - it only takes 2 minutes, and you can even do it in the shower since you apply it to wet skin. You massage in a thin layer for 30 seconds, then let it sit for up to 2 minutes (and appreciate the cinnamon scent while you wait).

It leaves my skin feeling super clean and smooth - no irritation either!

(You can use it up to two times a week, and this tube should last you a while.)

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0011

Biobelle Botanic Fiber Facial Mask – Value $5

This mask is free of parabens, phthalates and it was gentle on my skin. I can't say I noticed any diminishing of the appearance of fine lines after using it, but it was super hydrating.

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0009

Ali & Jay $50 Coupon Code

This coupon is for $50 off a $100 purchase, so I'm considering this more of a bonus addition to the box and not an actual item.

beautycon-winter-essentials-december-2016-0007

And BeautyCon also included a promo card for the new season of ANTM! (I've been watching this show since college and I'm missing Tyra a bit, but I still enjoyed the first episode of the new season. And now I'm just waiting for my favorite episode each season - the makeover episode!)

Rimmel + BeautyCon + ANTM are doing a giveaway for a VIP prize pack (including $500 worth of Rimmel London cosmetics) and all subscribers are automatically entered!

Verdict: Based on my estimates, this box has a value of about $139! I think that's an amazing value, and more importantly, I'm loving all the brands and products included in this box! I think it is safe to say it's my favorite BeautyCon box of all time! I really appreciate the mix of high-end and drugstore products - all of them are hits to me!

So, much better than Fall’s… I loved this box, I can’t say it is my favorite because Kandi’s and Bunny’s were amazing too! Good finish to the year for Beautycon though!

Bought a one year subscription for my sister, and she loved it. The value is great, but the customer service experience was awful! Every time a box was to be shipped out, I experienced some issue, always on BeautyCon’s side. If it wasn’t their website, their server, it’s their payment processing having issues. My sister received all her boxes late but luckily she didn’t miss out on any. The company won’t even email you when a payment has failed, a box hasn’t shipped or anything. I spoke to Kristina via online chat for the last box and she claims not everyone has had this issue, so if you happen to be the unlucky ones that do, expect to contact customer service every 3 months to ensure your box is shipped, even if you’ve already paid for your yearly subscription. It sucks.

This is my favorite box so far!!! I LOVE that kate exfolikate and the fact that it’s .5 oz is great! I’ve been eyeing that highlighter brush forever. I needed a lash primer. loved it!!!

What a great box. What are the best choices for boxes, ladies? Right now I have fff, Birchbox, play by Sephora, and allure that is in the middle of a 6 month subscription that was gifted to me. I would rather have more full size beauty products and lifestyle products, but the home products in popsugar tend to not be my style. I’m thinking of keeping fff and allure but dropping play and Birchbox in favor of either Beautycon, or boxycharm. Any other good options? What do you recommend?

Amanda

Boxycharm is great!

Boxy Charm is my fave. Full size products and only $21/month.

I loved my beauty con box . There was nice brands and products to try. I hope that the next box will be great too. I have never had a problem with customer service.

I was thinking of subscribing to this box, but I don’t want to subscribe for a whole year… maybe 2 or 3 boxes, only. I thought (or, more like assumed) this was an option, however when I read Beautycon’s disclaimer below, I’m not so sure. Can someone please confirm whether I can do a non-annual subscription with Beautycon (i.e. not be committed to 4 boxes)? The way I’m reading the message below, is that a year-long subscription is being purchased, despite the Seasonal box ($29/box) option being checked. I know they reference a Seasonal subscription in the disclaimer, but I wasn’t sure if that was provided as an option for those that don’t want to pay the annual fee upfront. Thanks for any insight!

Beautycon’s disclaimer:
By clicking, “Complete Order,” you are purchasing a year long subscription with a total of four (4) Beautycon Boxes, which will ship every 3 months. Each order will be charged to the card you provide today, approximately every 3 months. Please note, exact shipment times may vary. By purchasing a Seasonal Subscription, you agree to an initial and recurring Seasonal Subscription fee of $29 or the then-current Seasonal Subscription rate, and you accept responsibility for all recurring charges, including $6.99 shipping and handling.

I have the same question! I signed up to get this box and planned on cancelling after, but now I’m not so sure that’s “allowed” and that I may be forced to buy 3 more. Ugh!

Reply ButtonReply

Jodie

Yes, it’s allowed. I did it and then later signed up for annual subscription

Brenda

Luna and Tessa, I cancelled mine after two boxes. You have to make sure to cancel before the billing date of the next season. You can email them ask. The lady I spoke with was very nice.

Maria

Very impressed with this box. I signed up for the MSA deal and got the Kandee Johnson box which I loved when I got one in the summer. Whatever I won’t use became stocking stuffers. Has anyone got the extra bonus bag that came with the MSA deal yet?

Reply ButtonReply

Maria

I got my Mystery bag today. I don’t recall what the value was supposed to be, but I got the Artist Couture highlighter from above, the Nyx Ombré lip color from the summer box, the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil and 3 LA Fresh wipes. Don’t know if they’re different for different people.

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

I recieved my bonus today, exact same items as yours.

Michele

I got my bag today and it included the same exact items.

Barbara

I got this email from beautycon a couple days ago.
“Just a heads up about your MSA order!”

Thank you for Subscribing, Beauty!
We are SO happy to have you! Just a heads up that the bonus product package you will be receiving will come in a separate shipment from your subscription and bonus boxes!

Kim

I received the same email. I received my Winter and bonus boxes yesterday, I impressed with amount of products in it. My cleansing oil did leak in the bonus box, but still good!

Michele

I did not receive the promised bonus bag either.

I came on MSA to ask the same question: Has anyone received the mystery bag?

Reply ButtonReply

Cassie

I am really tempted to sign up to get the Winter box. I wasn’t impressed with any of the other boxes this year, but this one looks awesome! Is the coupon code for an annual subscription only, or can you use it on a seasonal subscription? I wish they didn’t charge $6.99 for shipping!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

The coupon should work on both annual and quarterly subscriptions. Hope that helps! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Pam

I am so tempted. Does anyone know what us in their bonus box for new annual subscriber?

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah Steil

This has been their best box in awhile! Tempted to sign up for this box

heat7918

I’m so tempted too! I’ve been reading the reviews for this box for over a year and it always has a few really good items but then a few items that aren’t for me. This one though… I think I could use it all – maybe even both lippies! But like BL said, I don’t NEED it since I’m swimming in products. I am getting low on mascara primer though – just started using a few months ago since I got some in a sub box and now I love it!!

Reply ButtonReply

BL

They were alot of goodies in this box. So worth it. I wish I didn’t have hundreds of beauty samples right now. I WANT the box but I don’t NEED the box ya know! Great review Liz as always. You sold me! 😊

Liz, if you use a homemade scrub of coconut oil, used coffee grounds (let dry out a little), I use a little rosehip and argan oil in my scrub…Melt oil, let cool, add whatever scent you like, and if you want add rosehip, and argan (I use cinnamon oil and vanilla…Smells like chai latte) then beat like frosting with a mixer, stir in coffee grounds…..Then use as a scrub in the shower, towel dry and apply the caffeinated cream you reviewed above…. You’ll see longer, and faster results.. and it smells delicious!!!! I use this before tanning in winter to reduce cellulite and keep my skin from drying out. (Winter in Maine is hard on the skin!! and vitamin D levels, hence the tanning 😉)

I was SO happy and thrilled with this box! Much redeemed from the Fall Box. Lots of great brands and products I will actually use. The loose pigment is a strong highlight (even for me and I like to highlight- just too glittery) but I’ve used it twice as eyeshadow ‘topper’ – tonight with Too Faced’s Glitter Glue and it looked amazing

Ks

What an awesome box though!!!!! I would just for bronzer and exfoliator alone.

Haha I know! Such great brands and products in this box! 🙂
