Each month, you'll be receiving timely comics from numerous different publishers. They can range from super-popular titles, Like Batman or Avengers, to little-known titles.
Each delivery comes with an information sheet, too. You can read about each issue and what the BlindBox Comics team thought of the issue. You'll also find out about the BlindVariant at the bottom - it'll detail the rarity for each variant. You'll receive 5 of the 6 comics outlined on the sheet.
Moonshine #1 - Value $2.99
This comic is from Azzarello and Risso who combined on 100 Bullets! If you couldn't tell from the title of the cover, it takes place during Prohibition.
This title brings a gangster story, but with a supernatural twist.
Reborn #1 - Value $3.99
Image continues its great run with another great title - Reborn! The summation of the story is an exploration of where you go when you die - it tells it as a battleground! Very cool.
This was my favorite of the bunch this month - I love Capullo's work, so I was excited to see this featured!
Jessica Jones #1 - Value $3.99
It's been a while since Jessica had her own run - a decade, actually. I thought his comic does a nice job in meshing the comic Jessica Jones with the Netflix show Jessica Jones.
It's awesome to see Alias open once again! Marvel titles are always a favorite of mine, and this one was extra fun because I also loved the Netflix series.
Girrion #1 - Value $4.99
This one was a sci-fi fantasy tale revolving around a factory worker, Jarra.
This one was a bit all over the place - but even Blindbox admits that! The format is really cool - it's super high-quality paper and a bit smaller of a comic overall.
The Skeptics #1 - Value $3.99
This one was definitely original - two kids fooling the world into thinking they have super powers.
I wasn't really drawn to this one - the story was ok for me and the artwork followed suit.
They also tossed in two free bonus issues from Halloween ComicFest!
Shipwreck #1 - Value $3.99 + BlindVariant value
The BlindVariant this month was Shipwreck #1 - a comic that I really enjoyed!
I absolutely loved the story and artwork! There were 3 possible variants to receive - Full Color (limited to 250), Black & White (limited to 100), and Embossed Series (limited to only 25) - what did you get?
Verdict: I keep subscribing to BlindBox for the discovery aspect of the box. There isn't a close comic shop, so this is like getting a suggestion from the owner, and I love it. Yes, some titles are misses, but I've found more new titles from this subscription than any other. Plus, the variants can supply some serious value if you can catch an embossed version - they've gone for $400+!
