Peyton "Royal" 18k Yellow Gold Plated Necklace - Value $59.00

This necklace is really minimalist, which makes it incredibly versatile. Score! I love items I can wear on numerous occasions, be it to work, to a party, or to the grocery store. Depending on how you style it, this necklace can go super sophisticated (with an LBD and some heels) or cool and contemporary (with a denim shirt and a cute suede skirt). How do I know? I've worn it with both in the past week!

The site says the chain is 7.5 inches long with an extra 2 inches to play around with using the lobster claw clasp. For me, this lays 2-3 inches below my collarbone. For as much as I've worn it, I'm happy that it's not tarnished at all. $59.00 still seems like a lot for what this simple necklace is, though.

Mallory 18k White Gold Plated Swarovski Earrings - Value $108.00

This set of earrings is another understated pick that I really like. When I buy earrings, I tend to be lured towards big, flashy, "special" earrings, and I rarely get something so classic and all-purpose. There's nothing these crystal earrings don't go with! I've worn them with everything from hoodies to nice dresses. They class things up without being too glamorous.

Part of the reason they work is that they're so dainty. See how small?

Okay, but price-wise? $108.00 for crystal earrings? Similar earrings on the Swarovski site are around $70.00. If they were all white gold, maybe. But as they're just white-gold plated, I feel like $108.00 is pretty steep.

Diana "Royal" Cuff Ring - Value $52.00

This ring is the perfect midpoint between cool, bohemian style and don't-mind-me-I'm-just-heading-to-the-champagne-bar chic! The gold is an eye-catching backdrop for the bitty crystal crisscrosses on this design, and I love the little droplets in the corners of each diamond.

This size 7 ring fit my ring finger pretty well, but I like wearing it on my pointer finger more.

This is a ring worth showing off, so I recommend wearing it in your cocktail-carrying hand!

Harvey Prince Signature Mini Roller, 8.8 ml - Value $23.00

I am in love with this organic rollerball fragrance! It's very floral and feminine, but there's a touch of something earthy and sensual that makes it more complex and modern.

Read our review of the November 2016 Cate & Chloe box!

I've been wearing this perfume everywhere. I do a little sweep on my wrists and behind my ears. A little goes a long way, so I can see even this small container going a long way. Most rollerballs I usually get are $25 or so, and this is about half the size of those.

Verdict: I really loved this Cate & Chloe box! As usual, I think some of the jewelry pieces feel a bit over-valued for what they are. This $39.99 box contains about $242.00 worth of items, going by Cate & Chloe's prices. That value seems quite high for what's here, but the $39.99 price of the box? That definitely seems fair for what you're getting. These pieces are really pretty and useful across multiple styles. And that fragrance rules! I could understand some people being disappointed if they're looking for something more distinctive in this box. To them I'd say, stay tuned! This box felt more simple than others I've received, so something more unique may be in the queue.

Does Cate & Chloe allow you to choose in any way, say if you prefer gold or silver?

There’s a multiple-choice quiz on general preferences. One question asks whether you prefer tones of yellow gold, silver, rose gold, etc, and you may check more than one.

I recently enrolled and my first box had a tiered necklace with 3 descending crystals on 3 chains, white gold plate. Very nice and excellent selection for my style.

So far I am delighted with this box!

I’m just curious but from the pics it looks as though that ring sits on top of your knuckle. Can u still bend your finger with it on? Might be a silly question!

Anna Reilly

Hi Missy! My fingers are pretty petite, and I could still work them pretty well while wearing this ring, haha! The edge of the ring hits just before the bendy part of my knuckle, so I’d feel it there, but movement wasn’t inhibited in any way. Did that make sense? I hope it helps!

Thanks for reading and for your question!

I thought the necklace was going to be in the January boxes? The ring I received was a two tone style that was kind of ugly.i like your ring much better.
