Deck of Scarlet is new makeup palette subscription. Every other month, they'll send you a complete palette (from their in-house brand) that you can use to achieve multiple looks.
This is the very first box from Deck of Scarlett - Edition 00.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Subscription Box: Deck of Scarlet
The Cost: $29.95 ($80 value)
The Products: You'll receive one palette that contains two looks inspired by a top Youtuber. One daytime and one nighttime look. Products are 100% cruelty free, paraben free, and made in the USA.
The Youtuber who designed the first palette is Kelly Strack - she made video tutorials for using this palette (now on Deck of Scarlet's Facebook page.)
Now, time to look at this palette!
The top has two separate magnetic flap closures, so you can keep one side covered if you like:
It has a slot for the eyeliner or lipliner, and there's an eyeliner included as well.
This set includes two lip glosses, three eyeshadows, 2 cheek colors, and an eyeliner and a lipliner.
Everything in this palette had excellent pigment. The lip creams are pretty goopy (I never really like lip glosses in palettes - I prefer them in tubes!), but the colors are gorgeous. The eyeshadows have a good amount of shimmer (especially the shades on each end). And I like that they included both a powder and cream cheek color!
Here is everything swatched:
Jackpot Lip Color, Flush Lip Color, Irresistible Eyeshadow, Lucky Eyeshadow, Loot Eyeshadow, Bluff Powder Blush, Playtime Cream Blush. (Lust & Chocolate Eyeliner and Oh So Nude Lipliner.)
Here are the two liners:
Oh So Nude Lipliner
As you can see in the swatch picture, these also have excellent pigment, and they go on so smoothly.
Lust & Chocolate Eyeliner
And each liner has a built in sharpener!
Verdict: I am seriously impressed with the formulas in this palette! And I love that they included 2 full-size liners as well - the value is definitely there for me at the $30 price point. I also like that this subscription ships every other month. (Not that I wouldn't love getting a palette every month, but this seems like a more manageable cadence for a full look makeup subscription.)
