These are the Canadian version of M&Ms (even though they also have M&Ms). So maybe they're more similar to Sixlets! I really enjoyed them - for some reason, I like that the colors are less saturated than M&Ms.
Glosette Raisins
Who doesn't love chocolate covered raisins? You wouldn't catch me eating a handful of plain raisins but with chocolate added, they become something magical. I loved these.
So, apparently, there is a debate in the snack world on which is better: Heath or Skor. I've never even tried a Heath bar...Skor has always had my heart. So I really loved getting one in this box!
Oh Henry made with Reese Peanut Butter
We've seen Oh Henry's in the Get Canucked boxes before, but this was hands down my favorite Oh Henry. I loved the Reese's Peanut Butter in place of the fudge - it was just really good. I am now lamenting the fact that we don't have these here in the states!
Mirage by Nestle
This milk chocolate candy bar has bubbles in it, like the Aero. This chocolate bar was fun, but it paled in comparison to the Oh Henry.
Hostess Hickory Sticks
I loved these! I really enjoyed the flavor and the texture of these. The size and shape of the chip itself made it way too easy to just continue eating these.
Kraft Dinner
Americans will know this as Kraft Macaroni and Cheese - and really, you can't go wrong with the classics. Get Canucked says in their blog post:
Canadian pundit Rex Murphy once wrote “Kraft Dinner revolves in that all-but-unobtainable orbit of the Tim Hortons doughnut and the A&W Teen Burger. It is one of that great trinity of quick digestible that have been enrolled as a genuine Canadian cultural icon."
Get Canucked also asked if you put ketchup on your KD...that sounds horrific to me. Do any of you put ketchup on mac and cheese? Convince me it's good!
Miss Vickie's Applewood Smoked BBQ
I really enjoyed these chips - kettle cooked chips always way outperform any other type of chip in my book. The flavor of the applewood smoked BBQ came through really nicely.
Old Dutch All Dressed Chips
All dressed chips are a favorite of mine; I love the mixture of flavors. These are the ultimate savory chip. I was happy to see these in my box this month - I hoped I would receive another bag but you never know with subscription boxes.
Old Dutch Ketchup Chips
I'm a recent convert to ketchup chips. I really like the tomato-y salty flavor present in these!
Lays Dill Pickle Chips
I can see how these would be really polarizing but for those that love dill pickles, I imagine they're a dream come true. I really enjoyed them, but they wouldn't be a chip I would reach for too regularly.
Verdict: I always really enjoy my Get Canucked boxes. They are a throwback to my teen years when I spent some time in Canada with friends. As far as value goes, I think the box is worth it's $25 price tag. This month we received 11 full-size snack items, which breaks down to about $2.27 each. I don't think that's terrible - especially since that is pretty spot on to how much you would pay for some of these in store! I am hoping with their December box they throw in some classic Canadian Holiday treats...I think that would be fun!
